Some rebels fighting to destroy the ruling nation of the known Galaxy or the big Empire with a huge military and one that has successfully ruled the Galaxy for a couple of years? Note that Thrawn was not the biggest fan of the Empire he simply saw it as the best available option.

Yea but it's thrawn, he would have also realized the empire was spreading themselves too thin, had a culture making it's leaders whoever was the most loyal resulting in incompetence. He would have determined the empire would only last at most 25 years before being overthrown, wheras the republic before hand lasted thousands. He would have then joined the rebellion and increased the timeline of imperial destruction to just 10 years, OR joined the empire to overthrow it or secretly help the rebellion. @@ollepol4491

Thrawn is a formidable opponent as-is, but if he was actually Force sensitive, he’d probably be just as well (if not better) off than Palpatine. That’s saying something.

What if Maul landed on Peridea? What if Talzin raised Maul as her successor? What if Feral wasn’t weak and became an apprentice along with Savage Opress?

What if Thrawn abandoned his allegiance to the empire after being defeated by ezra realizing the empire would always lose? He then convinces ezra to help him and the chiss and teaches him how to skywalk. Maybe when morgan and sabine show up, followed by ahsoka and hera, ezra and thrawn convince them to let thrawn go back to the galaxy and bring as many ex imperials together as possible under thrawn as the ruler and then convince them to leave and go to the chiss galaxy, conquering grysk worlds to become their own. Ezra and thrawn are able to explain to morgan, palpatine is who actually killed her people. With everyone on board they go back and everyone except hux's remnant join thrawn and go to chiss space to fight the grysk. In doing so they find exegol and destroy it before snoke and the xyston star destroyers are created, and before palpatine is revived. Part 2 could be the first order (without starkiller snoke or kylo ren) invading the new republic. Luke has a more balanced jedi order with sabine, ahsoka, and ezra around, and the new republic is stronger but not strong enough. Turns out the grysk are helping hux because they both hate thrawn. They go back and ask thrawn to help. Rey is an adopted kid of sabine and ezra, and the resitance is a militia group allowed under the revised new republic constitution. Mandalore, Nevvaro, and Ryloth are worlds in a "galactic alliance" with the new republic but not member worlds and were the first taken over by the first order. Thrawn helps take back mandalore and then eventually the main first order fleet which conquered all the way to coruscant while our heros were traveling to get thrawn. They win, and trawns "Empire of the Hand" and the main "Chiss ascendancy" joining the "Galactic Alliance". The Chiss expand their doctrine and the galactic alliance decreases their doctrine to ''don't attack unless the alliance is Directly attacked first". Militia groups independent of any nation like the "resistance" are immune to this and can do whatever they want as individuals. This lets volunteers clean up the outer rim with their own money and ships to help unallied planets with pirates and crime syndicates. That way taxpayers of the allied nations are not the ones fronting the cost. Oh and Han creates a shipping company that connects the chiss and republic, since a force-sensitive navigator is needed ben helps him giving them a natural monopoly on chiss-republic trade.

What if Palpatine was openly and legaly spreading Sith religious texts and own books on the Sith? Of course publicly being only an expert on Sith, Sithologist. "What we can learn from the ancient Sith for our everyday life by S. Palpatine - bestseller of the decade! I can imagine the Jedi using him as an expert, when the Sith will reappear. He would be like Hannibal Lecter or simply the criminal" helping" to solve own crime. It could be Plagueis' influence, because of his particular hate for the rule of two and a way to make Sith look sympathetic and interesting philosophy and ancient culture or group of them. Palpatine always craved to visit and study old sith home worlds, but Plagueis didn't like the idea.
