Read the small print - if the players nation achieves any of the upgrades prior to release then they will NOT be eligible. So if Brazil score 4 tonight and Ronaldo released on Friday he will NOT get any upgrades.

The issue with the US showdown is its another striker. We already got Balogun, Sophia Smith, Alex Morgan, Hamm, Rodman and Press. Sargent isn't making it over any of them. US needs defenders not strikers. This would've been a good time for like a Ream Showdown or Carter-Vickers or Chris Richards...or even a Keeper Showdown or any form of SBC for Matt Turner. If a US team were to have an OBJ, folks would much rather a 6'3 Matt Turner over 5'9 TOTS Campbell. Turner whom has had zero special cards this game, but is one of the best keepers in North America.

@@carlladurner puskas will have 4 99 stats with an engine and 4 playstyles. Dalish is elite level even with how bad Scotland did. Gerrad is there before englands final game schmieal is a top keeper. Ballack hit all upgrades first game and on the low end of elite. Rivaldo is there already before Brazil playing any games. Vidic and hagi are beasts already. Those are most of the current gotg. They will still be beast or elite when the new ones come out. With your logic toty Haaland isn’t at power curve bc he came out 6 months ago. He is easily a top 3 striker in the game still. Some players are just different gravy. To continue with your logic, non of them will matter in 2-3 weeks when tott and futties comes out. You can use month old cards that perform as well if not better than current promos. I packed toty vvd during toty. Yes there are other vvds with increased stats but to think he isn’t still one of the top CBs in game would be wild. There are 4 ps+ evos and 99s that came out months ago that are garbage now and didn’t perform at their card stats from when you can craft them. The face stats can’t be trusted in all situations
