First, we had Hawkeye in 2021. Then last year, we got the Guardians Holiday Special. And now, we've got this fun little episode for the holidays. Man, Marvel has just been on a roll pumping out Christmas-themed projects each year.

Sam Rockwell coming back as Justin Hammer was awesome

I am completely shocked with the direction they took this episode, and I couldn't be happier with it because that was absolutely fantastic. 10/10 😭

It's good to see Maria Hill back. I *really* wish they hadn't killed her off in Secret Invasion tbh

Secret Invasion series was horrible. I was so fucking angry they killed Maria Hill. There was no need for that and it did little to advance the story. I was hoping she would be heavily featured and not killed. She was a great character and they did her dirty. I’m so mad just thinking about it.

The amount of callbacks and references to Iron Man 2, Avengers Age of Ultron, Die Hard all happening in this episode is just hilarious. I died with laughter with every scene. Also I think Happy Hogan turning into a Hulk like monster is loosely based of the comics where he did turn into a monster of sorts and Tony Stark cured him or something if I remember correctly. I think in the comics he was involved with Pepper Potts.

I never would’ve thought of having a Werner Herzog sounding A.I. and now I need that voice for Siri. Imagine using Apple Maps and hearing “In one mile you will arrive at the source of your constant anxiety and low sense of self worth, or as you know it, your parents house”.

That hogan hulk scene was beyond brutal and i love it. I went from feeling meh to excited in an instant. What if Season 2 going good so far. Keep up the momentum

Happy Holidays! This episode was so much fun! So happy that Sam Rockwell return as Justin Hammer in this episode! 👍

Right at the end of the credits Darcy continues her song and Kat Dennings defo breaks at the end ^__^ It's a fun little sound bite.

I loved the Christmas-ish choir singing "Hulk, Hulk, Hulk" everytime he was on screen lol.

The isn’t the most crazy or thought provoking “What If…?” scenario. But I had so much fun, that I don’t really care. And Yes! I would love to see you guys react to the Mike Myers Cat in the Hat!

A testament to Sam Rockwell’s performance is his extensive voice work it makes sense he has one of the best vocal performances in the episode

The way Happy transformed piece by piece brought back flashes of Secret Invasion.

Man this episode made me miss the original Avengers team so much. Such a fun episode!

It honestly feels so surreal to see Justin Hammer again since it really felt like the MCU completely forgot about this guy.

Love the Christmas Story reference especially since Peter Billingsley, who is the main kid in that movie, was also in Iron Man and Spider-Man: Far From Home.

I bet Jon Favreau had a Lot of Fun Voicing this Episode.

What If? is further evidence that the MCU still has it! Excellent episodes so far.

At the end of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" in the credits there's a funny verse that Darcy does. It's pretty cute.

Man, I really love the little peaks we got at some of the characters hanging out away from hero work. I lost my shit at Tony being Santa with Steve as one of his elves.

Omg this episode with so many callbacks to Iron Man 2 Justin Hammer dance as a recurring theme to Darcy having her Theo moment from Die Hard when she sees the bright light as the Door opens to the server room as well as a nod to Tony Stark in Oslov at the server room in Age of Ultron. Also the whole Happy Hogan in the ventilation space talking about his frustrations is a nice reference McClane during the same situation as well as Justin Hammer's slow motion falling down of Stark Tower a nice parallel to Hans Gruber's climatic death scene in Die Hard. Yes also the Avengers Tie-in shot is very important and we got to see that in a Christmas episode is awesome.

I’m loving this season. Side question anyone else Disney+ buffering every minute😂 I just updated my internet to last week and can’t get through any of these episodes without a buffer every few minutes 😭

MCU had its ups and downs with shows and movies but I am enjoying how what if season two is starting out!!!

This was such a fun episode which means the captain carter v hydra stomper episode is gonna be heartbreaking and epic. I already know marvel patterns lol follow a funny episode with a dark and heavy one

Somehow, I can’t see Hammer as Hans Gruber…(insert Metatron-level eye roll here). Still freaking excellent work crew.

So many great Die Hard references in this - some hidden gems - Hammer’s reference to the Rolex watch- Ellis gives McClane’s wife a Rolex and brags about it to McClane. Also when Darcy opens the vault, it’s the same music as when Gruber watches the vault open in the movie

I just noticed that the end of the "What if" Intro reminds me alot of the end to "the Outer Limits" intro music.

After the robot army scene, I'm convinced that we need a rated R Hulk Movie.

I like how they brought back his little dance moves from Iron Man 2.

Absolutely love this, loving Season 2 so far, ep 1 9 out of ten, ep 2 8 out of 10 and ep 3 9 out of ten for me. This was more fun than episode 1 but episode 1 was so well written tho.

Happy becoming a purple Hulk was the last thing I ever expected. I imagine Jon Favreau had a lot of fun not only working on this episode but also being the main character. They also made Justin a bigger jerk than in Iron Man 2.

As soon as I seen the snow and Stark tower, I knew it was going Die Hard lol.

Thank you Coy. I always loved Iron Man 3. Obviously fire breathing Guy Pierce was whatever as villian but I love the whole aspect with him and the kid and him dealing with the PTSD from Avengers. Plus it has one of my favorite Marvel Logo intros.

We had the Christmas stuff in Hawkeye, Guardians holiday special, and now this. It’s very fun. Iron Man 3 to me is a PTSD Christmas movie. The villain was lacking, but the interactions with Tony and the Kid, the wintery scenary, and the exploration of dealing with trauma just makes it’s such a good movie.

This episode wasn't about Bruce Banner. If you're referring to the MCU as a whole, then you're wrong because Hulk has been a pretty important character. He hasn't gotten the screen time he deserves due to rights issues (and a couple poor creative decisions) but now they have the rights to the character back I think and are allegedly planning a solo film for him.

Only found ur channel recently due to the the podcast with Heavy Spoilers, just bought some merch which makes me feel guilty as I’ve been following all those other channels for many many years now but dang that babies of the universe got me!

The one thing I like is the deep cut to meta-ness that's coming to season 2 of What If? with Sam Rockwell and the whole Die Hard scenario coming in the most funniest way possible, and how Rockwell and Alan Rickman are connected as they both appeared in the 1999 Star Trek style comedy film Galaxy Quest, and how Rockwell's Justin Hammer will serve as the Hans Gruber of the MCU in this What If? storyline LOL. The writers, showrunner(s) are very clever!!!.
