What is a Thought Leader?

What is a Thought Leader and How Can You Become One? The truth is, I don't like terms like "thought leadership" or "personal brand," but they are relevant to many professionals today.

    Yes, that's one great reason to not label ourselves experts or thought leaders. Let other people say it once we've earned it.

    I published a newsletter for a community group. We had different ideas about servicing the community. I still see community groups using the same silly reasoning that group used. My ideas bump into the larger concept of how business is done. Hopefully people who make decisions that effect people will allow room for actual community building. I don't think it is in the stars for me to be heard in my lifetime. Lord knows I've tried. Anyhow good luck to anyone on the path of innovative thinking, I wish you success.

    I wish you the best as well. I don't know if this applies to your situation, but I have found it's of almost no use to argue for a point of view. If we do that, it's just our opinion against other opinions. Instead, it's better to support our positions with data and other evidence. Part of building a case for a specific course of action means supporting all of our ideas with concrete evidence. And, ideally, the evidence will show clearly how our recommended course of action would be more effective. Again, I don't know if this applies to your situation.

    @@alexanderlyon yes it does apply. It is my opinion using my life experience of observing. I just see the same people types overtaking. Like you were saying in the video with their brand of info presentation.

    Alright Mr Alex I got a question for you. You said on the fifth part that you might consider yourself a leader, but if nobody is following you, then you are not a leader yet. So here is my question. Do I really need followers to become a leader? Thank you.

    Yes, a leader, by definition, must have followers. Otherwise, who are they leading?

    If i start a blog about one topic, throughout the time i become an expert in it?

    Well, writing a blog doesn't create the expertise, but a blog is one way to get your expertise out there for others to see. The expertise itself is developed through some sort of formal, informal, or professional educational process.

    is 'thought-leader' the new 'guru'?

  • @alexanderlyon

    @alexanderlyon

    2 ай бұрын

    Sort of. A key difference is that so called “gurus” claim to have secret knowledge that other people don’t have. I’ve never really liked the term thought leader, but I much prefer it over a guru.

    I'm not familiar with those issues. I can only speak from my own experience as a user of LinkedIn. I consider to be the most underrated social media platform. I've more more amazing people on LinkedIn that any other place. The professional opportunities it opens up are amazing. As far as who uses it in 2024, it has over a billion users and growing. For professionals purposes, LinkedIn has no serious competitors in the social media space.
