When calling another country for example UK, what number will be displayed on the recipient screen?

Hey Aliu, the experience may vary by provider, but the general expectation would be the recipient seeing a +1 and then the caller's number. Hey there! A smartphone using wifi only can still make VoIP based calls using the appropriate app (we've got one here: www.nextiva.com/app). This doesn't require a cellular network if one isn't available, and it gives the user the flexibility to work from anywhere using wifi.

Can someone please tell me how to BLOCK a number from calling in?? I have a POLYCOM NEXTIVA VOIP PHONE....UGH!

Internet based products are great until you are visited by a hurricane, tornado, flood, or any other situation that causes internet access to be nonexistant. The worse thing I did was get rid of my hardwired phone service. Some things just can't be replaced with tech.

Hey there, the short answer is yes! If you are making a phone call over the internet, the underlying technology is VoIP as opposed to traditional landlines.

But I think VOIP won't work for my banks. They insist on a number affiliated with a particular device (IMEI?) don't they? I have a problem travelling every few weeks between different countries and constantly changing SIMs (because roaming is too expensive). So even VOIPS won't solve my problem, I think. I want to have a stable number for banking. But apps and push notifications and all that is more complicated and restrictive. I hope you are going to tell me that I am wrong and VOIP is a panacea for hobos on a budget who want to be connected to governments and banks on their own terms.

Hey there! VoIP is able to work without the use of cellular networks while abroad if your devices have access to the internet/WiFi. Otherwise, we recommend checking with experts in your industry regarding rules and regulations around telecommunications.

Would be nice if the X-815 had some kind of programming manual. $300 phone that I can't even program. Total garbage.
