Keep the Alternate History series going! I haven’t watched most of the series yet but I definitely will to get prepared.

If this actually happened the Cold War would definitely be longer and the west would be well.. annoyed. Russia probably would have gone down to the Middle East and taken that and expanding influence in Africa the Warsaw Pact would change like NATO’s course and I think the Soviets would win. What do you think?

There likely won’t be a war between the Warsaw Pact and nato but there would probably be proxy wars in Africa where the soviets are bound to gain influence in

I know how it didn't collapse in this video: they definitely solved it peacefully and there was 100% no executions involved

That's it. You're genius! If the Soviets just gave up Kaliningrad then the Germans would be less mad. Thus one of the most powerful nations in the world wouldn't have bad relations with the Soviets and so the Soviets don't collapse as they aren't pressured into invading Afghanistan

my theory is the reason to soviet union doesn’t collapse here is because Gorbachev doesn’t go into power and also OGAS is adopted, and the US doesn’t fund rebels in Afghanistan

Believe it or not the USSR was a day away from existing into the modern day. Long story short an agreement was made to see the Soviet Union continue to exist but under a different constitution and slightly different system called the New Union Treaty but a day before the official ceremonial signing was due to take place (it had already been agreed but not officially) the August Coup took place. A single day longer before the coup took place and the Soviet Union would have continued although in a slightly different form. You can find lots of information about the new union treaty and august coup online if your interested both are quite well documented
