Idk if Frieza cares much about Cold at this point. From what we've seen Frieza never mentions him or even tried to revive him, he rather wish to be taller like in Broly. Pretty sad Cold went through all that effort after Namek to fix Frieza and now Frieza doesn't even bat an eye that his father is dead.

Frieza was already presented with the proposition to bring back his father and he said no.... Frieza doesn't wanna answer to anyone... King cold was to Frieza as palpatine was to Vader... I have a feeling that King cold was actually stronger and capable of transforming

The suspicion that King Cold is stronger has some evidence. When mecha Freeza and King Cold were traveling to earth the Z fighters mentioned that they felt Freeza and an even stronger power headed their way.

Don't we have enough characters in this series who were born evil? Frieza always came off as a product of nurture instead; he's the son of a space fascist who if how he acted after his death is any indication, didn't give a damn about him on a personal level.

King Cold resorted to trying to use Trunks’s own sword against him to gain the upper hand. The fact that he felt he needed a weapon clearly shows that he knew he was outclassed in terms of power. Also given what we know about how toriyama writes, if King Cold had more power in reserve it would’ve been made clear to us, not left up for debate.

King cold is referred to as being much stronger than Frieza when he is first shown. In that scene cold speculates that trunks sword is the REASON trunks could kill his son. He didn't say or believe he needed the blade, just believe that the blade gave the Saiyan his power... Which he then decides to kill the Saiyan with his own blade. An obvious psychological attack. On revival of F Frieza said his father is too superstitious... An obvious reference to his incorrect assumption of trunks and his power.

I just thought King Cold was just how Final Form Freeza was going to look once he gets old enough.

Yo qaaman, we may not all comment on every video but trust me we all appreciate your grind and videos.

It's ironic. Part of the appeal of the character of King Cold has always been the mystery behind him - his origins, his motivations, his power. And yet, we are all clamoring for more information about him. And if we were to ever get all of this backstory and all of this exposition, it would kinda 'ruin' the appeal of the character in the first place. Even so, I think the best compromise is perhaps a flashback (either in a 'movie' or the series proper) in which we see the real relationship between King Cold and his son (perhaps even Cooler). After all, King Cold was apparently the **true** person who created the family 'galactic empire', and the one who first found and 'enslaved' the Saiyans. It makes sense to assume that Cold would have the same kind of 'transformations' as his offspring (as evidenced by DBS's Frost, who is shown to have the exact same transformation line as Frieza). Therefore, it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that Cold did in fact have more 'forms' than the one we saw him in the main series. And if it is true that even in his 'second form', his power was near equal (or even greater) than a powered-up final form Frieza, it stands to reason that a potential 'final form King Cold' would be astronomically more powerful than even his son(s). Of course, there is the question as to why King Cold never bothered to use this supposed full power against Trunks. But we have to consider that King Cold is incredibly old - old enough perhaps to have even witnessed the rampage of the ancient Majin Buu (whom he somehow has full knowledge of). We already know that in our first introduction to Frieza, Frieza proclaims that he uses his repressed transformations because he is unable to control his full overwhelming power. That being said, it wouldn't be out of the question to assume that King Cold would also use 'repressed' forms in order to limit his power, although unlike Frieza (who suppresses his power due to youth and inexperience), Cold suppresses his power due to his advanced age and inability to maintain such incredible strength. If we take this scenario into consideration, a theoretical 'full-power King Cold' would probably be in excess of anything lower than 'Super Perfect Cell' - aka; he'd be more powerful than just about every other naturally-born character introduced in DBZ. In fact, he'd likely even be stronger than 'Supreme Kai. After all, Cold never mentioned to Frieza about fearing Kaioshin - only Buu and Beerus. Perhaps in the ancient past, Cold witnessed the universal rampage of Majin Buu (perhaps Buu was even the one who destroyed his species' home planet, explaining the rarity of their species in the series). But after Buu was sealed away, Cold realized his chance to take over the entire universe, as he was now more powerful than even the highest surviving 'god' (Kaioshin) - until Beerus stepped in and put Cold in his place. But instead of killing Cold outright, Beerus saw the potential in Cold and decided to utilize him as a sort of 'ally'. King Cold would take the role of a sort of 'psuedo' God of Destruction - maintaining and destroying planets and galactic order, whilst Beerus could take his extra-long naps, allowing Cold and his empire to do the dirty work for him. However, since Cold is not 'immortal', he does eventually age. And in his advanced age, it becomes increasingly difficult to maintain his full power, thus he restricts his power via his transformations. Even in his 'second form', he is still more powerful than almost every other mortal being in the universe, so it isn't a problem for him, though he realizes he will need an eventual successor. Enter Frieza (and/or Cooler), who while not as (initially) as powerful as him, have vastly more potential. Of course, Cold keeps this potential a secret from Frieza because he realizes that Frieza's cruelty would mean his own death if Frieza ever surpassed his own power, and would only ever reveal Frieza's true potential only after Cold himself was on the verge of death from age. ..... Anyway, I think this would be the best way to present and expand upon the character of King Cold. It would continue the character's legacy of being a 'historical' badass without ruining his character with plotholes about why he was or wasn't more powerful than when we first saw him. It proves that Cold was indeed super-powerful in DBZ, greater than Frieza (or even Cooler) in DBZ, though still inferior to (the full potential of Frieza) as seen in DBS. It would also explain why Cold was aware of, and warning Frieza of, the power of Buu and Beerus, whilst also ignoring Kaioshin (or pre-Majin Dabura, etc). It solidifies Cold as being just as menacing as he should of been in the original DBZ series, whilst also avoiding the silliness of him somehow having the same potential of Frieza, being able to surpass literal gods within a few months time, with the only explanation of him not achieving this because he was just 'lazy' or 'stupid'.

