    Breaking things down and looking for the possibilities. This is something what I feel is coherent across all the things you do. What is Design Process? = Design + Process. Break down each and every part of the process and understand it before creating solutions. From "How I started Motion Design using high-school Physics" - Break down your illustration into parts and think about possibilities of motion in each one of them. From "Motion Design Masterclass" Break down complex motion into simpler things like scale, opacity, and position. Wow. I like this way of thinking.

    Love the way you explain in such simplistic way using, layman examples. That makes you stand out among most speakers as your oration skills are very user friendly. I expected a bit more details from this video honestly as most of the places the design process is visualized the same way. I have learnt in the industry that design process varies based on lot of scenarios and often you have to skip things based on timeline & budget constraints. How to tackle those situations effectively and how do you visualize those things in a portfolio. Before explaining it to a recruiter comes the applying phase and screening phase where the recruiters see the portfolio. May be in some other videos in future. :) P.S. - Sapta rhymes well with Sparta. So way to go Sparta!! :D

    Thanks a lot, Srayan! :D I personally feel that examples and analogies are the best way to learn. Hence I use them when I teach :) Here's the thing.. All that we hear are not that complicated. I dont know why there is a perception that process, systems, rules are so rigid and tough. We are designers and our primary work is to simplify things and not complicate them. I think the the point is to understand the first principles.

    Hello Sir, A very big thank you for helping us learn and try designing. But I had a small question and it would be really helpful if you could answer and make a video on it for others too, the question is "How to integrate the designs that we make in Figma and After-effects to our websites and apps?". The designs that we make are just like small videos and are just a visualization of our idea, but what is the process of making it a part of our live websites and apps. Thank you.

  • @saptarshipr

    Hey Devesh.. Not every thing that you make can be implemented using plug and play assets. Some parts of it would need to be coded by the developer, just like anything else. e.g. When you design a menu, the dev doesn't include a simple asset. They build it from their side by using some assets and rules provided by you. It works the same way here.

    Hi Saptarshi , as a beginner I have faced some issues getting into the industry and understanding this vast domain, so I am making a case study on ux ui problems people face while getting into ui ux to get into industry as well as making portfolios . My main request to you is to make a video on how can people make a ux project when they don't have anything to work on yet , ui projects can be shown by designing or redesigning some apps, but how do you make a ux project when you have no real World projects to work on as a beginner , this topic concerns a lot of new comers including me. Thank you !

    Hey Chinmay.. As a short answer, you can always look around yourself. You will see a lot of things both physical (objects around you) and digital (apps and websites) that can be made better. The point is to observe and identify these :) Check out the video that I m going to post tomorrow morning :)

    I like how You relate and explain the importance and value of the design in an easily understandable way that anyone could follow. my request is since the design process is a journey from problem --> solution we might get stuck on some point that can lead to some creative/mind block ( Which I faced many times :/ ). It'd be great if you could explain from your perspective on how to solve this scenario which encounters with almost all the designers. expecting more, as always. You Rock :D

    Hey Shameer.. Glad to know that you found it useful! The process of design is indeed a journey. The creative block that you are talking about happens to everyone :) It's often about our state of mind and not the design problem that we are trying to solve.

    Great video as usual but I have one doubt about Personas.... This one is actually derived from one of your webinars that I attended in which you said that personas have to be dynamic.... To this day that thought has not left my head.... I mean how to do that??.... We humans are not robots... We act in strange ways in different scenarios... And deviate from the set trajectory every now & then... How to generalise all of those scenarios.... And how to cross validate what we've done?

  • @saptarshipr

    @saptarshipr

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hey Ankit, what I meant by dynamism is, the same person (individual) can exhibit the characteristics of different personas (fictional character) based on the situation. Even in general, the exercise of building personas is not a one-time-thing. As and when your product and business changes, the personas may change as well. I hope that clarifies :)

    Devashish.. If you are in India, you can join a B.Des course form any of the reputed institutes like NID, IDC IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati etc. Honesty speaking, a degree in design is not mandatory for a career in Design. It's your competence that matters.
