For anyone looking to try this themselves, this video starts around 3 minutes into the instrumental version of Smooth Criminal (about 2 bars before the synths come back in) with the flugelhorn playing at 3:05 (coming in with the synths). To practice, I'd start the instrumental around 2:45 where the guitar comes in (and plays for 8 bars) so you can feel the beat and learn where to come in. Give yourself, and which ever brass teacher taught you the essentials a massive pat on the back. You obviously learned the right things in the right order, which gave you the foundations to choose whatever style you wanted to perfect. I skipped music theory as a trombonist. HUGE mistake, which I now know and regret because my practical abilities is greatly limited when it comes to improv, switching between clefs, and scoring that makes any sense. Love your vids.
