What is it like running errands in a 28yr old b16 CRX?

I have had several people asking me to do more content on my CRX. It's a 1991 HF with a b16 and even though I put so much time and work into restoring it, I use the heck out of it. Follow me on a typical day running errands in my little gas saving go kart as I tell a little more about the history of my build.

I am 55 years old, I had a 88 CRXsi in my 20's. As years passed by, I have owned 94 Euro BMW M3, 97 Porsche 993, 2005 Corvette. I have to be honest, the CRXsi was the most fun car of them all. I miss that car the most. It did everything. Thanks for sharing you video. Guard that CRX with you life.

@@diversedad7954 how much did you ended up selling yours for? Of course, don't feel pressured to answer - I'm just curious. I've looked at one where I live and guy asks about $8000 for it, but it's original vehicle with 300.000 km on the engine. @@betrion7 yeah I had a couple offers that were even higher and I could have made a little more money on it but the guy I sold it to only lives 2 hrs from me and I can still keep in touch and visit the car. That's funny. If you've watched many of my other videos you'll see my daily driver is a slightly lifted z71 GMC Sierra 4x4 lol. And a lot of the time I'm wearing cowboy boots but usually not when I drive the crx cause I hate the way my boots fit the pedals. I take your comment that I'm not the typical Honda guy as a compliment. Hondas get a bad wrap because of a lot of the people that drive them but they are fun cars.

6:15 Appreciation is the key to being happy with the CRX and keeping it long. Once you start to compare to new cars you WILL become unhappy Power wise you want to Turbo, Traction loss you want to 4wd Then you want gadgets = You stay unhappy Once the molestation starts you introduce problems and you follow the demise of so many CRX

Years ago I had an 91 Crx Si with a ZC swap. I loved that car and used to race it here in the socal area at the time. Well in one month it was stolen twice most likely from the kids I used to race on the weekends. I felt I had to sell it before it gets stolen again.....I regretted that from day one. About 15 years later my father in law asked me if I wanted his 91 Crx Si because he knew to this day I miss that car (of course I said yes to the car!). I will never sell (or Race! i'm too old for that) that car and now I will teach my kids how to drive on that car! My happiness from the Crx is through the roof! Those cars are special! Only the people who have owned one knows what I am talking about. Beautiful ride!

Great story! Thanks for sharing and keep that one locked up!! I've got a couple custom "safeties" on mine where even if I left the keys in it, you wouldn't get it started. Best thing is just don't give someone the opportunity and make it a little harder to steal and most lazy thieves won't take the time to mess with it.

That supershort pod filter straight onto the throttle body would not be at all healthy for the motor. I know it looks cleaner without any piping but it wouldnt be getting the correct cold air from the front. Also would be lacking natural power having hot engine bay air and not reaching behind the block to surpass into the aircleaner. Going a factory B16 aircleaner box and pipe would look super nice and also look after the motor alot better in the long run. Fellow honda owner from Australia. Great video and beautiful ride.

Thanks. I've covered this about 10 times in the comments already. My car is definitely a mix of function and form. The air filter is definitely on the side of form. Yes I'm making less hp having it this wag but I put a ton of work shaving my bay and want to show it off. Plus, it's really such little power diff either way I don't really care. And because my bay is shaved I no longer have any of the mounting holes for a stock box. If I want to make more power I take big steps like boosting it or rip it out and swap in a K20. Or maybe put a b20 block under it. I agree that stick boxes look great but no longer possible in this car because I chose to go a different route. If I had a stock bay I'd run the box. My bay is highly modified. Thanks for watching
