I have been reading up on Vaesen. I think the concept will allow for some amazing episodic sessions, while the character creation allows for the players to roleplay and build off each other. I hope to do a video on it when I have time again! As for Heart, I have been running it for awhile and think it perfectly balances the game with its stress system alone. Don't be scared to create, though. Items aren't just dice and tags; you can give them magic or special abilities to make them more interesting!

Sorry for how long it took to get back to this! I honestly did not expect people to stumble on this channel, so I forgot about it for a time. I am glad you enjoyed though! I just got this (physical copy and bundled PDF version) and Darkest Dungeon is on the Suggested Media list in both versions, right between Borders by Emptyset and Ficciones by Jorge Luis Borges. Was the review copy a pre-release version or something?

Really? I know the version I referenced for this video claims it is first edition (2020). I wonder if they did some small updates after it released? Either way, that part was more of a tangent than anything. I don't think it hurts the review at all, it was more surprise than anything!

I know this question is several months old, but to give you a very late answer, I think it could. Advancement would be tricky though since this game give abilities from succeeding story beats. Something I got rid of. General vibe and atmosphere of the setting is also difficult to replicate, but this is definitely a system that could be played with few people. Possibly with none based on the Emulator.
