The soviet union mainly collapsed because of the coldwar, but in this scenario there would be no european union, so it won't be the soviets vs everyone but rather a trade war between everyone

​@@d-.-5180soviet Union without war would collapse, because either Jezhov or somebody else would coup Stalin in the coming years, or soviets would finally attack Finland(maby in late 40s/50s), as they would think it is a country forgot ten by every one, but I think, that Poland, and Romania would intervine, with Germany's help, and communists would be crushed, giving Poland more Land, Ukraine, Don, Georgia, Baszkirs, Volga cossacs and Belarus independence, Japan, Germany and China more Land in the east, and maby reinstation of Tsardom

Overall, a pretty interesting scenario, I can tell you had fun making it, although I have some criticism: 1. Germans in Danzig out-populated the Poles by a lot in even the 30s. If the Danzig question was to be solved, then Danzig would most likely after some time be returned to the Reich at some point rather than Poland. Not only due to demographics, but also due to the fact that Poland wouldn’t need to use Danzig as a baltic port any longer, since they constructed their own at Gdynia. 2. I know it’s likely just a meme, but I seriously doubt Poland would be the first ones into space. 3. I find it unrealistic that there was never a war between the western alliance and the Soviets. Wouldn’t Stalin likely seek to reintegrate Poland, the Baltics, Finland and Bessarabia? Also, wouldn’t the west likely want to get rid of the communists from power in Russia? Now that Germany has integrated with the west, I think it’s safe to assume that they’d all unite against their common enemy of the USSR. If there isn’t an all out world war I think that Stalin would at minimum try to invade Bessarabia and the Baltics, but also perhaps (if they’re brave enough) Poland and Finland, although the latter would maybe be risky even for Stalin. 4. Also nitpick, but wouldn’t it make more sense if Germany specifically tried to by back their old colonies rather than useless pieces of desert like the Spanish Sahara?

Idk if this changes much but I have to push back on the American political outcome. The war definitively ended the Great Depression, but the economy would've almost certainly still recovered without the war, albeit a bit later than in our timeline. The line "8 years of failed government policies," is just not what happened. The New Deal was hugely successful in turning around the depression, and restoring faith in both the economy, and our institutions. "Economic liberty healed the Great Depression," is also highly questionable. It was precisely those policies that created the Great Depression, and they were never going to fix it. The only way out of a recession of that scale is through large scale government spending, particularly on projects that will create jobs for laborers. That's why the war made such a big difference: it did what the New Deal was attempting on an even larger scale. War requires a lot of spending, as well as jobs either as soldiers or as laborers in the arms industry. There's a reason why many historians/economist criticize FDR for not going far enough with his New Deal policies. Reversing course at that time would have been an awful economic decision.

If you remember your Clausewitz, and seconded by General Balck, Russia is only beatable if they are either so far behind technologically, or amidst internal turmoil. The simple truth is that Imperial Germany 2.0 shed of the Nazi ideology would be treated as liberators and Stalin would lose support from vast swathes of Soviet society. The Germans in this case absolutely could win, and, moreover, economically the Nazis were a mess. Kaiserreich would have been incredibly efficient economically with many lessons learned from WWI. Following Guderian's recommendations, they would have had a proper tank building infrastructure before going to war, with base production at 1500 tanks a month. In a 1-on-1 they would win.

The national anthem would propably stay the "Deutschlandlied", though for some alternate suggestions I would say that "des Deutschen Vaterland" which was the de facto anthem of the 1848/49 could work, though it has even stronger pangerman connotations than the former. Some others that would fit quite well are "O Deutschland hoch in Ehren", "Deutsches Weihelied" and "Ich hab mich Ergeben".

Wow, your channel has really grown since I first started watching you (your what if Alexander lived longer video) carry on to great work!

Big issue in the video is the problem with not addressing Germany's lost territories and Germans living outside the border. Millions of Germans still living outside the German border in this scenario, being oppressed and harassed for their nationality in countries like Poland, Czechoslovakia and Belgium, which was known issue in the League of Nations. Germany wouldn't sit on this issue and would have to regain its territory occupied by Poland by diplomacy, which would be difficult since Poland was diplomatically hostile, or by force, while keeping good relations with the west. As well as the Germans in the Sudetenland, which weren't much better off, just because Czechs wanted their "Bohemian borders".

Once Germany Buys out Somalia and The Congo, The German Empire would encourage and fly planes and leaflets to have Germans leave their oppressive """slavic""" nations and leave to Africa, to keep themselves from being persecuted again!

it wasn't overwhelming though. even after the poltical alliance with the conservatives (one that was breaking down by 38 hence the oster conspiracy) the nazis never had a more than 40% of the vote. through in the increaseingly agitated conservatives and the more war warry nazis (like the video does) and the nazis were a minority. most importantly the SS were an absolute minority, and as shown with the early campaigns in 1939 and 1940 OTL the SS were orginally very poor soldiers compared to the Wehrmacht.

@@matthiuskoenig3378 they won the 1933 election with 40% of the vote then proceeded to completely revive the german economy, implement the beautification in every place program and completely erradicate communism by making better work conditions and treating money essentialy as work tokens, removing their reliance on international banks the average german loved, even adored the NSDAP, because the average german was rescued from poverty by him, not to mention the fact by 1938 they had completely solidified their control over the government, most military units in the wehrmacht wouldn't rise up in open rebellion against the government either.

