@@Chizinky What are you even talking about? Players are retiring all the time. Even big names like Rizzo or Turbo, it's nothing new. Making Content is often more financially viable for players who managed to build up big channels, you also don't have the pressure of making a LAN or winning events and Squishy didn't make the last 4 Majors and last World Championship and literally hasn't won a single thing since Winter 21/22 He makes more money with content It's less stressful He doesn't have a real chance at winning Why the fuck would he want to continue playing? It doesn't have anything to do with Rocket League declining Players retiring to make content or to coach or to pursue some other career is super normal for Rocket League and every other esport as well. I get that Squishy is a famous player but that is part of the reason he is retiring. He has a big following and thus is able to make a living from content creation. Look I get that Rocket League is hitting some rough times but you don't have to cry about everything.

Yep, and Epic/Psyonix do not care if it does or doesn't, they will do nothing to try and keep the player base, it is simply in no interest in them because it isn't worth the money. If the player base and revenue keep coming in, it is only on the backs of players, content creators and the community which cost them little nothing. They pushed idle on RL many years ago and just check up on it every once in a while to see if they should pull the plug or not.

They are trying to make Fortnite this hub for all games in the processing ruining this one of a kind, amazing game that could still be an extremely popular game if they just put any effort into it or hired the right people.

The game is finished, there is no need for them to continue updating it. Now they only add features for players to waste more money. It began as a game, now it is a shop. The game won't get better, don't delude yourself, but have fun while it still exist. If it gets better, then we all experienced a miracle. This is close to something I had theorized when Rocket Racing was first announced. It would only make sense that they create the rocket racing mode almost as a play test for UE5 RL. My guess was that end of 2024, or maybe 2025 to cash in on the 10 year anniversary, they were going to announce something along the lines of "Rocket League has joined the Fortniteverse!" and then axe the standalone game. It makes sense from Epic's standpoint as it would indirectly funnel more players to fortnite.

Definitely expect UE5- Rocket league to be part of Fortnite. And while I’m ok with that, I also expect it to not be anything like current RL, they’re gonna scuff all the mechanics etc.

By the sounds of things, Psyonix is on the verge of being dissolved. I don't think RLCS is going to be around in another year or two. Not paying players, "expiring" their winnings, nickel and diming them on travel expenses, added onto how badly they've messed up the RLCS schedule and how many casters got canned, all signs point to it being on the verge of going under.

damn, that sounds really bad when you put it that way, though i just hope that all of the problem happen because the changing of rlcs organizer, i imagine theres a lot of administration work to do, compiling data from the previous organizer, trying out some budget cuts, etc if this still happen when major 2 or major 3 comes arround, then rl is fucked

Sad to see. Epic games doesn’t care about their player base. They care about their child: fortnite. It’s just depressing to see the downfall of a unique game. In OCE playlists are significantly less populated over the last month or 2. At some times of the day no one even bothers queuing 3s then as it gets later no one queues 2s and it just becomes 1s where its you vs the only other person in your rank rematching- in comp?! Its a joke.

I think you need to get a commissioner, and take the league away from Epic and just run it on its own. Spalding basketballs don't own the NBA.

It's not rocket league it's happening to. It's all of esports. And a lot of tech. I recommend upper echelons video.

I imagine the only competitive scene will be underground in 2 years at this rate. It is quite disappointing to see how there is literally no good news for Rocket League right now. It isn't the community either. It's 100% Epic and Psyonix. Not sure who is more responsible.. but man I just don't get the sense the higher ups want this scene to be alive much longer.

Epic has ruined this game! I have been unable to play my main account the past 5 mos because of an issue with their servers. 5 years of building up the account and items. Now that trading is no longer available, all my items are held ransom by Epic. They can't figure out their issues.

I don't know if Ferra or Vitality get a portion of the $600k, but even if they do Zen's World's payout alone would still be 6-figures before taxes, right? That's not an insignificant amount of money to just be dangling out there.

It’s honestly maddening how little Epic gives a fuck about this game. They really went out of their way to fix something that wasn’t broken by absolutely destroying it. These people are so hopelessly out of touch with reality if they think this is a long term strategy that is going to work out for them in a positive way. ALL THEY ARE DOING is negative, nobody likes any of this, let alone the shit they did back in December… who the fuck is the big boss here? They need to be fired, not the devs who worked on this game for so long.

no professional sports team needs to travel a WEEK in advance to play anywhere in the world. i’ve played college football for ab 3 years now and we’ve travelled to almost everywhere around the country. i’ve had to fly to hawaii for a game. and we were able to get around 150-200 personal and about 4 tons of equipment all to the location ab 5-6 hours before the game start time. NOT ONE TIME DID WE COME ILL PREPARED. if esports orgs can’t get their shit together and adequately prepare their pros, then consider switching businesses bc clearly they aren’t willing to do the bare minimum to compete.

Flying from coast to coast in the US is a 5 and a bit hour flight. Cali to Germany is 12. It's about the time zone change. When everyone is sleeping, you're normally up and vice versa. It's essentially adjusting to the midnight shift 3 times a year when you normally work 9-5.

Flying from Florida to California for instance? Is a 3 hour difference. No biggie. You're playing 3 hours earlier or later. Normally play at 6pm? Now you're playing at what would be 3pm Now imagine you're used to playing at 6pm..... You fly 12 hours and are now playing at what would be 3am your time. Would you play at home at 3am as effectively as playing in your normal evening, sleep cycle adjusted time 6pm? No.

@@SpookyGuyRL but the thing is they have time to adjust sleep schedule. it only takes ab a week tops to adjust. granted it won’t be perfect, but that’s just how it will have to be. i was playing in florida when i had to fly out to hawaii for a game, and i started to adjust a week prior along with my teammates. when we got there ( aprx. 5 hour time difference) we were all ready to go. stop allowing these things to be excuses for poor preparation
