Got into it via a one-shot that will probably become a full-fledged campaign and I love it.

Just found you and subscribed! Looking forward to more content! One video that I would personally (And I mean like, unrealistic pipe dream personally) like to see would be something about the worm ttrpg Weaverdice! The tone is overall quite a bit different than this video, and I don't know your usual fare, but it would be nice to see a video on it somewhere!

The game is like being in high school but very confused about your identity, really confused about who you are and very low self-steam... how the hell this game came to happened? Well, it is call recruiting camp. Somehow is a superhero game where your powers no matter because you are focused on things that your head make you believe are real (probably because you have too much time in your hands as teenager). I think I got 90% in three lines.

I'm part of a new group playing this game and we like the system, but we're having a horrible time with the Mask Move for the Janus playbook. We're trying to understand how this move works when stats can change every game, and sometimes move entirely away from where they started, and the Janus player has requested that no matter what we don't affect their Mundane score to keep it at +3, but that sounds like a horrible way of playing the game. Anybody understand how this move works that can explain, so I can explain. None of us can wrap our heads around why having mundane switch with another label once a game session even works, and in spite of the examples in the book we don't see that move exemplified through the examples.

I personally have not played the Janus Playbook as of yet. I would recommend maybe asking this question in r/PBTA which has folks talking about the game quite a lot. Hope that helps!

The Janus is about the struggle between the mundane and the heroic, and which side the character feels more drawn to. The mask move allows the player to swap the value of their mundane with the label they chose when they picked the move, that’s permanent, until you change it by doing influence stuff and all the other label shifting stuff. Your group mate is fundamentally misunderstanding the point of the Janus with their refusal to change their mundane. The mask basically represents choosing to cast away your civilian responsibilities to attend to your heroic ones. It’s miles morales donning the spider man mask to honor Peter Parker’s memory and protect his home. It’s dick Grayson, putting on his leotard and calling himself robin to find Danny zucco

The Janus is about having two distinct identities when you're in a phase of life where you're normally still figuring out said identity, singular. It's very much about learning to juggle them, overcome the issues coming from both sides and learn to accept them or reject what seemed logical at first. It's about balancing life and heroism and make both work or not be afraid to change something fundamentally to reach a better balance, even if it means giving up the mask or embrace it against your will. There is also quite a bit of potential nuance in the character. It can be the Spider-Man archetype where you struggle at both ends, one where the hero is hugely popular, but your mundane life sucks balls and of course there is the darker Tara from Teen Titans archetype, the plucky, cute teenage girl with an overbite turns out to be a chainsmoking, promiscuous brat with an unsettling personal relationship with one of the bad guys.

I don't remember the Teen Titans ever having to deal with parents and school and all that boring stuff. Didn't they pretty much focus on fighting supervillains?
