Please read complete hadith below, Sahih al-Bukhari 5063 Narrated Anas bin Malik: A group of three men came to the houses of the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) asking how the Prophet (ﷺ) worshipped (Allah), and when they were informed about that, they considered their worship insufficient and said, "Where are we from the Prophet (ﷺ) as his past and future sins have been forgiven." Then one of them said, "I will offer the prayer throughout the night forever." The other said, "I will fast throughout the year and will not break my fast." The third said, "I will keep away from the women and will not marry forever." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came to them and said, "Are you the same people who said so-and-so? By Allah, I am more submissive to Allah and more afraid of Him than you; yet I fast and break my fast, I do sleep and I also marry women. So he who does not follow my tradition in religion, is not from me (not one of my followers).

Selamun Aleykum I see many comments which arent really getting the point of sufism. Many people nowadays mix their own things in Islam and then call it sufism but that is not the truth behind it. True sufism isnt its own religion but mainly focuses on leaving behind your worldy matters so your soul will more and more get occupied only with the rememberance and obligations to Allah. Many people dont understand this. Its living Islam to the utmost humanly possible limit BUT still keep it inside the Quran and Sunnah. The most common way of sufis is to use all the time you have to remember (Dhikr) and to worship god. Obliterate your own Ego, dont live to please others, dont live to please your Ego, live solely to train your Soul to exist only for Allah (At least as much as you can). And in the remembrance and worhship to Allah our souls will find Peace and complete their meaning of existence. So truly what is better, next to fulfilling our Fard and Sunnah obligations, than occupying our time with Dhikr of Allah and making dua and gaining knowledge about him? True sufism is to only live for Allah. This may not be the best video that explains it. But there is so much knowledge in Sufism. Oh yea and important to keep this in mind: Many people who say they are Sufis and doing weird or crazy stuff dont really know what they are talking about. A true Sufi would never say that he is one. Because he has no need to. Because all he is, is a muslim who sacrifices all his time and all of his world and ego to train his soul to be closer to god. I hope you read this Bobby. Sufism is not a Path that is a bad one. It is the best kind of muslim. But the essence is very forgotten nowadays because of so many people that are doing weird stuff and saying its sufism.

In that case that just means a good muslim no? Why does that have to even have a label, and what's with the whirling dervishes and dhikr circle, it all looks occultish to me. Does building a family means living for Allah? Does getting a good job means living for Allah? Imo it does? That's what majority of sunni do anyways without the sufi label, is it a coincidence that sufism is largely associated with the whirling dervishes and other odd practices

If you study the lives of, junaid of Baghdad, Abu yazid bustami, Al ghazzali, Abdul kadir jilani may Allah the exalted have mercy upon them All. You would see they followed the sharia and they criticized Sufis going to extremes. Most of the people who claimed to follow them became innovators.

You seem to see Sufi as dancing, whirling dervishes, this is only a part of a ritual of the dervishes to be on a higher stage in life, towards a nearness to nature - it is possible! There are other sublimations in Sufi apart from the "whirling dances."

Another important thing is that the Sufis played a major role in spreading Islam. They left the comfort of their home and family, traveled with some companions far and wide into lands where wild animals roamed. They spread Islam without war or conflict simply by their wisdom, love and their way of interacting with people while facing opposition from the local polytheist kings and priests. Many of those who criticise them leave their Muslim majority homeland to go enjoy the riches of the West, sit in front of their screens and parrot exactly what some government paid scholar told him to.

