I produced whole ep in lite 10 version.. it is lit. Yes ofcourse 8 tracks are not enough. but instrument rack is there for your help. you can put multiple instruments in a single track. like bass and keys in the same track and you can process them individually using audio rack. i used to use it for layering. in short this is complete daw. you just need to know how to break limits of live lite.

Yeah you can totally produce like a pro in Live Lite. Moreover, unless you're a pro your music shouldn't feel like a job lol. I'm not and I don't really need all 8 tracks to have fun.

i've started my ableton journey 10 years ago with live lite and the fact that it's limited to 8 tracks, was the best way for me to learn, to make music in a minimalistic way. the essence! thanks for that!

i've been using live lite to produce music for a few years and due to the limitations in the lite version, i've discovered my work process and ways of thinking has been altered to maximise and make the most out of the 8 tracks. i've realised that the drum rack is a really useful tool. i guess less is more.

I have lite on my laptop and standard on a desktop... I love being able to make demos on the go and then add a final mix later in standard

I produce and mix all my songs in Live Lite. Its very possible to make full length tracks on it!

hi. could someone help me out? I have a (probably) Windows 10 problem... Either I use Live Lite or my other DAW, wether or not exclusive mode is unselected in the program or not, sound is exclusively used by the DAW/ Live, so I cannot stream or record my live-sessions (screencapped), which is my goal... I didn´t even find an "exclusive mode" inside Live Lite and I know that for my other one I deactivated it...several times... It all boils down to being a Windows sound driver problem (I don´t think the issue was present when on Win7) or how it handles sound sources (games work fine, as do videos etc simultaneously) and I would LOVE to know why and how to solve it (without buying new hardware....) If someone can help me, your name will for ever be in my live-session-credits :D

I used to make music on 4 track recorders. So 8 is enough for me 😊

All the time I used Live Lite I didn't know about using drum racks, used to try and squeeze everything into eight tracks. What a noob 😂

Even Pro-tools are now offering a free version with more than 8 tracks, not to mention Tracktion and Cakewalk. Ableton needs to get with these hard times and up the track count!

Hi, we're happy to confirm that saving is possible without limitations in the Lite edition of Live. The only edition in which saving is not possible is the trial version once its 90-day trial period has expired. We hope this helps!

Hi Clint - Technically it should be possible. Just be aware that Lite has limitations on how many tracks you can use in one set - so you may need to get creative in how you organize the set. Or use separate sets for all those songs. If you're using 3rd party plug-ins to control lighting, it should work in Lite. @@Ableton okay. Say I record a rough track at practice that has a cowbell and one background vocal. Dump this in Ableton. One song with 2 tracks. I can then play this song live with a click track to drummer in ears with dmxis plugin running lights? Then song 2 same deal. Would that make 4 tracks? Or what if I put the 2 songs back to back to create one song. Is that now only 2 tracks? Sorry for the noob questions, I'm trying to wrap my brain around the proper structuring.

Hi Clint. Thanks for the response. It looks like your math is right. The only thing is, when adding more than one song to a single set file, the songs will likely have different tempos meaning you'd either have to have two songs at the same tempo on the set, or introduce tempo changes into the structure of the set, which is also possible. No, there's no need to pay extra to save or export. It sounds like you're opening a saved Live set prepared by someone else which contains elements not available in Lite - this will temporarily remove your authorization. Please include Analog in Standard.

I cant use Ableton lite 11 because of CPU problems with the top right indicator in red at 85% or higher with just 2 tracks no plugins its basically unusable. I lowered the bit rate and that didn't help. Other DAWs work fine and dont have this issue.

If i bought the apc40 mk2 controller do i need to buy the intro or standard version?

I really like live. Thing is, people are moving to mobile to create music. I hope they make an ios version. Also, where is Push 3? How about a smaller and slimmer form factor? Pls Ableton. Surely you’d want them to add more features to 11 like FL etc. Adding minimal features that you have to upgrade screws people who have paid and rewards pirates. I bought live 11 suite recently and don’t want to already be missing out :/

Is there anyone who can help me with my buffer size? My lowest option is 256 but it makes everything distorted. When I increase my buffer size I get latency. Is it a problem which is based on my Ableton version (Ableton Live Lite 11)? Does anyone have the same struggle?

I hope a developer reads this but I’ve been using ableton for nearly 20 years. I’m having to switch DAWs because of the horrendous CPU issues. It’s not ideal as my workflow in ableton is fast and I enjoy the interface and the way audio is handled. The coding is really dated, it needs to be optimised for the current specs of plug ins. It’s a real shame but you’re really starting to fall behind. It’s become an entry level DAW for basic electronic music. For sound design and bigger projects professionals are jumping ship to reaper

@@MikeTro depends what you use it for and your particular background. For audio editing, scripts are really handy. There’s things I don’t like about it for sure. there’s no denying ableton has issues with cpu when it comes to large projects and lots of plug ins. It really struggles