Given Frieza has become more pragmatic in his third life, I feel he would consider reviving Cold if only to have a powerful ally. Him calling Cold "bossy" feels like he's exaggerating since Super Broly showed Cold basically retired and gave him the job

Imagine he brings back king cold and cold ends up getting mad at frieza once he realizes he’s just being used as a tool for frieza to become a god of destruction. Frieza ends up hunting him down until king cold and him end up on another planet that has a race of friezes, except they’re peaceful. In the midst of their figh, cold manages to activate a device sending a message across the planet before his death. This activates a message for cooler who was abandoned by his father since his race did not like this group of friezes who couldn’t transform, his mom was also a poor prostitute that were heavily oppressed by the other faction. Little did he know, that cooler grew up to be the polar opposite of frieza on this cut off world. This would make cooler hate all space empires. Realizing his brother frieza is a fascist ruler, they could fight

If that was the case, he would have not been killed by goku who shows mercy. I assumed he tried to blow up the planet (initial plan) when he was leaving.

I wonder about Frost, he seems more like a rogue type of Friezan (a stray), but could there be a universe 6 royal line of Friezans and if there are more Friezans why are they not considered strong by Vados and Champa? Do they have their own King Cold? i hope these questions get addressed eventually by Toriyama.

A U6 arc must happen at some point. They teased it more than once in Super. It would be interesting because it would involve familiar characters (Cabba,Caulifla,Kale and maybe Pirina/Saonel) that we don't know if they will live at the end like the main cast.

Agreed. He's such a cool look. He at least deserved to fight Trunks rather than get oneshot. They made a big deal about Cold being EVEN STRONGER than Frieza yet Trunks killed him even easier. His voice in Kai was also amazing. He was voiced by Jason Douglass, who now voices Beerus.

Cold felt like an after thought of Toriyama, I'd change the story. My version would be instead of landing before Goku's return I'd delay it massively. Post 16, 17 & 18 going rouge & before Cell fought Piccolo that down time I'd land them here after showing multiple scenes of the two in Space. They'd serve as a tough mid saga double boss battle I'd make them stronger than they were against Trunks. Not Golden level but with less training & like Cooler they'd transform further to the point of scaling up, now Frieza=17 & Cold=18 plus they've got better techniques & more combat experience so they'd be tough & Goku's still out of action. Piccolo would be the most powerful Z Fighter followed by Vegeta then Trunks. They'd start attacking Earth while being stalked by Imperfect Cell who's shadowing them since they are tearing the place up. Then Piccolo, Vegeta & Trunks show up & engage them in a tough 2 episode long battle. Cold would fall in battle first to a Vegeta & Trunks Father-Son Galick Gun then Frieza sensing his impending defeat would fly up & instantly charge a Death Ball to blow up the Planet. However Cell not wanting the Androids to be killed again takes action. Hdden in the shadows he fires off a powerful surprise Kamehameha. Frieza terrified turns around undefended with the Death Ball pointing the wrong way is vaporized by Cell. Cell has a badass introduction, Vegeta & Trunks are wounded & Piccolo eats the only senzu bean thus he fully recovers. Vegeta & Trunks retreat then Piccolo has his 1v1 against Cell like canon same result. Minus Vegeta & Trunks getting a Zenkai Boost the rest of the Cell Saga carries on as normal. I prefer my version.