Every prophet who taught that God is *ONE,* also taught that God *ENTERS CREATION.* *FIVE* examples of the God of Jewish scripture (the *Shekinah* or presence/glory of God *ENTERING CREATION* and *dwelling among the people* in the books of the prophets of old, and the stunning prophecy from the prophets about the *glory of the Lord* appearing to mankind in the form of *JESUS!* 1. In the Torah, *God entered the temple and dwelt with mankind.* God instructed Moses: "And let them make me a sanctuary; that *I may dwell among them."* (Exodus 25:8). Was this Allah of the Qur’an? 'Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the *glory of the Lord* filled the tabernacle. Moses could not enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the *glory of the Lord* filled the tabernacle.' (Exodus 40:34). Was this God whose glory entered the tabernacle of Moses, Allah of the Qur’an who can not enter creation? No. God would give Moses commands from *inside* the tabernacle in the Holy of Holies above the Ark of the Covenant (Exodus 25:22) 4. Later, during the time of Solomon, the glory of God filled the temple again: 'When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the *glory of the Lord* above the temple, they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying, “He is good; his *love* endures forever.” (2 Chronicles 7:1‭-‬3). His love? Yes, out of His *love,* not *weakness.* Because-unlike the out-of-reach Kaaba god who 'sends down a STONE from heaven' to Muslims-the true God of Israel, the Almighty, loves his people and HIMSELF comes down and *dwells with them!* This is the clearest evidence that the one ☝️ (monotheistic) 7th century FALSE god of the Kaaba is not the one (monotheistic) TRUE God of Abraham of the previous scriptures who does enter creation. Allah's claim is the biggest ever act of deception since the creation of the world. Scriptures warned that Satan would come to disguise himself as the Most High God (Isaiah 14:12-14) and even try to imitate God's righteousness (2 Corinthians 11:14-15) 5. John the Baptist then confirms the prophecy of Isaiah is about himself, John (the voice of one calling in the wilderness) preparing the way for Jesus: 'This is he [Jesus] who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’ ” (Matthew 3:3). "In the beginning was the *Word,* and the *Word was with God,* and *the Word was God.* The *Word became flesh* and *made his dwelling among us.* We HAVE SEEN *his glory,* the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.(John 1:1‭, ‬14) The title 'Son of God' simply means God, who is spirit, added flesh to his divine nature. Allah is *not the God of Abraham of JEWISH AND CHRISTIAN SCRIPTURES.* It's a pity that beloved Muslims believe in the *FRAUD* that the *oneness* (monotheism/Tawhid) of their god of the Kaaba means that he is the *SAME* monotheistic God revealed through Moses and the Prophets in Jewish scripture (Deuteronomy 6:4). Same concept of monotheism therefore same God? *No.* Is monotheism the ONLY attribute required to test Allah of the Qur'an's 7th century claim to be the monotheistic Judeo-Christian God of Abraham, the Creator and Most High God? Satan, who also claims to be God, would easily pass this test since he is monotheistic too. So, holding on to just one attribute is a *False Dilemma Fallacy* because it falsifies or limits the results by relying only on ONE attribute and ignoring MANY other attributes which would have helped give a more accurate result, right? Allah's strange claim to be the Judeo-Christian God of the Bible goes like this: Al-'Ankabut (QS 29:46). "...We believe in all that is revealed to us *[Muslims]* and in that which has been revealed to you *[Jews and Christians],* and our God and your God is One, and to Him we stand resigned." *CLASH: DOES GOD ENTER CREATION OR DOES HE NOT?* It was common knowledge to all the Prophets of Israel, as revealed in Jewish scripture, that the *Shekinah* (presence/glory of God) *enters creation,* but strangely, the glory of Allah of the Qur’an-revealed in the 7th century- *does not enter creation* (Sahih Muslim 179). How are they the same God? The amazing Almighty is able to enter our space since he is not bound by time, space and location. God is LOVE (1 John 4:8), so out of his *love* (not weakness) he chooses to dwell among the people who are the masterpiece of his creation. For example, in the Jewish Torah: 1. God walked in the garden of Eden (Genesis 3:8), which is not in heaven but was located on earth, serviced by the rivers Pishon, Gihon, Tigris and the Euphrates (Genesis 2). 2. God appeared to Abraham on earth as a man (Genesis 18:1-15). 3. *The glory of God* (Shekinah) descended as a cloud and *entered the temple/tabernacle of Moses (Exodus 40:34) and Solomon (2 Chronicles 7:1‭-‬3) and dwelt among the Israelites.* That is why Jews pray facing the temple in Jerusalem. When the prophets taught, *"Hear, O Israel: the LORD our God, the LORD is ONE* (Deuteronomy 6:4), this is the monotheistic God of Abraham they taught about, not the 7th century Allah of the Muslims who does not enter creation! 4. Finally, God DID enter creation when he *entered the temple/tabernacle that was the BODY of Jesus (Isaiah 40:3-5, Malachi 3:1 and John 2:19-21) and dwelt among mankind* (John 1:14). Jesus is the Glory of God in the flesh (John 1:1, 14)! The Muslim will say: *"but our God does not enter creation because he is Most High and exalted above the earth".* Muslims are free to share many wonderful reasons why Allah of the Qur’an does not enter creation but that would present Islam with *a serious problem* because what Allah claims about himself *(not entering creation)* is in *conflict* with the God of the previous scriptures *who enters creation* and whom Allah of Islam claimed to be (QS 29:46). Are you at least honest enough to see this problem of conflict? If you *claim* to have a Ferrari, then your car must *actually* be 100% identical to the Ferrari you claimed it to be-such as *having a Ferrari engine, for example.* This is a basic principle of *claim* and *actuality.* Ferrari makes its own engines. *You can't claim to have a Ferrari which does not have a Ferrari engine!* If your car is different from the Ferrari you claim it to be, (such as not having a Ferrari engine) then you are a liar because your claim is false. Just as it is a central feature for Ferrari to have its own engines, it is a central feature of the true God of Abraham of the previous scriptures that his glory enters creation. Therefore, Allah of the Qur’an, because of his *claim* (QS 29:46), must be *actually* 100% identical to the God of the previous scriptures he claimed to be, whose *glory enters creation.* This is a basic principle of *claim* and *actuality,* right? If Allah of the Qur’an is different to the God of the previous scriptures he claims to be *(such as not entering creation)* then Allah of the Qur'an's is not the true God of the previous scriptures but is another god claiming to be the true God. *You can not be different to what you claimed to be.* Allah of the Qur’an is a false god. If you claim to have a Ferrari, it must have a Ferrari engine, Ferrari badge, look like a Ferrari and sound like a Ferrari, otherwise it is not a Ferrari but another car claimed to be a Ferrari! If God enters creation, appears to Abraham as man and enters and fills the tabernacle/temple of Moses and Solomon, then He surely is the true God of Abraham whom the Jews and Christians believe in and *not* Allah the 7th century false god of the Qur'an. *Islam stands alone as a false Abrahamic religion.* Beloved Muslim, come back to the true God of Abraham of the previous scriptures who enters creation because he loves and desires a relationship with mankind.

