Had to go thru 5 videos to find this one which supplied exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks for the schooling .
I removed the SB on my ZR2, increased spring rate by 5%, had a little body roll at speed. Adding Timbren bump stops really helped reduce body roll. I swapped rear leafs to Deavers and saw a further improvement in body roll and overall handling. Surprised the rear leafs had as much effect as they did. Keep the videos coming.
We have a built up 5th Gen 4R on 35's with a full Toytec lift. We tried with both sway bars removed and for on road it body rolled a lot. We connected the rear back into place and it is amazing now. Without the front sway it allows the front IFS to truly work independent. I just always tell people never ever do this on a stock suspension.
2018 JLU, 5 inch lift, 38X13.50x17's, factory control arms (until next week when new metacloak arms arrive) running Antirock on front and stock in rear. Not really noticing ill effects of reducing articulation. JL's flex like mad !!!! On a serious note, onroad handling a little more sway than stock but as most people say, nothing to worry about and you'll be used to it in about 50 miles. Great things is not having to disconnect when I'm traveling on and off road multiple times on overland / crawling / adventure trips.
My old CJ needs them things!
Good one! Lake Havasu 🌞 Az
I have a mid mount sway bar and is needed at all time to help control body roll on side hills with the full 4 link setup I have . This is not limiting flex in my Bronco
SwayLoc dual rate swaybar! Basically, a torsion bar within another torsion bar. Best of both worlds. You get the benefits of an Antirock without having to sacrifice body roll, all with the simple flip of a lever. No need to go through the tedious task of disconnecting & then having to be on level ground to reconnect.

Who in their right mind would spend $8000. Wow Because you can’t get your lazy ass out there and pull a pen… holy crap

Like what Land Rover did in 1999 to the Discovery 2 with the A.CE. system. Hydraulic pump senses inertia not body rolls and quickly stiffens a ram on the link but at low speeds off roading the ram looses hydraulic pressure and acts like a disconnect. One of the ways the old Discovery had such insane articulation bone stock
Thank you. Getting mine fixed/replaced today and I knew nothing about it.

Glad I could help!
I wish Toyota would figure this out. No front sway in 4runner to allow actual maximum ground clearance with aftermarket suspension and skids. I'm used to the extra body roll, but I admit, I'm jealous when I climb into my buddies JL Rubicon that disconnects front and rear with a button.
I drive a 2001 xj and I removed the rear sway bar when I installed the new leaf springs....I am thinking of putting it back on because the road manners have been compromised......it does do better off road, but this is my daily driver.....
Heeey, you guys have to do a review on the brand new Hankook Dynapro XT. They are a hybrid with the 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol.
I removed both of mine and they’re never going back on
I can remember when I was in my early 20s seeing mustangs and some bmw’s look really good going around curves like they were flat and stuck to the road like glue. I am just now learning about sway bars and I am wondering what I need to make a 2016 ram 1500 regular cab hemi feel less like driving a boat and more like the sports cars I seen as a young man. I went from an 05 to a 2016 and for some reason it feels so soft and leans so much it’s actually annoying. Also will adding a rear sway bar increase or decrease the traction in the rear in curves? I understand to a lot of you this lvl 1 shit but suspension is not something I ever really had to deal with. If you can tell me your best recommendation. I would appreciate it very much. Btw it has 80k miles and I’m pretty sure it needs better than factory shocks. What is the brand you trust that lower middle class can afford lol.

I recommend changing to BILSTEIN shocks, they are firmer and offer better handling
I am wondering: Are sway bars also used on dump trucks?
If the shocks are no good does that affect sway bar?

It will over time yes!
Sway bars should be just thick enough for fine tuning. They should never be used as band aid to stop sway and roll. Bad things can happen if they are used for that.
Do

On word: AntiRock
I hate to break it to you, but there's no such thing as a "wheel barrel." The word you're looking for is "wheelbarrow."

I thought it was a wheel burro. Like a small beast of burden with a wheel.

@Rockfarmer Good question. I looked up the etymology, and to my surprise "barrow" and "barrel" are actually completely separate words with separate meanings and origins. "Barrow" has a Germanic origin and was part of Old English. "Barrel" has a Latin origin and was part of Middle English, coming to the language later, via French. So no, "wheelbarrow" has nothing to do with barrels and is not, as you imply, a corrupted form of "wheel barrel." Isn't that interesting? Learning things like this really reinforces my love of language!

So how does a sway bar work?

A sway bar is a torsional spring that connects the left and right sides of a vehicle together in order to evenly distribute weight between sides when turning. They can be adjusted for stiffness to affect the rotational tendencies of a car (normally mid-corner), either making the ride oversteer or understeer more!
I couldn't even listen to the explanation. I was so engrossed in that tight 4 wheel driving.
What the Hell kind of plastic shovel was he using to shovel rocks? Lol.
I still don't know what a fucken sway bar is...
This is not helpful at all
Don’t even rock one on my 88 ranger on a 5 inch lift on 33s . A lot of fun aha
