15:47 Well, that's a good example of how we can't take these guides (and also the databooks, to some extent) as canon material. The Great Flame Rasengan is very cool and I remember using it in Ultimate Ninja 3, but Jiraiya having a Fire Style Rasengan makes zero sense since Naruto is supposed to be the first person in history who was able to complete the Rasengan by infusing an elemental transformation into it.

@@Rck-vert go read the chapters and watch the episode, there’s no need to doubt what I’m saying. Kakashi accidentally created the chidori when trying to add lightning release to the rasengun. Also, Jeriah was his sensei so it would be weird for Kakashi not to ask for his advice. Furthermore, Kakashi knew about sage mode, and that Minato and Jeriah had it. All this being said it would be incredibly weird for Kakashi not to know that or Jeriah to never have used it in the manga or anime. At best you can say it was a failed attempt like the chidori attempting to keep the rasengun’s form, while adding fire style to it resulting in the creation of an entirely different jutsu.

this is really interesting to think about and I think from a narrative perspective, orochimaru would probably just dip from the fight with pain if he knew he was going to lose (since he doesn't know the bodies would be dead since they were from jiraya's past so he would have no intel to sacrifice) also it works well that we replace oro with jiraya since narratively hiruzen would be mental nerfed since he is fighting one of his students now trying to kill him (in this case jiraya). just something interesting to think about since I can't comment on your scaling and opinions since you are correct, so i guess this is a comment for the YT algorithm

Even if he had Sage Mode he would be unable to use it in his old age since his chakra volume had diminished, and Sage Mode requires a minimum level to reach.

I strongly disagree with the statement commonly used to say that the hydra form is slower, since in the Gaara light novel (cannon) there is this random Shinobi that grows huge but is explicitly said that this does not result in a speed lose. I would be very surprised if this random ninja's technique worked that way, but not Orochimaru's

I can't agree with Oro being able to fear hax Konan. Especially off of fear haxing a rusty part1 kakashi who is Jonin level. Oro just beats her up , but fear hax? Na. Not at all. Actually fighting someone of Jiraiya's level and falling to his oil advantage over her ability is a better feat than Kakashi poopning himself in fear of the altercation as a whole imo lol.

Obito was described as having a darker chakra than the 9 tails and Konan wasn't fear haxed by him even when Kurama has been shown to be able to fear hax people so I doubt thats even happening.

@VirhtuePart 1 Kakashi does not scale above the lower tier of the Akatsuki. The one who got fear haxed by Oro is relative to pt 1 Kabuto. If you think Kabuto contending with Sasori, Diedara, Kakuzu, Hidan then you are lost. All 4 of them would wash that version of Kakashi.

Also sure Preta didn't tank the big ball rasengan and just nulled it with his ability. He would've been sent flying if the force connected lol. But i understand why people would think that. But come on now lol

I think it's just more naratively geared towards him nulling the jutsu and the context and highlight is his ability to absorb and null jutsu, him being able to tank the attack without a lick of damage makes that redundant. The reason he got no damage is geared towards him nulling it. Imo

If orochimaru had returned as an ally sooner he could have just told jiraiya about pain. There isn’t anything jiraiya learnt about pain on his mission that orochimaru didn’t already know. So either jiraiya would have gone in with intel, gone in with back up, or not gone at all. Tsunamis statement really says nothing about their power individually.

@Virhtue I mean, Not really, Konans way stronger than people give her credit for. Only reason Jiraiya knew to use toad oil, is due to training her in the first place. He only really wins imo with edo tensei.

Itachi was able to identify the Eight Branches just off the feel of its chakra so it is possible the Akatsuki is aware of it. Tsunade also did not have Creation Rebirth before the Sannin met each other again, yet they are considered equals beforehand, suggesting that the likes of Creation Rebirth is part of that second tier alongside Sage Mode and the Eight Branches, rather than any of them being considered for their regular states. Jiraiya is not even considered a Sannin in Sage Mode, anymore. Hyō no Sho has a specific enemies section that includes all antagonists seen up to that point, but it does not even have Itachi or Kisame in it, so it is unlikely to refer to go past that for Orochimaru. It is comparing him to the likes of Gaara and Zabuza. It is likely that Gakidō can absorb Wood Release as Momoshiki is shown doing so with his own absorption technique in the Boruto novelization. Orochimaru's jujutsu affected Guruguru when he obtained a much stronger Zetsu body. Hiruzen notes that Orochimaru is unaware of the Shiki Fūjin and it seems unlikely he knows Sarutobi hiden, so it seems like the Professor knows more jutsu. Jiraiya needs to hold his hands together for some time to summon the Nidaisengama whilst Hiruzen can summon Enma nigh-insantly, and I doubt Jiraiya without arms can run away from Hiruzen for long enough. Fukasaku's slash was not high-pressure. It was his tongue. Enma does clone himself to make the Vajra Prison which can stonewall even Hashirama's Wood Release.