No actually the new people aren’t attracted to it, until they learn more. That’s what I’ve seen and experienced but both of us might have it differently. Either way tasawwuf is a science in Islam, but one needs to learn it from qualified shuykh who have ijazah. Not some bob and harry who think they feel enlighten or else they will lead to innovations that go against the ijma.

Tasawwuf is deeply rooted in islam and it's akhlaq, adab, raising your own soul to have best character and utmost respect for all living beings and strictly keeping to shariah, and doing as much as nafil ibadah as possible, and one of main characteristic is knighthood. dthikr is mentioned in the quran , with thidkr the hearts of the believers will have peace and shakinah , but dancing , beating drums , whirling , circles , tareeqa , all that was innovated way many years after the prophet and his companions , the essence of true faith is to follow not innovate , we have an excellent example in prophet muhamad and imam ali and the rightous followers , good examples to follow , in following them there is guidance

There’s one thing you must understand though; You guys keep saying “innovation” like it’s always bad, when it’s not necessarily the case at all. The Quran is meant for all ages till the end of time, and Allah KNOWS that we’ll eventually evolve in technology. Allah never prohibited the use of stuff (especially the things to aid us in iman) that simply weren’t available in the time of the prophet. Common example is the masbaha, someone innovated it but it’s simply made to make counting easier for us. That’s a GOOD innovation! A BAD innovation would be like for example adding a religious event (purely made by me) in the official Islamic calendar for the whole world to follow. Or alter the halal slaughter by electrocution. Or create a 6th Salah between Asir and Duhur for example. These are BAD innovations. Now what about the drums and dances you might be asking? Sufis try to use different methods (all of which don’t change the religion in any way to be bad “innovations”) in order to get closer to Allah to make it easier for them, they might sing an islamic poetry with a bit of drumming sounds that could increase their wajd. It’s simply there to help them get closer to Allah. And also to end on a note: You do realize that by saying something is “Haram”, you imply that the thing is as enough as deserving to get in Jahanam over. So please don’t haramize everything just because you’re a conservative thinker. Allah said that if there was ink the size of 7 oceans, the oceans will deplete before his words do.. and yet he gave us a Quran with just around 360 pages.. in other words, it’s very very eloquent! You should analyze and understand every single ayah and understand what it *means* instead of just what it said.

