Finally, someone that brings this to our attention. I have noticed famous designers showing their newly designed rooms and the pillows are dog eared and I ask myself is this a newly acceptable look? I personally don't care for it and don't make my pillows that way.

I taper my corners but not that much. I also stuff loose fiberfill into the corners, along with the pillow form. A form just won't fill out those corners properly, so I add extra stuffing. That takes away some of the pointy-ness.

I have been watching this long after you posted this video, but I have questions. You mention, "If your pillow is smaller, too, make the taper smaller." What if the pillow is much larger and not a throw pillow? I have three big sofa back cushions that are 28 x 36 inches. How many inches would you suggest measuring down and in for that size pillow? Also, would you recommend tapering on the sofa back pillows?
@MimzyandCompany

Is it a regular knife edge pillow style? Not a box cushion or turkish right? If so, yes I would taper the corners. With those dimensions I’d go 8” in on the 36” side and 6” on the 28” side.
