I do not think that a sigma male is neither an introverted or a wounded alpha. In actuality, a sigma male is more powerful than an alpha...as an alpha needs a group to be validated. A sigma possesses the self-assurance to walk into a pack and take it over if he wants to...as sigmas are often far more intelligent than alphas...but he chooses not to do so. A sigma male is the type of dude that will watch an alpha looking for attention, spewing out all kinds of foolishness in an effort to be considered the most dominant..and simply shake his head while watching all of that...as when broken into component parts...the deep root of an alpha is based on insecurity...as insecure people require validation; it is the barest essence of who they are. Sigmas could not care less about what anyone thinks...as they are too busy achieving, instead of talking (as stated in the video.) In terms of confidence and self-assurance as a whole, sigmas are supreme...by far.

Respectfully, I still do not think the term 'introvert' applies here...as an introvert, by way of basic definition, is a shy person. There is no such thing as a shy and confident person; that is an oxymoron. A reticent perosn...that would be more appropriate, I think...as the definition of the term 'reticent' is one that does not readily reveal their thoughts and/or feelings. By way of that definition, a person can feel that way and still be considered as confident as well...as the person is simply not willing to divulge any information; by doing so, that person would or should not be considered as shy for taking that stance either. So, essentially, a sigma male is a confident and reticent individual...not an introverted individual.

So the loner, the outsider, the rogue or "stranger in town". We're basically just coming up with new labels for old archetypes.

Imo sigma isnt like alpha in that you can fake it till you make it. It's one of the natural born stations. I didnt know sigma was a thing. I never considered myself a full blown alpha and definitely not a beta. After finding out sigma it all made sense.

You're totally right. All this Alpha-Beta bullshit started when it came to analyzing wolves in packs and their relationship dynamics. The original study that went viral because people love pop psychology was found to be erroneous and the entire system of Alpha and beta male to be incorrect. But the pop psychology applying the study to humans still exists.

Sigmas intimidate Alphas and they never know why. Even when the sigma is half their size. It's not a physical fear of violence. It's the unknown calmness in their demeanor.

Everyone has varyng degrees of alpha, beta, sigma, omega. It depends on which status of mind arise at different times. Since our mind changes constantly, it wouldn't be right to definately ourselves as strictly one type.

you are either a sigma male or your not. it happens from being an outcast all your life and it forces you to learn deep self reliance because you can not rely on others.. as they have let you down and shown their dissaproval. this usually happens during early years of development leading right into adulthood when the sigma will eventually acknowlege his/her solo mindset and begin to refine it. in a way we are nihilists in the manner that we dont really care about what others do or think or how they treat us... what they expect from us as we expect nothing from them. they are irrelivant to our goals and directions in life. plain and simple.

Interesting concept. In my experiences, I often find the sigma male receives more respect from others, automatically topping him in the hierarchy. It's a strange phenomenon, almost as if not conforming to the heirarchical system commands a certain degree of respect, or possibly fear of the unknown. The true irony is it is a social construct made by others.

The Alpha needs the structural hierarchy in order to exist. They also desperately need the Beta for contrast. Otherwise, they would have no external comparison, and would not be able to rely on the emptiness inside them, which they fill with hairless primate bullshit. It's like the hot-shot executive in the office who puts himself above everyone else, based on his title and earnings. What he does not realize is that his illusions do not carry over into any place outside of that setting. So when the executive tells me to do something, I recognize that he is not paying me and has no power over me. He is impotent. The Sigma, on the other hand, needs no greater or weaker entity for comparison, and focus on their greatest competition: themselves. Self-improvement, growth, education, improved ability, and similar hallmarks are things that the Sigma will pursue for his own personal gain. As a Sigma, I have no need to rack up debt I cannot afford, to buy things that I do not need, in order to impress people who do not care. Where things can get interesting is when a Sigma takes a few years off work to pursue other things, and then attempts to return. In a job interview, the self-declared Alpha of the limited corporate infrastructure will have something to say about this. _"So, I see a gap in your employment. What did you do? Kick back? Take it easy?"_ They will lean back with a smugness about them. This happens because of the Alpha's fear. This fear comes about because the Sigma represents the idea that this game does not need to be played. The Alpha, believing that this game _must_ be played, is experiencing stressful internal conflict, because the very existence of the Sigma _does not validate their own playing of the game._ The self-declared Alpha will reject the Sigma's application for this reason. The Sigma will then keep moving on until they find an opportunity that is presented by another Sigma; a person who values experience and ability over the nonsense that is personal and professional validation. With women, the Alpha can easily get any woman he wants. However, he is at great risk because of his hollow life and lifestyle, based on money and corporate titles. One wrong move, and he will be relegated to Beta purgatory. But with the Sigma, they can find a woman who has more substance, but who might be overlooked by the Alpha. Or they can go it alone. They don't really need anything, and view these relationships as an enhancement, instead of a completion. The greatest difference between the two is that the Alpha will never have the true self-confidence, because their self-confidence is built upon the opinion of others, the admiration of others, the respect of others, and the existence of the Beta. As for the Sigma, they are free of this burden. It really is the ultimate freedom, to not need to play hairless primate games.