Very well done. Sufism is but the internal dimension of al-Islam, and constitutes the spiritual half of the faith. It is indispensable just as the body requires the soul, and its primary purpose is the cultivation of sincerity, humility, and nearness to and knowledge of God. May Allah guide to what is best!

Absolutely stunning subjects to dive deeper into, because I just don't know why tho, we as a human just already have this substance inside our brain, and the way we release those substances is actually the important thing here. Because there were steps to achieve those experience, whether it's a terrible trip or a beautiful one, there will always be lessons that we can take to improve ourselves in living this temporary given by God.. Just preparing ourselves for the absolute reality.. And Bobby, how do we start even before the starting point? I mean, how do we prepare for those experience? If all of us already in the stage 3 how we start the stage 4 to complete the stage 5 and do it properly without harming ourselve..? please make more video about this.. a thread that binds the entire universe, I managed to see it and dive in, and when reality felt very ephemeral,and when the feeling we get from looking at thousands of years of knowledge and experience we gain in just one second there.. how do we give our feelings and experiences and develops them to actually helps other people too?

@@muslim5067it doesn’t, why would the jinns lead people to Islam instead of away from it? This is the same argument Christians try to use when they say “Muhammad was led by the devil”. We need spiritual and physical proofs for Islam or else that would mean Islam is only rationally true but has no presence of God in it. Tasawwuf is a science that helps with the spiritual aspect of Islam. If one goes directly against the ijma then we reject that practice but tasawwuf doesn’t interact with the jinn. That’s pseudo spirituality (using weed psychedelics etc) and not Islam.

A great resource I'd recommend for anyone interested in getting a sense of Tasawuff, should get a copy of the book titled, "The Hundred Steps" by Shaykh Abdal-Qadir as-sufi. It's a contemporary work that defines key terms & concepts in Tasawuff but is still rooted in traditional Tasawuff not the pseudo Tasawuff practiced by western occultists like Theosophy etc. Highly recommend it as a resource for anybody interested in realising the words of the messenger of Allah (Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) when he was asked what is Ihsan. And he replied, "To worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you don't see Him know that He sees you."

Very good video with clarifications and distinctions. Pacifist, and in many cases apologetic types,who like to use tasavvuf as their coverup, like Hamza Yusuf&Co., should remember that sufis in our past didn't back of with various excuses when times got tough. They knew when it was time for dhikr(zikr), and when it was time to fight. Examples: sufi orders in Salahaddin's army, Janissary corps (Bektashi order) in the Ottoman army, Imam Shamil of Caucasus/Dagestan, sufi of Naqshbandi order..and many others

Balance is key! That’s definitely a point in commonality. Unlike those who want to terminate the whole inner dimension of religion, even if against evidence from the prophetic sunnah and the sahaba and tabieen.

Imam Shafi had said in his diwan, be both a sufi and a faqih, and not just one of them. So one can only practise tasawwuf when one practises fiqh properly.

Balance is the key. Even historically, the most respected scholarly figures from the past from Al Ghazali to Ibn Qayyim, all displayed this balance between the inner dimension and the outer one.

Muhammad (pbuh) also meditated so it is understood that meditation is not bad. Zikr is also a form of meditation. The real meaning of meditation is to reach the Creator. But in Sufism, there are some meaningless activities, which have no Islamic basis. For example, Whirling dance.

@@YousefIlIl As the Prophet (saw) had gotten the first revelations from the Angel Gabriel, he (saw) had a regular practice of retiring to the caves in the mountains. This can be interpreted as regular meditation / contemplation. If it was haram, the Prophet (saw) would have never had done it even before his prophethood.

It doesn't make sense to say he is in everything or that he dwells in everything. Quickest way to lose to a Christian too. Come back to the true Aqidah.

