What is a Laterolisthesis, the side Slipping of Vertebrae with some Cases of Scoliosis?

Laterolisthesis is a condition that occurs in adults with degenerative scoliosis, typically developing around the age of 50 and associated with arthritic changes in the spine. In this condition, weakened ligaments cause the vertebrae to slip sideways, resulting in significant pain. However, the structure of the spine's joints prevents the bone from slipping more than about a centimeter, effectively "locking" it in place to prevent further movement. The condition is painful and signifies the failure of spinal ligaments.
