I wish he would have explained what the property owner can do and what the easement holder can do on that easement. Also, who is responsible for upkeep of the easement?

Do I have to maintain the easement in front of my house? There is a steep hill down to the curb and my zero turn can't mow at that angle. Otherwise i'll just invest in a trimmer and or push mower. The city hasn't complained about the weeds yet but it does look terrible 🤦‍♂

I live on a back road dead end with my neighbor, I have a utility pole on the corner of my property and he has one on his property, mine sits 6 inches on my property from the line and the other about 2 feet from the line. There is wooded property being sold behind us and the person selling that property is trying to tap off one of our poles to run electric back to the selling woods. Can he do this?

I find it perplexing how unwilling people are to know what they actually own when they buy land, yet how willing they are to complain indiscriminately about society or blame politicians for things they themselves can and are supposed to change to correct their complaints by simply gaining a little knowledge about the right things- their lands. .

The utility company is. They presume title over the owner by the ignorance of the owner not knowing the extent of their right title and interest in their property- not questioning things. it happens by the seller using an outside title co to underwrite the transition. But the property owners right title and interest extends far beyond the corporeal hereditaments tenements and appurtenances most think come with the deed (if it’s a warranty deed). It’s theft against man done by men who create or form the traditions of men, but the facts of law prove the property owner to be the king of his land in the USA and the feudalism of the Middle Ages of England have somehow rooted itself like weeds on the properties of private owners, but is not supposed to exist here according to federal and international law. The utility companies owe every property owner a huge sum of settlement fees for what they’ve taken during their many years of their enjoyment of reversing the rents on their tenancies on privately owned property and charging what they actually owe for rents on the land to owner… for their own private gain, (which is another crime) and because utility companies act equally as for profit corporations or business organizations they are further monopolies (yet another crime) which then creates further liabilities on them which are owed to the property owners. This tradition starts thru “mortgages” the banks get the cartels up and running to steal from people in such a way, it’s still illegal. Shame utility companies and municipalities also go along with it, but the sooner people do something about it the sooner inflation goes down and homes/land and everything else becomes affordable- and the sooner everyday people will be happy to treat each other with the respectfulness and dignity everyday people will then deserve again.

@@taylor943 PS, and thank you also because you just made me realize the entirety of the property tax collected by the tax collector is actually moneies they've taken out and set aside from the property owners principal accounts for the easements, and that includes county easements, school dist, every penny on the property tax bill is actually what is owed to the owner by those entities listed for the easements they rent form you to enter the space of your life your community and your property based on the value of your property. every tax bill is actually owed to the property owner and not the other way around, the tax collector is a service and they are supposed to equally serve the owners, the people, not merely incorporated county and municipality organizations', such as public sphere public schools and fire departments, those organizations are the fiscal responsibility of their owners (local governments, who are people who own private properties like anyone else alongside owning/controlling "public organizations"), and not their customers, the property owners of the private sphere only. People are private by laws of God, men and nature, not public or public property, nor is the property they hold title to, and that's something people need to be aware of.