Bobby, just ask yourself did the profit peace be upon him do this? Did his companions do this? This what differentiate Islam from any other man-made religions

Bobby just ask yourself one thing, did the Prophet ﷺ or his companions do these “spiritual trances and circles”? If they didn’t, then either these actions that came after are better than what the Prophet ﷺ taught. Or it’s a wicked innovation that has no basis in Islam. If you choose the first answer then I fear for you. If you choose the second answer then we’re in agreement and therefore leaving these actions is the way to go. Islam has a spiritual connection with Allah and that is exactly how the Prophet ﷺ did it, by acts of legitimate worships in private such as praying in the middle of the night, fasting in secret, and other private acts of worship. You see, ma'daAllah, you will find this pattern even with mainstream islam. People would go and call themselves upright sunni muslims while they commit the worst acts of deception, betrayal, scam, and what not, against a fellow brother in islam, effectively "eating from their meat". does this mean that islam is corrupt in and of itself? No. only those who claim to be as such are. Same thing with tasawwuf. You will find good hearted, pure monotheistic (tawheed), upright muslims who are in touch with the spiritual side of islam, and you will find imposters (dancers, shirk...). For actual references, you can look at the ancient scholars of Islam like Al Ghazali, or even Ibn Qayyim, who not just acknowledged the value of tassawuf but even demonstrated you can balance masterfully between such dimensions of islam. Hence, dancing is one thing, meditating on dhikr is another. One is nowhere to be found in quran and sunnah, the other is found and proven. Personally, I see alot of what the so-called sufis do today and I oppose it. Some of it is baseless, other is shirk which I find disturbing. But it's only when you sit either alone or with a group of good hearted muslims who want to remember Allah sincerely and wholeheartedly through dhikr, only then will you know the power of it. A sincere session can be a soul altering experience.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say here. Again the golden question in Islam is, did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his companions do it or not? If they did then you need to prove it with authentic sources but if they didn’t then we should leave what they left because there is no path of goodness and righteousness except that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ showed us and lead us to it. And tasawuf as is understood nowadays is as a whole not based in Islam or the teachings of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ or his companions. Now leaving off love of this dunya and focusing on the Akhira and having zuhd that is the way of the Prophet ﷺ and his companions and their students. But there was never these sessions where people gather and try to go into trances by awkward dancing and chants As for the ghazali who you quoted, then you should know the man and his beliefs which he outlines in his books and I can tell you after looking into them, the man isn’t what most people prop him up to be. For one, he came almost 6 centuries after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Furthermore by his own admission his knowledge of Hadith is weak as he states in his own writing. And on top of all this, he called to practices that clearly goes against the teachings of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ such as these Sufi dances and rituals as he outlined in his own books As for Ibn Al Qayim, again people confuse having an attached heart to the acts of worship which Islam calls for with these evil Sufi practices The term Sufi wasn’t even used till later in Islam, closer to the 3rd century early 4th. People confuse zuhd with tasawuf and although early tasawuf wasn’t like later ones with major acts of shirk and crazy dance rituals, they did go more extreme in the way they dressed deliberately and avoided work all to try to be extreme zuhad but that wasn’t the way of the Prophet ﷺ or his companions who had the most spiritual connection to Allah with zuhd and yet they all worked, had families, some even had money and major trades and were still zuhad like Uthman ibn Affan and Abdurrahman ibn Awf May Allah be pleased with them and others Point is the teachings of Sufis as now known is utterly false and not based in any teachings of the Prophet ﷺ or his companions

All these comments saying Suffism is about meditation, zikr, purification, getting closer to the Creator, etc... Also mentioning of Prophet's ﷺ seclusion in the Cave of Hira.. Guys, if the above is the correct definition of Sufism, then how do you put it together with dances Suffists perform in mosques, while shouting and whistling, with music in background. Group dancing to music - is this what you mean by meditation and seclusion?... And this is not a big deal compared to what some extreme groups of Suffists do - belief in awliyas with karamats (basically superpowers you can see in marvel movies, for example), some of them even control the universe; also doing dua to them, etc. Your definition of Suffism and what Suffists actually do nowadays - two completely different things. I saw a video where a Suffist says that on the Day of Judgment, when the prophets and martyrs will stand in line, they will see people with wings fly over them to Paradise, and that they will envy these people, and when they ask who these people are, it will be said that these are the murids (followers) of such and such a sheikh, founder of one of the Suffi tariqas. This is just one example.