Let’s makes this simple. Cold was always stronger than Frieza. When he came to earth even the z fighters said that theirs a power even greater than Frieza on the ship. Frieza won’t revive his father because he knows how much more powerful he was back in the day and would be terrified if his dad discovered a golden form for himself. Dragon ball multiverse actually got it right as far as power scaling for king Cold.

I’ve always liked Multiverse’s interpretation of King Cold and how he could transform, but I want to see an official transformation for the character in Super. Better yet, if not that, I want to see a bonus chapter of Future Goku’s fight with Frieza and King Cold. Your video on what could have happened was great, so if that’s how it gets told, I’d love to see it on paper!

Cold was already at his max i believe he only had 2 transfirmations N what we saw was his final form. You gotta remember Frieza was a prodigy of his clan. Cold was more like Lord Chilled. Remeber Chied had no transformation. So for KC's final form to mimick Friezas 2nd form makes sense. Frieza being a prodigy had to downgrade from 4th to 3rd, 2nd and so forth

I would actually love to see if there were still an entire race of aliens like Frieza. He could have recruited, or conscripted, any number of them to be his punching bags during his training. It would also be very cool to see them then be Frieza's new elite henchmen.

I call the “Future Trunks arc” in Super “The Goku Black arc” just because I grew up with the funimation dub calling the Z section before Androids showed up The Trunks arc 😂

If we get a revived King Cold who trained with Freeza that would be ok. I’d still prefer Cooler, despite an explanation of his existence being poorly contrived. But remember, in a guide book about Captain Ginyu it did say he originally wanted to join the Cooler Force but ended up as Freeza’s right hand. So Cooler might be canon even though his movie story isn’t. Maybe we get the entire family in this next arc? Would make a great 3 vs 3. Goku, Vegeta and Broly vs Freeza, Cold and Cooler.

It’s pretty clear that Toriyama didn’t think about it. He just made up King Cold because he thought it would be funny for some reason and made him roughly as strong as Freeza. He probably just wanted to get across “a super saiyan can beat two Freeza’s at once.” He was never meant to be able to transform or have the ability to be stronger.

Mannn, I wish King Cold stayed around longer than a few episodes. It’s Frieza’s DAD, and I feel he could’ve been utilized more. Say Trunks kills Frieza, beats down on Cold, but he manages a quick retreat to space somehow. He disappears for years, then comes back when HE revives Frieza for Resurrection F. Saiyan Blue Goku & Vegeta vs Golden King Cold & Frieza. 🥶

I may be completely wrong as I can't remember the source, whether it was an actual line from the manga/anime/movie or if it was online somewhere but I've long been under the impression that there's a time limit on wishing people back to life? Something to do with how souls and bodies are processed in the other world. I think it may have been a line from around the time Vegeta was in the other world post-self destruction. Does anyone know anything about this?

Freeza's regular form is his "final" form. The others are downgrades. He shaped his "2nd" form after his father.

I say king cold used to have more forms, but the older he got, he was forced to go in his other forms to not risk a stroke or heart attack. This is why he did not try it against trunks, knowing that it would have likely killed him, or hell, maybe he just was so old he could not do it anymore.

Was surprised it was even being brought up lol. He got the Raditz treatment to me, important when introduced and that's it. I also just don't think it'd be good however. To me super needs to use these other universes, pantheon and characters.

I want a Dragon Ball Super movie to be made about Cooler, that way, he can become canon just like Broly. I also want for Cooler in the DBS movie to be made into a good guy that was passed over for his younger brother by their dad just because he is not evil. I would also like for him to be as powerful as Broly as well. The reason I want Cooler to be good is because so far, we've only seen evil Arcosians: Frieza, King Cold, Chilled, Frost and even Cooler in the DBZ movies. This may give the impression that Frieza's species are all inherently evil and that just seems unfair to me. We've seen good & evil Saiyans and Nameks that are good & evil. Let's see Arcosians that are good

Dragon ball is probably the only canon where the past really doesn't matter because of how also wierd it already is. For example, we see in the manga ,zamasu and goku black use magic like shin can use but in the anime they just didn't. _.

The difference was Cold was much more laid back on most situations and outcomes cold was less determined then Frezia was, Cold actually cared about certain aspects of things but when we look at Frezia he cares for nothing at all meaning he has nothing to loose and allows the evil in his heart access his final form much easier and also mentioning he would be stronger as he is the offspring. King Cold is strong and actually holded back as he was much more civil and intrigued

Just imagine if shu didn't make the wish for money when Sorbet was gonna make the wish to bring cold back as well since they wished Frieza back then didn't know the Dragonballs can make two wishes

I like the idea that King cold is not powerful enough to reach the fourth form that Frieza can and not that he can't train to obtain it but more like he's incapable of doing it before he died and so his second form was actually his strongest also he's lazy so he may have grown weaker because of that

I remember it being said in the show that Cold is "even stronger" than Frieza. However, I think Frieza's long surpassed him since unlocking Golden Frieza in Res F, not to mention his Black form. However, that also brings to mind the terrifying idea of King Cold training for once in his life just like Frieza. Golden Cold or Black Cold 😱

I wanna see king cold when Frieza was kid and baby what cold was doing in his prime

The Japanese dragon ball z dragon box DVD dragon book states, that king cold is in his second transformation and can transform just like Frieza. So at least in the anime version he can transform.

