What Is It Really Like In THE BEST PLACE TO LIVE IN FLORIDA? Sarasota Explained.
The Best Place to Live in Florida 2023 is Sarasota Florida. Sarasota has been voted the best place to live in Florida numerous times and to some people, it is also the most stunning Florida city. Sarasota can be a bit confusing though so here is how I explain the city and the major attractions. We will talk about a few different zip codes highlighting Siesta Key, Lido Key, Downtown Sarasota, Palmer Ranch, and East of 75. If you are looking to move or live in the Southwest Florida coastal side, this video is for you!

We live in Sarasota County but in the City of Venice. It is a truly beautiful place to live. However, I agree with your statement about the buildup going on in our area. It is exploding! We came to this area 11 years ago because it was so laid back and peaceful. They are ruining it for us. I am very afraid of all the communities, town centers and strip malls that are going up. 😢

I truly love living in Sarasota. I get nervous with how much development is happening near downtown/Lido Beach area because it is changing the character too fast. Lido Beach used to be my little secret getaway when everyone was rushing over to Siesta Key. Now I see so much activity there that I can see how it has even affected the birds and sea animals. I hope anyone moving to Sarasota can respect the natural environment with the same sense of stewardship that allowed it to remain beautiful for so long. Come and enjoy Sarasota, but please be a conscious steward to keeping her the jewel that she is. ❤

No one. An afford sarasota anymore. Check out the prices of homes, condos and rentals. I bought 2018. Now it’s double. Doesn’t make me happy. No where to go everywhere is o er priced and it’s crowded. Beaches no parking. Tell ppl the negatives.
Sarasota is nice but it is getting crowded. If you can take Florida heat, then look for a nice place in a smaller town with a reasonable drive to larger city shopping. My neighbors were previously cows. Now they are housing developments and stores and restaurants. The last couple of years have seen overwhelming growth, and our roads aren't big enough to handle it. If we ever have a serious evacuation for a hurricane in this area we are going to be in trouble. Please spend a month here before you make your final decision.

Great video. Will be visiting Sarasota later this year to scout for the neighborhood to buy a house later this year and relocate. As a person relocating from NYC area: crowds and traffic does not scare me (I was in Sarasota a year or so ago and did not notice any so what people calling ‘problems’ I do not even notice 😂). Given that this will be my ‘forever’ home the biggest challenge is to find a place that I will be completely happy with. 😊

I’m a relative newcomer to Sarasota (two years). I have no idea what traffic was like before we moved here, but aside from the Ringling Bridge and St. Armand’s, what traffic? A minor annoyance at best. We love downtown. Just last Friday night, we drove through Main Street and needed to park a couple blocks past 1592, but that was nothing.
I was born in Sarasota Memorial Hospital in 1981 and lived in the same house in 34231 until I was 30 when I sold my family home and moved to Central New York. When I see what Sarasota looks like now in Google Street, I literally cry. The gentrification is OUT OF CONTROL. I didn't understand what my father meant when he would go on about this charming town lost its character but now I get it. You better treat the whole place as a formal event. Make sure you are dressed in your best "stealth wealth" attire if you don't want to get questioned by police for seeming like you "don't belong". It is not a race thing, its a class thing and it's a real shame. It's sad, because it was home, but I can never go home again because that Sarasota is long gone. But if you are rich and look it, give it a go. The arts history and culture is indeed phenomenal.

Hey, thank you for sharing your perspective. Obviously, I was not around when you were so I don't know what it was like in the 90s. I enjoy a lot of the new development like the Bay Sarasota because that will certainly enrich people's lives. Yes, real estate has gotten very expensive here as it has in many parts across the US. I do feel that there are still many casual places around for all to enjoy but it is my own perception. Yours is yours and valid for that reason as well.

We lived in Sarasota for 7 years but left a year ago. Just got way too crowded (i.e. traffic backups). Housing has always been really expensive there (but it's like that all over FL). The final straw for us was the massive over-development of high rise condos in and around the downtown area. Downtown used to have a small-town, quaint feel. The over-development has destroyed that, in my humble opinion.