I was gonna ask did the Prophet do spinny thing as 'meditation', sufism seems so wrong, it opens up to too much interpretation and rabbit holes, are there any resources i can read more on sufism, this is all just too confusing

You see, ma'daAllah, you may see this even with mainstream islam. People call themselves upright sunni muslims while they go and commit the worst acts of deception, betrayal, scam, and what not, against a fellow brother in islam, effectively "eating from them". But this doesn't mean that islam is corrupt in and of itself, only those who claim to be as such are. Same thing with tasawwuf. You will find good hearted, pure monotheistic (tawheed), upright muslims who are in touch with the spiritual side of islam, while you will find imposters. For actual references, you can look at the ancient scholars of Islam like Al Ghazali who demonstrated you can balance masterfully between all dimensions of islam. Hence, dancing is one thing, meditating on dhikr is another. One is nowhere to be found in quran and sunnah, the other is found and proven. Personally, I see alot of what the so-called sufis do today and I oppose it. Some of it is baseless, other is shirk which I find disturbing. But it's only when you sit either alone or with a group of good hearted muslims who want to remember allah through dhikr, only then will you know the power of it.

Interesting video Bobby, I'd love to learn more about it. I have a few Muslim friends who call themselves Sufis. However, I admit that I thought of them as followers of a sect. I have always been interested in how they live and practice, and how it relates to the teachings of Allah. These guys practice magic, wear amulets, bow to idols, use crystals, tarot, clairvoyance and what not. They don't see anything wrong with stimulants either. "Just do what you want". I don't see space and love for God in all this, but rather an attempt to achieve superpowers. I feel like this is a mistake and I am being careful because for me what my friends are doing is a misunderstood spiritual development, but I am willing to explore the topic more on my own as you are giving me a new perspective on Sufism, for which I am very grateful. The prophet said the best generations are the 3 first generation of Islam (Salaf). Follow them in their beliefs and worship

Shaytan beautifies and enchants for these people these mystic actions, thinking they really enter a different realm, get in touch with the depts of their hearts and souls or have some kind of access to part of the unseen. Never ever did the prophet did this or encouraged to do this, and no one is closer to Allah than him and no one worshipped Allah better than him. Islam is clear and this is nothing but a deviation.

Islam teaches us to keep a balance. Its important we dont go extreme in either direction. Middle path is the straight path.

One of the main reasons we try to increase our love for Allah Supana and His Messenger peace be upon him, is because we as humans generally submit completely to the one we love. And being that Allah is the ultimate goal and submission is what draws us near to Him if we increase our love of Him we will submit to Him Azawagel Insh'Allah. ❤✌🤲

Experience wise, I once had an experience, like an omen kind of. Even now i dont know what to call it. There was a time after school, i was all alone in a bus stop, reading the Quran because i thought i dont have anything to do, despite how close examination is. I remember i read specifically 2 verses that spoke about "pleasure thyself with prayers in the morning till noon. And pleasure thyself with prayers in the night." or something similar like that. After i read it, suddenly there was wind passing, a very cooling wind, very breezing. At first i didnt mind it and reading back the verses, a habit i sometimes do with the Quran. But again, wind passed after i read it. Then i was curious to why that happened. So i read again, then followed by wind. And i repeated it almost 5 times, all with the same result. What i want to point out is that some people can have experiences, unempirical to anyone, whether the person is truthful or not, can be in some way or some form a divine inspiration. Mysticism. As i read an overview of biography of Ibn Arabi just now, he also had experience with mystical event in the form of dreams, and also written in it experience with prophet Khidr God be pleased with him. As of my current life, im still not a practicing muslim, often leaving salah every now and then. But reading through "What The Seeker Needs" book by Ibn Arabi in English translation, i suddenly now think to worship God in every way and everything i do. Not just in salah, but every actions in my life. This gave me a new hope, an inspiration for me to become more closer to God, because being closer to God means we become what God approves and loves for. God loves righteousness and forbade evil. God created evil in relation to goodness. Our life wouldnt be more realistic without hardships and tests, the reason why God creates the world and the universe in the first place

Salaams my man Bobby. Two recommendations (if you ever read this comment): 1. Missing your health vids. Lots of Muslims are horribly unhealthy and have no idea about keto diets/carnivore diets and dangers of veganism, lack of exercise and obesity. 2. I am a sufi - traditional one. Traditionally Muslims were always Sufi. We did have outliers with dancers and stuff but if you want to have a real discussion with a traditional scholar (majority of Muslims today remain traditional) please consider having a chat with Shaikh Dr Shadee Al Masry. Sufism is all about having a pure heart by displacing the love of this dunya with the love for Allah and for this you need to follow and love the Prophet Muhammad and his instructions to us. Most sufis consider dancing as bida. We love Imam Rumi and Imam Ghazali but they did not go into extra-Islamic practices over the expense of your obligatory prayers, fasting and shariah.