There is nothing to follow here. It's a description, not a guide. An intellectually honest person can see this, and I can tell that it hurt your feelings. No one is stopping you from playing Alpha. I will allow it. Go on with racking up debt you cannot afford, to get things you do not need, in order to impress others who do not really care. The Alpha cannot exist outside of the hierarchy, and they actually NEED the Beta in order to be justified. It's like having light without darkness. One can never tell. It's like the executive in the office who thinks that he's big shit in life, when the reality is that his power exists ONLY within the confines of the corporate world. Those who live outside of it do not really care, unless they play that game. These illusions are not for everyone. I have no need for these hairless primate games. So if someone thinks lowly of me, it does not matter. Conversely, if someone thinks highly of me, it still does not matter. What matters is how I feel about myself, and the hard reality is that nobody cares about that. It's a very personal thing. Now, go about living the illusions that help you to pretend that you feel better about yourself.

Hmm in my case I have proprties of both alpha and sigma males, as in I am constantly trying to self improve myself mentally and physically, also I am always trying to learn and am not shy to learn from "lesser" people than me , like a sigma male. However I constantly feel the urge to stand out on top and to be the leader in the social hierarchy , like an alpha male. Can someone explain what's my case? I am neutral towards laws. I might break them if the situation really demands it.

there is a lot of overlap between the two and the urge to self improve is often seen in sigma males and alpha males. But if you want to dominate the hierarchy then you are probably more in the alpha category.

You sound insecure. My comment earlier suggests Alphas crave approval and that sounds like you..does not suggest you are a Sigma..the lone wolf that is comfortable in his own abilities and has no requirement to receive approval from his peers

Don't argue with stupid haha very funny username you have. Anyway I don't feel insecure at all. In fact I am full of confidence even when others doubt me or put me down. Also I don't need approval of anyone except my loved ones. I solely wish to climb to societial ladder to be powerful. As I have always dreamed of being powerful. The lone wolf doesn't appeal me unless he wants to co-operate with me and get succesful with me. That's it I don't want to get too much into this alpha sigma trap and make debates. I think being the best version of yourself is the most fruitful.

Sitting alone at the bar?! Ugh more like with sigma female having a good time....

This is just a description of your average introvert lol. I don't think anything special of myself simply because I don't play the social pyramid game.

As a sigma, I feel like I have reserved strengths in my arsenal ready for use. By that I mean I am confident in my personal traits and I have the capability to challenge an Alpha but only if I disapprove of them. In addition, the alpha will usually exert behaviour that they think will be approved by their groups while a sigma will just step in whenever they feel differently about something not giving a damn about anyone else’s approval.

The Aquarian Sun sign is indicative of this and goes sideways and left field to all norms of Alpha males and just does his own shit and owns his own shit totally without any hierarchy intervention protocols. The Eternal AnCap seems to envision himself as one of the very few that would survive longer than a few months in a Mad Max-type scenario. If only muh gubment would dissolve already, amirite..