I don't think orochimaru alone can beat pain but with the edo hokage all 4 of them definitely has a great chance to do so. If jiraya figured out all of the secrets of pain in a single fight then orochimaru would do that quicker plus orochimarus arsenal is better Plus orochimaru being a 🪳 means pain would have to kill him multiple times before it actually happens and again orochimaru knows when it's time to pack the and leave Though pain also has the perfect weapon for orochimaru being the chakra rods and the power and the six paths techniques and I'm pretty sure pain has better stamina for the long fight But i believe that if jiraya and orochimaru were together then pain would have to use all 6paths from the start of the fight otherwise he'd lose they would have a chance to figure out his jutsu and find a way against them and two heads are better than one so they would do it quicker too plus orochimaru has some intel on pain

@Virhtue 1 question Did kishimoto actually use orochimaru to his fullest of his abilities against itachi because in every scene if orochimaru vs itachi it's as if orochimaru is a ameture. On their 1st scene orochimaru tries to sneak attack itachi but gets destroyed very quickly but what did orochimaru do in that scene except holding him with his snake arm On their second encounter orochimaru comes out of Sasukes curse in this 8headed serpent form which is said to be strong and better at regeneration than orochimaru himself but when Itachi sliced the heads off it didn't regeneration at all and didn't attack him again And out of the blue itachi had the totsuka blade the perfect weapon to attack orochimaru

@Virhtue the feats don't. Jiraya loses pretty much every fight he's in. The only ones he win are the symbolic or metaphorical ones about ideology with Naruto vs Pain and Naruto vs Sasuke. The statement that surround Jiraya too are always just heavy glazing. Like Jiraya is not competing with Kisame and Itachi as a team or individually. Neither did he specifically nearly beat Pain at all, Jiraya got stomped the entire fight. The first actual attack that any of the Paths hit on Jiraya bro gets his arm chopped. And a fucking fire rasengan bro?? That would basically mean Jiraya was modifying the rasengan the same way that Naruto did with the wind style.

I honestly think Hiruzen beats Jiraiya tbh

1.) Anime Profile Guides aren’t canon (Kishimoto has 0 Involvement) 2.) Databooks literally assert Jiraiya Equal Orochimaru 3.) When they last fought when Orochimaru defected, Bloodlusted Orochimaru couldn’t kill Jiraiya. 4.) While Orochimaru was in great pain and couldn’t use Ninjutsu, Jiraiya’s Nerf was worse. His body was numb, he couldn’t mould chakra properly and Orochimaru only got the better of him via targeting Naruto. Base Orochimaru is not on par in any category with SM Jiraiya.

@@Virhtue I’ve seen no source showing the Anime Profile Guides were worked on by Kishimoto, nor that he had “any” involvment (That would be very much helpful actually in A LOT of ways). If I am wrong on that, I’ll concede the point, and it’s not really “cherry picking”. Look at consistency. FEATS and actual SHOWINGS/CONTEXT paint a vastly different picture than what you’re suggesting. Again, bloodlusted Orochimaru was UNABLE to kill Jiraiya when he defected and even in SFT Arc, Jiraiya had the worst nerf and Orochimaru STILL couldn’t best him without targeting Naruto to give him an opening. Those are just facts… so while Orochimaru may have “more” statements, they sure as hell are contradicted by his showings, which show he is more a rival to Jiraiya, BASE to BASE.

Outside of the Interviews and some Illustrations, Kishimoto isn’t involved in the production or creation of this piece. What’s more, information within is contradictory to the Official Databooks, again, such as Jiraiya being stated to be equal to Orochimaru in the official. Not to mention at very basic level, the anime guides are based on the anime, which itself is not canon to the source material. Again, Kishimoto has had no involvement in the production of these “Anime Profile Guides”. And again, I stand on Consistency and showings. This is not Bleach. Orochimaru is on panel and narratively, NOT above Jiraiya in any major way, Base to Base. Sure, I can see him edging out Base Jiraiya via his Versatility (Which btw, is also credited as a Ninja’s “strength” in the series, so it’s not exclusively stats related). Base Orochimaru is just simply not at the level of SM Jiraiya, I’m sorry. Nothing in Canon Supports that.

Orochimaru can beat Pain alone because he already survived the shinra tensie then he can escape of the Chibaku Tensie because he can use Manda reverse summoning.Bansho tennin is not a problem to Orochimaru.Chakra absorb dont work on Orochimaru because can get out of his body if Pain manage to catch him .The Pain who remove soul is not a problem to Orochimaru since he can survive shiki fujin .The Pain who use multiple summon will not help also since Orochimaru has multiple giant snake to eat all of the summoning. The Pain who revives is very weak even Konohamaru destroyed him.Orochimaru can summon Manda and the 3 headed giant snake to eat the 5 Pain.
