    You can’t see black holes. The light it’s wrapping around it, maybe. But as you fall through. The distant stars will turn more and more blue as you get closer to the black hole. I think it’s because blue doesn’t take much light to process to your eyes or something, and the black hole is sucking in all the light, enough light can’t reach you making the stars look blue. You can fact check that part but it’s true that this phenomenon really happens.

    Since he didn’t mention how spaghettification works here it is: Spaghettification is caused due to the gravity you experience at your feet (or whatever part of you is closest to the black hole) being immensely stronger than the gravity acting on the rest of your body causing you to be stretched and (very painfully) be ripped apart into a thin atom wide stream of plasma that falls into the black hole.

  • @Ice.muffin

    @Ice.muffin

    Жыл бұрын

    Heck.. I'm having nightmare with this shit for sure.. again. Why is the gravity at my feet so much stronger than the rest of my body if my body as a whole is so close to the black hole tho? And how long would it take for this spaghettification to be complete? Would we really have the time to be tortured by the process or would it happen in the fraction of a second?

  • @DreadEnder

    @DreadEnder

    Жыл бұрын

    @@Ice.muffin well the equation for gravitational potential energy is GPE=mgh (gravitational potential energy (GPE) = mass(m) x gravity(g) x height(h)) so basically you take the gravity of the object or in the case of a black hole c+x (speed of light(c) + number we have no idea of(x)) but that could also just be infinite (♾️) but let’s use c+x so we can actually calculate it; Take your mass (e.g. 70kg) Times it by the gravity (m/s/s) (let’s say the speed of light + one (c+1) which if using GCSE physics is 300,000,000m/s + 1m/s so 300,000,001m/s) Then we times it by your height above the surface (event horizon). (Let’s say 1m at your feet and 3m at your head (so your 2m tall)) So the gravitational potential energy of the lack hole at your feet is 70 x 300,000,001 x 1 = 21000000070J So at your feet the gravity of the black hole is pulling you down with a force of 21 gigajoules of energy ( 1 gigajoule = 1 billion joules (100 joules can knock you out)) Whereas the force of gravity on your head would be 70 x 300,000,001 x 3 = 63000000210J or 63 gigajoules of energy. Pulling you down. Now if we subtract 63,000,000,210 from 21,000,000,070 we get 42,000,000,140J of energy difference. So the force of gravity pulling your feet down is 42 billion joules greater than the force of gravity pulling your head down.

    @DreadEnder

    @@Ice.muffin and as for how long it would take. You’d be able to see (and feel) your feet stretching away from you until it comes into contact with the event horizon. Where it appears to slow and stop then turn red and vanish over a LONG period of time. This is time and gravity are basically the same thing. And in a black hole they switch so time becomes gravity and gravity becomes time. And so although the impulse through your nerves would be slowed making it less painful, it’s still ripping your legs apart. And because they messages travel slower, they last longer. WAY longer! Until your feet do pass through the event horizon and then you won’t feel anything from there. But don’t worry you’d be dead long before then! Oh and from people watching you it would seem to take an extremely long amount of time. But for you (the parts of you in the event horizon at least) time outside the black hole appears to speed up and if you fell in head first in a sufficiently large black hole you might even be able to see your feet get stretched until they fall into the black hole. But to be honest this is way above my pay grade (currently) so don’t take my word for granted

    Technically, they are. Everything in the universe that has mass has a gravitational field around it in 3 dimensions. According to Einstein, this field is like a well, a curve on 3d space. But how on earth do you curve 3d space? Here comes the weird part. Imagine a flat world made out of an elastic material. In order to bend this 2d space you need to add another dimension that is vertical to the previous two. Now imagine doing that to our known 3d space; you need a 4th dimension, again vertical to the other 3. Such a thing cannot be directly understood by humans. Our physiology isn't able to perceive such a direction, yet everything made of matter has mass and thus is space curved towards the 4th dimension. In reality matter doesn't even exist. Curved space is perceived by our physiology as density of matter. So in the end, a black hole is indeed a path towards the 4th dimension. The problem is that due to super powerful tidal forces we cannot simply go through it, the singularity (the centre of a black hole) will rip us to subatomic particles. Edit: I forgot to ad something that even if we know, we don't even think about. As I mentioned above, everything that is made of matter and has mass is space curved towards the 4th dimension. Humans are also made out of the same matter; we are space curved towards the 4th dimension. This fact gives us new perspectives of what and who we are. Are humans just bodies that can be enslaved, prisoned, humiliated, tortured or murdered? Or are we something much much greater, as thinkers have been saying over the millennia?

    Visualise this: A black hole is sucking an object, making it smaller and smaller till down to a quantum particle. After reaching the quantum level, quantum effects will be there, and I believe at the quantum level the gravity acts the other way; it will repeal; the repulsive gravity. And then when the object, that has now become a quantum particle will be thrown out because of the repulsive gravity; this could be Hawking Radiation or the Black hole acting as a White hole leading to the model of the Wormhole. Black hole and White hole may exist in superposition. "THEORIES"

    @Jake State Farm comprehension is important lol. Yes, the Sun will consume the Earth in millions of years. "If you remain alive (in a black hole) the Earth would probably be consumed by the Sun by the time you die, because of how much time will pass OUTSIDE of the black hole due to the insane time dilation.

    @@-Batista I understand your view on the timeline of things when dealing with a blackhole but we simply just don't know. It could take you to a whole another dimension or multi-verse where our laws of physics and our understanding of things are completely different. We however do know our sun will die and destroy our planet in the process.

    I was thrown into a black hole as and expedition. My experience was that you would not die untill you hit space the vacum. Which hurts on impact then that is when you Will Need an oxygen. Anyways at the First few hours of the fall Is horrifying until u get use tò the fall and you sync and your brain now gets use tò the fall until you hit space. The black hole has no buttom, you only fall into space. I believe you can only die of Hunger or thirst before impact on the vacum between earth and outer space.

    The region just under the event horizon would be intensely bright and the radiation would be off the scale. The moment you cross the event horizon you would be incinerated. Dont forget the EH is both the apex where particles turn around and fall back but also the orbit of particle pulled in. Yes the G force at the EH of a super massive black hole is low so a lot more matter is in orbit at the region just under the EH. The interior is a un unimaginable storm of radiation.
