    Square-0.5 and Square-not1 was genius, to see that a big bandaged piece makes it more complicated. I can't wait for an actual algorithm analysis for both of them

    6:29 According to J Perm, the square-2 is easier than the square-1. However, he actually managed to solve the square-2 by blockbuilding (so not like a square-1), and he also doesn't know how to solve a square-1...I still agree that the square-2 is easier tho Also, taking the average of 0 and 2, we get (0+2)/2, or 2/2, so I guess the last puzzle should be called the square-2/2?

    It is cuz you don't need previous knowledge in order to solve intuitively a Square-2, you just need 1 basic conmutator and that's it. For intuitive Square-1 you need to deduce a lot more stuff, and bandaging is a big problem. Yes, there's the speedcubing method, but reaching that method intuitively is hard. I know how to solve both puzzles, and I solved the Square-2 like a Time Machine lol

  • @SimonTiger

    @SimonTiger

    Жыл бұрын

    @@Helio_Asou So you're saying it's easier to FIGURE OUT a method to solve a square-2. Just realized, that begs the question: is blockbuilding actually a better method for square-2 than solving it like a square-1 (like...speedsolving-wise or whatever)?

  • @Helio_Asou

    @Helio_Asou

    Жыл бұрын

    @@SimonTiger It depends. If you want to just solve the Square-2 blockbuilding is way easier to learn and you skip a lot of unnecesary stuff (no cubeshape, almost no algs, no parity), but if you already know how to solve a Square-1 it might be better to learn reduction. The thing with "just solving puzzles" is that there's not a better method, you can go with the thing that works best for you, unlike speedcubing where the method is really important for a bunch of factors and you're really limited by that. Now, about speedsolving Square-2... reduction is the way to go