The Sigma male sounds like a beta male who has grown up and unconsciously become an alpha male but still has hatred toward the hierarchy in which he before was classified as a beta male and therefore tries to distance himself from the concept of being an alpha male. The problem with the Sigma male is that he holds on to the insecurities of being a beta male and a hatred towards the fact that there is a hierarchy altogether. Because of that he tries to define himself by what he is not ("alpha") instead of what he is. The truth is as long as the "Sigma" male has feelings of discontent towards the existing hierarchy he can never truly find himself and become confident in being a part of the hierarchy. The Sigma male is confident, but he has to develop feelings of love for the hierarchy and for life in general in order to stop having the need to call himself something different from somebody else.

Yeah this is definitely me. I don't want to be an alpha but I usually end up be forced to be an alpha because of a situation and 90% of people that call themselves an alpha are usually a beta and can't take action. But I hate it, it's definitely not me. I'm the guy that doesn't want to lead or follow.

society- civilized society that is- makes it difficult to really identify the true alpha. any intelligent or socially savvy person can fake any persona they want, which is why predators (from all facets of society) usually act like they are harmless (all the way from the smiling and cleverly deceptive legal or business types, to the most blatantly ruthless and unapologetic criminal or crook). in these situations, the "alpha" is the system of control or en"force"ment that protects those within the hierarchy. you wanna find the real alpha? put them in the wild, or in a room with each other, without the protection of any "authority" figure, and you will have your genetic alpha within a couple days if not sooner. nowadays, a socio/psychopath can be dubbed the alpha simply due to their ability to manipulate the will or opinions of others, but this facade would very quickly vanish in the presence of a real alpha without the support or protection of a system that empowers them.

My friends always say that i am the alpha of the group but they don't feel like i'm the alpha since I've created a group which is free for all acknowledging the strengths and weakness of each other and also before i have founded that group the people is composed of alpha in other group and some are beta on other group. But when we go together since it is our maingroup, they go along with each other.

I just found all this sigma male stuff. My entire life, I've been comfortable doing my own thing, yet when crisis hits I end up asked to lead the fix. And women have never been an issue, in fact I have been with my wife 27 years and done my own thing as she does hers, our relationships wonderful. We are there for each other when needed but encourage each other to follow our own passions knowing, we are not bopsy twins, nor needy

at certain point I just realized people can't be pleased and there's no point in caring. They either like you or they don't. Educate yourself as much as possible, wear what is comfortable (same colors make it easy), stand up for yourself regardless of the consequences (people will think your weak and will test you if you're always alone), if you have an idea give it a shot, friends are an over-rated waste of time, and don't spend money or time chasing women. Idk what this makes me but it seems to be working far better than anything else I've tried. As I write this, I realize this is just a foundation. Build on this core and you will see your life improve.

Why you acting like being sigma is more better than being alpha. you should stop telling these nerds that its okay to not be talktive or have expressive ideas and proclaim their own opinions. Alpha male's focus on goals and are constantly trying to improve themselves for themselves including saying i improve myself for someone's opinion of me, but hey arent well all. Sigma male is just another way to say quiet beta male.

"I improve myself for someone's opinion" is not even alpha, its people pleasing and people pleasing is something that no one should do. Besides Sigma males also focus on self-improvement, education and achieving their goals. And not being talkative is okay. I don't see a problem in rarely talking, it's just not necessary to talk about nonsense all day.

Sigmas are for example: V in V for Vendetta, Punisher, Deadpool to an extent (minus talking aspect). Spawn, Geralt from Witcher 3 series. Sigmas are basically the most intersting profile to create hero or anti hero. Its far from beta and it requires much bigger balls but less responsibility than alpha.

Very good. I feel that I fit into this category because I prefer to do my own thing most of the time and I do not seek the approval of others. However I am not a loud extroverted talkative kind of guy so I am not the alpha male in the commonly understood sense. Nor do I care to be a part of or on top of any kind of hierarchy. When I was younger I was very alpha like. Made friends everywhere, talked to all the cute girls, semi popular. We moved around a lot and it was always the same. Eventually as I got older I realized people are mostly all the same. I got kind of bored with it all and started realizing that time was super limited and there was so many things I wanted to do. I knew I could be who I was before I just didn't want to because I didn't want to exhaust my energy and time. It's hard to have a lot of friends when your time is limited and you would rather do other things then just party all the time. I'd rather find a way to make passive income and be free of social constraints. That's not to say I don't enjoy a good party it's just not the most important thing for me.
