What is Fujifilm's best travel camera?

Фильм және анимация

Fujifilm has many travel cameras in their line-up and I look at some of the best options. I look at various trips and pair a Fujifilm camera for each trip that I think would work well.

I don't know why nobody seems to mention the X-T30 or the mark II for that matter, seems to be the most underrated fujifilm camera I absolutely love it, compact and small interchangeable lens camera

My go to Fuji travel camera is the X-E3 with either the 27mm pancake or the 23mm 2.0.

My old fashion choice : X-E 3 with 35mm f/1.4 (original version), and a X-70. All purchased from second hand Japanese market. Btw, I first learnt taking photos during the film age. Now in my 70s, I am still learning to take photos with this humble equipment. In retirement, my goal is to have two overseas vacations annually and take some travel photos for keeping me physically and mentally active (I also take some snapshots locally if the weather is fine). 😊

Great. But you should try the X30, even isn't apsc sensor. It has a good balance of quality, portability and features. And my silver model is beautiful. It's a mini x100. Regards

On my recent trip overseas I packed the Pro1 along w/ 18-55mm zoom as my main camera and the magical X70 as a filler camera. Must say the choice was most spot on, used both of them in circumstances that would impede one of them. Considering weight restrictions on flights this set up with 3 batteries was lightweight. Going on trips always raises the risk of stuff getting stolen or damaged. I would differ w/ your advice Chris and for sure never take new and expensive gear such as X-H2 or X-T5. I visited the Gilmore car museum in Michigan that houses the most impressive old American car collection. The Pro1 w/ 18-55 zoom did a magnificent job shooting 2 full batteries worth of pictures w/o use of flash. The detail and color rendition is still top flight for that old camera in adverse lighting conditions. Most of those pictures were at ISO values larger than 2000. Few days I became a proud owner of an X-T1 and perhaps in future the T1 may outcompete the Pro1 as a travel camera. Great job Chris, keep them videos coming.

Taking my X-E1 to Greece this year. I can get 5 manual focus ttartisan lenses in an 8x5x2.5" OP/Tech case and it's about the size of a shaving kit

@@brianode11 I really like the 25 f/2 for an everyday walkaround lens, nice and sharp and very compact. And the 35 f/.95 is fantastic for the size and price and great in low light. I also have the 23 f/1.4 which is very nice but has some optical oddities, I prefer the 25 f/2 in general. I just got the 7.5mm fisheye which is very fun, just set the focus at infinity and go to town, basically everything will be in focus. Then I got the 50mm f/1.2 for a little more reach which is also nice in low light, and the 17 f/1.4 which I think is one of their best lenses. Basically these things are affordable enough you can get a nice collection for the price of one good AF lens.

    200% agree ! I have a quite similar photographic travel kit with a x-e2s & 3 TTArtisan/7artisans lenses (17mm/25mm/50mm). Easy to carry & stunning quality.

For travel, hiking we use the T20 with the light XC15-45. Before we had a Sony RX100 and sale ist, because the normal pictures are not rearly better then the photos from our Pixel6. Now my wife and I have two S10, the T20 and use all objectives for both cameras if we want it.

For me, great travel combo is Fuji XT-20 with 35mm F1.4 and 18-55mm kit lens. Also 27mm f2.8 if I want to travel really light.

My travel kit of choice is the X-T1 with TTartisans 27mm f2.8, XF 60mm Macro and the XF10 sorts out the wide angle option. I sometimes throw in a X-T20 or X-E3 as a back up option.

I looked a the X100 series and V model which is weather resistant with a lens filter. I went with X-Pro2. I cycle tour and this looked like the best option. The X-Pro2 fits nicely under my jacket with the XF 27mm 1:2.8 WR mounted. Water resistance is a big deal for me. I would love the GFX series but for cycle touring they just take up way too much space. Love your posts.

I own a few aps-c fuji cameras (x-e1, x-e2, and x-t20), and I would say that the x-t20 is my favourite of them all. Is there any reason you haven't purchased that one yet? If I remember correctly you have the x-t30, but they removed the d-pad from that model while the x-t20 still has one. If you're looking for a "new" older fuji camera, I would highly recommend it!

For the city category (and given that any of the more recent X100 series cameras have gotten quite expensive due to the hype around the V), I’d also still say that the X-E2 with one of the f2 prime lenses of one’s personal focal length would be a phenomenal budget pick.