To increase the spirituality of the Sahaba, Allah made the night prayer (tahajjud) obligatory for one year. The sacrifice they made for Allah, build their character and connection to him and prepared them spiritually for the struggle on his path.

Brother I invite you to read the book by one of the greatest Muslim scholar who is known for his topics in tasawuuf,irfan, philosophy and spirituality in general. The book is called Spiritual Journeying and wayfarying by bahar al ulum. Be advised tho not to be so aspirant cuz many people deviated from the path.

I see a strong connection between Sufism and Christian Monasticism. which god says about it (( Then We sent following their footsteps [i.e., traditions] Our messengers and followed [them] with Jesus, the son of Mary, and gave him the Gospel. And We placed in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy and monasticism, which they innovated; We did not prescribe it for them except [that they did so] seeking the approval of Allāh. But they did not observe it with due observance. So We gave the ones who believed among them their reward, but many of them are defiantly disobedient)) [57:27] My conclusion is that Sufism is not for everyone, and parents should not raise their children on it, Sufism is something one has to choose to adopt and live by and should never be imposed on anyone.

That is true, one shouldn’t go extremes in being devoted to Allāh ﷻ which the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ warned of. But instead follow the way of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the pious which tasawwuf teaches but some go extreme in it.

Westerners dont differentiate between sufism as in sufi sectarianism vs tassawuf aka the science of the soul, which is essence of traditional Islam, the ways and wisdoms upon which an individual purifies their heart/nafs, muraqabbah is one of such practices, practiced by virtually all elite muslims from Islamic Golden age, even by Ghazali himself. Giving to charity/saddakkah is also one such practice as well as dhikr and Quranic recitation.

exactly but knowing how salafis are teaching the faith, you will pretty much never hear them talk about purifying the nafs, contemplating about deeper social or psychological issues that plague people or just how to make your ahlaq more excellent, almost as if they reject tassawuf alltogether@@YungRamo

Also sufism is very wide, so it is not only specific to ottomans. There is Iranian sufism for example which is very different from this video.

Imam Al Ghazali went through many stages and he recanted his earlier beliefs. He believed that one should only follow the path of the Salafs and not innovations. No, the philosophers like ibn Sina and Ibn Farabi were denounced by imam Ghazali. Mystic Sufism is not Islam. Bobby do some more research.

For those who have doubts on this dimension, remember that the Prophet (pbuh) literally used to visit Hiraa cave for prolonged periods of time, meditating, fasting, remembering in the form dhikr, and this is true sunnah of the inner dimension of our religion that some would refer to as mysticism or sufism. Let us be honest and not pretend it isn’t. May Allah guide us all.

He used to visit the cave and meditate before revelation. After Allah chose him for prophethood, HE taught him how to worship HIM. We worship Allah in our 5 daily prayers, reading Quran and our day to day interactions at work, at home and in between

The meditation in cave Hira was not mystical. Prophet Muhammad SAW reflected on the Bounties of Allah and the wrongs of his society. Mystic Sufism developed centuries later in the Persian regions, which was, Babylon-the capital of Magic.

Personally I'm not against nor with these "Sufism" activities as long they don't violate the Sharia. Also over practicing things in the name of Religion that the Prophet and his Rashidun didn't do it, cannot be called part of religion.

Bobby Wallahi you have a better understanding of Islam then most Muslims, this was always a part of Islam in the beginning, people have forgotten about the spiritual element of Isalm and view it has something new, The prophet peace be upon him by definition was a Sufi , today we use labels to divide ourselves your on the right path keep on going my brother , Ask Allah to guide you. I spent the first 20 years of being a Muslim just going through the rituals and motions then I discover Sufism and felt like I found the true Islam finally it’s a whole new rabbit hole enjoy the journey my brother