NSDAP got massive support when they were able to get so many military victories in such short time and then it was kind of too late to say that supporting NSDAP might cause some problems to Germany.

The most historic peace treaty: Poland owns northern Italy, China owns random provinces in Korea, USA annexed all of Germany, Bulgaria annexed half of Siberia

So imagine that Princess Joana was supposed to be the heir to the throne of Castile, which most likely Joana's father had put in his will, but the will disappeared and Joana's sister Isabel was placed on the throne with the help of her husband, the king/prince of Aragon instead of Joana and the king of Portugal took advantage and married Joana and tried to place her on the throne and rule over the Castilian throne. After marrying Joana, he gathered a large army and marched to Castile, but due to bad military and diplomatic decisions he lost the support of the Castilian nobles who wanted Joana in power and the entry of the kingdom of Aragon into the war and there was even a request for help from the king of France but he didn't accept it.

15:22 Actually Italy since 1936 conquered Ethiopia, and Italian East Africa was formed, Mussolini would have never sold those colonies for profit, since he was proclamed in Italy as the restorer of the Empire. Also it’s very difficult in my opinion that Britain does allow Germany to rebuild a world colonial empire, especially buying Belgian Congo and Madagascar, in my opinion only Togo and German Possessions in China could have been acceptable for the French and Brits

I assume its based off the fact the navy had won the expansion dirrection argument after the border war with the ussr in 1939. and they wanted to go against the allies. but its quite likely they reevaluate again if the tension in europe changes like in the presented timeline. the allies might even encourage a soviet-japanese war.

I feel like stating that the New Deal wouldnt fix the USA's economy without WW2 is a stretch of the imagination, or even just a rejection of reality. Keynesian interventionism bailed the nation out, not a natural demand for workers, which a war economy absolutely isnt. Its only a slight complaint, since the USA arent the focus here.

Hans Oster is the kind of guy I would be fine with having a position in ruling Germany if the Austrian Painter was successfully overthrown. While Oster was a monarchist there is nothing inherently wrong about monarchies as long as they are constitutional monarchies or are run by monarchs who respect limits on their power and care about their citizens. He did oppose the persecution of Jews along with him also opposing the Holocaust so he was mostly a person who you could relate to due to him being a relatively kind person.

Wilhelm II was a good Kaiser in that regard, he respected the integrity of all parliamentary parties, even those he didn't like, he donated to Jewish Synagogues and send quick aid to the city of Ålesund after the city burned down, after which the city made a memorial in honour of Wilhelm II. Also don't forget that the German Empire was federal monarchy, which each state having their own king, so the Kaiser wouldn't have much power anyway.

While it would be easy to do a video on if Mussolini was overthrown. I think a more interesting idea would be what Mussolini's Italy would look like if the man was allowed to cook, either by formalising the Stresa Front or by staying out of the war. How would Italy look in the post war world?

General Hermann Balck is considered by many to be the finest divisional commander on any side in WWII. His memoirs, "Order in Chaos," is actually more valuable for his insights on German politics and leadership than his quite well-presented military history. His father was a general and knew Wilhelm so Balck had more insight into the Kaiser than most his age would. He said that Wilhelm II actually had very keen instincts as well as a natural inclination to do the right thing. Wilhelm often would initially correctly assess a situation. But, Balck said his great weakness was a "flightiness" as well as an emotional immaturity wrought from his upbringing that allowed his advisors to talk him out of his initial belief and pursue whatever actions they wanted. This is somewhat supported by the marginalia of State papers written by W2. Wilhelm never wanted to attack France in August 1914 but didn't have enough backbone to impose his will on his own Army. That said, tempered by experience, I have no doubt that under Wilhelm's leadership the catastrophe would not have occurred for Germany. But, the problem here is the succession. Crown Prince Wilhelm was not someone that could lead the country when W2 died. None of his sons were. However, his grandson was reputedly a man of character.

This was a great video. It stands out to me how well structured it was and how it goes hand in hand with actual real thought and research. There were several things that I did not agree with. By 1935, the German economy was actively recovering, but the economic changes came along with the N***s increasing their power exponentially over the pretext of "Socialism", which by the way, never really existed under the "National Socialists", very contradictory but true, it was pure corporativism and monopolies who went by whatever the N***s said, despotism, so no, they would have not been tired of "them taking their lands" but instead, being administered by the N***s/their leaderships changed from Jewish to party affiliated. There is nothing left but to speculate on what would have happened in Asia, but I find the "German Korea" to be bizarre and uncomfortable, although the Soviets would have interfered in Asia too, probably annexing south Sakhalin and the Kuril islands back, seeing as everyone is ganging up on Japan almost like they did on China a century ago. Also, the Belgian Congo was EASILY one of the most profitable and most important colonies in the world and THE gem of the Belgian Empire, they would have never just let the Germans buy it, and you did not consider their shell shock from WW1 which would make them even more reluctant. I do think that de-colonization would have been a very delicate topic which would only maintain the status quo, but French socialist politicians (that were for quite some time the ruling party) would definitively influence it. Other than that, awesome video, great format but consider not censoring so many things, you might be allowed to use those words if you state that it was for "educational purposes".
