Sir, thank you. I found this lecture to be singularly one of your most elaborately illuminating and thus liberating ones. You really broke it down. I now have the picture complete in high definition. Another person tried like you to impart with the truth of God and self. Unfortunately he lived in the wrong era and was eventually hung at the gallows by the Islamic authorities of his time and place. His name was Mansur Al-Hallaj, who had summed up his teaching in an attention summoning phrase saying "I am God/Truth." He was so adept, then, when he got peoples attention to his lectures, in breaking down and explaining the truth, like you, that he was given the title of Hallaj by people who listened to him. As a word, "Hallaj" means the one whose job is to separate the cotton from its seed, or untangle and unravel the threads of a knotted ball of cotton or wool... Of course, Hafez repeated Hallaj's message through euphemism, codes, and and allegory. Perhaps, he did so, because he didn't want the same fate as Hallaj's. But, he did immortalize him in his ode # 143 in the most poignant manner. 40 years after reading that ode was when I finally got it. Since then I haven't stopped shedding tears. Now that you broke down that same message in much much more detail, I present you as a gift the ode # 143, dear Shunyamurti, along with another drop of tear that reading this ode never fails to produce in me...

Absolutely. Here's one of my favorite places to go read Hafez online. The 8th stanza of that ode speaks of Mansur al-Hallaj. I will not attempt to translate it here. This is one ode that is definitely the stuff of a lengthy talk/lecture. ganjoor.net/hafez/ghazal/sh143/

I think industrial society causes all the ego problems we have today. In order to thrive in our western society one must show obedience to the system. In order to climb the ranks of economic status one must have a strong power complex. Technology requires everlasting growth and industrial society is only possible because of cheap fossil fuels. Once we run out of that cheap energy source technological growth will be impossible. Wind turbines and solar power are only possible because of fossil fuels and they can not fuel an industrial society such as the one we are living. We will one day be forced to go back to a more natural way of living. Thank you so much for this video ❤️

The bodies not alive you control the body as self awareness your an infinite being w an immortal soul so truthfully you can never die. It goes back to jesus teachings on eternal life he was a wise ascended master who understood the truth of what death is your body can shut down kind of like turning off a computer... After the second death further death is not possible bc you transcend into the higher states of being n become one w everything like master shunyamurti namaste

The ship is naturally sinking anyway. It's more obvious now with climate change, insects/animals disappearing, poverty... Some might get the time to create a little eco isle to soften the transition, or they might get slapped full on by the break down and be forced to change, either way...

How do you get rid of something that fundamentally doesn't exist?

Umm, excuse me, the video title screen clearly shows the guru with awesome headgear, yet it is not in the video itself. 😢

Dear ego's, can someone please read! Could someone elaborate on what's been said between 14:30 and 16:00. Does he point to the fact that this world doesn't really exist and that all people and external things you see are just reflections of yourself or your own ego? That's so scary. Yet, if you take this to be real (I don't doubt his words or teachings but my ego can't grasp), are other people just an illusion? The people commenting in this YT section and this teacher in the video must be real people, come on... :D Why wouldn't you wait for an ego death when you actually die? My questions (they of course come from the ego) may sound dumb and simplistic, but how can one still function without an ego or balance the work towards ego death with life? Is self-improvement or working on yourself, on your career, health, finances, relationships,... in life strengthening your ego or just your ego projecting it's desires? Thanks for reading and helping!

Everyone in your life is a projection of your subconscious mind they exist bc you believe you do bc your ego needs them or believes that it does. This is just a computer simulation of a fabricated holographic universe created by God. Its exactly what morpheus described to neo in the matrix movie. Neo thought he was mr. Anderson bc the system told him he was (accepting ego false identity) but then hes given a choice red or blue pill (keep being deceived or accept true reality) he chooses liberation n freedom from the ego n is reborn (what jesus spoke of) into a new body. Upon first waking up he cant breathe bc its his first tyme using his real body...morpheus even points out what do you think thats air your breathing its not to neo. This shows how deceptive the program is to the senses you follow the masses but its the blind leading the blind n lambs to slaughter. They try to intellectualize everything which is another egoic trap look how smart I Am my brains bigger than yours neh!!!😝 There is no reality only your perception of what is namaste

This definition of the ego was novel and clear. But one thing he didn't answer is the legitimate fears of the ego. What he calls the ego (fear of abandonment) kicked in strongly after I had a big spiritual experience in 2002. But it didn't seem like ego. It seemed like practical necessity. I had no money and was not allowed to go on the dole in Byron Bay, so I went to Brisbane where I could study the enneagram and go on the dole. A better solution would have been to find a part-time job in Byron Bay. But that wasn't even on my radar. Why didn't "God" tell me to do that? "God" seems to have zero interest in practical matters. The only alternative I imagined at the time, was living on the beach and dying of starvation, like Ramana going to a cave. All of these gurus don't address practical matters, and neither does "God". God only cares about timelessness, not practicalities in time. What's going on with that? We are all in an ignorant world, so we need extra help, but even when you step close to God, She/He/It does nothing to help. It's such a strange situation. BTW, Shunyamurti seems to have an ego as far as I can tell.

Ego creates the illusion of separation and duality. You are one with God. Depending on your perspective the Universe might not care about practical matters but YOU care and you are the Universe, but living the illusion of separation in this human experience. You are God creating your own reality. It's your responsability to create the life you want. You can expand your consciousness and realize all of that if it's what really makes you happy. Follow your bliss :)

@Sarangha K ego is not a natural 'thing'; it doesn't actually exist - this speaker talks like it is quite real. In the East, all it is is the notion of a little-me inside. I find this video slightly confusing, that uses the Western notion of ego - which you seem to be, which is consciousness and (more or les) healthy sense of self. We don't need to get rid of the western version; Awareness aliveness full beingness is what erases the 'ego' (eastern meaning)

I find it amusing how so many people in the world have incredibly high iq diplomas degrees n such. Then decide to blame God for there misery now look in the mirror n say why did my I Am presence do that to mi lol (your God shhh dont tell anyone)😉
