What is LDPE Plastic / Low-Density Polyethylene Plastic?
It is labeled as number 4 plastic on the bottom of your plastic products. It is most commonly used in clear packaging. It is also commonly mistaken for its counterpart, HDPE. They have similar properties but are different in a wide range of ways.

What is the 'density' that determines the characteristics of LDPE/HDPE? Can they, in theory, be mixed together? i.e. If I melted an hdpe milk jug and an ldpe bag together would I end up with some mid-density poly ethylene or would the materials remain separate? Thanks!