@@QaamansLand narratively future trunks is stronger than king cold, since king cold was a plot device to hype up the strength of the androids, as it's supposed to be that because Frieza and king cold are inferior to trunks in power then these androids that are way stronger than trunks must be in a whole new league of power. So it doesn't matter if king cold can transform as trunks is supposed to be stronger than him narratively to hype up the androids. It's not that hard to believe given how trunks can one shot Frieza and king cold then a full power king cold could still be weaker than future trunks but give him a better fight. So yeah narratively trunks is stronger than king cold reguadless of weather he can transform or not since king cold was nothing more than a plot device to hype up the power of the androids. As for future Goku it's likely that he let king cold transform and defeated him anyway. But he's stronger than future trunks so what I said above applies to him as well. So yeah future Goku and future trunks are stronger than king cold even though he can transform for reasons I've highlighted above.

Im pretty sure king cold was in final form, freeza only had forms to control his power

@@QaamansLand yes, he should have easely been able to, only posible explenation is that goku (in the future)finished him off quickly before he had a chance to transform, like future trunks did

There is another set of dragon balls. The black star dragon balls created by the un named namekian before he split and became Kami and Piccolo. The black star dragon balls are also the one's we see in GT.

I like to think Frieza wants to keep King Cold dead. Freiza is technically now King and besides,The Z Fighters as well as Beerus and Whis,he basically rules unchallanged. Why would he bring back somebody who can potentially rival him?

If Frieza was broughting chilled as his ally, how would that go? I mean, Bardock did killed chilled but that was in an alternative timeline, The current one is still alive out there, so i doubt they'd make chilled canon just to be an ally of Frieza.

Probably for a tecnique or a training method

I recently got the headcanon that Cold was in a form similar to Cooler's 5th form because why would Frieza refer to himself as the strongest in the universe when his father I'd around and most of his soldiers know of him? Frieza considering himself the strongest because he was naturally at the level King Cold maxxed out to reach would make a lot more sense as to why he's the one in charge. Then it would also make sense that since the Frieza Race chooses how all their forms look (besides their birth form which looks like Frieza's 4th form), Frieza in his arrogance would make his weakest two forms look like his father in mockery of the fact his son has surpassed him.

My only issue with bringing King Cold back is the same issue I'd have with bringing in Cooler - they need to do something to make him stand out from Frieza. If he's just a Frieza clone with the exact same powers and personality as Frieza (which he kind of is so far), it's boring. We don't need another Frieza running around, we already get plenty of Frieza in Super as it is. That if they can do something to differentiate King Cold and make him his own character then I'm all for it.

What about mother of frieza? We never saw her. Maybe she is the one He inherited his insane potential after. As i doubt King Cold was That strong. He was begging Trunks for mercy, If he had hidden form why not use it? That alone means He did not have any hidden transformation Otherwise he would act more confident when beaten.

if king cold would've been revived then he would've obtained a similar form to final form frieza but die to ultimate gohan, if ultimate gohan is gonna come back anytime soon, I want ultimate gohan not that cheap vegeta clone at the buu saga that they call ultimate gohan.

Frieza would never bring King Cold back, but Gohan might.

Regardless if Frieza is working with someone Cold or not. I'm just happy that there's other characters built up and hopefully get to showcase what they do besides being primarily a Goku and Vegeta duo like most of Super. Gohan and Piccolo can show case their new forms. Broly is on the side. Goten and Trunks seem to just be comic relief unfortunately but maybe towards the end of their mini-arc it could prepare them for Black Frieza. Think of it narratively atleast, all the surviving Saiyan remnants have to pull together to face the space tyrant and defeat Frieza once and (hopefully )for all. I'm sure even Piccolo would no doubt be down to assist given his own progression and knowing first hand the danger Frieza was to his own people as well.

King Cold was cocky, he thought he could take Trunks. I am sure if he transformed he would be way stronger than Mecha Freeza and Cooler

If Zamasu took over Black King Cold…….

King Cold is said to reproduce asexually meaning any children he has would be genetically identical to him (unless he has a similar ability as Demon King Piccolo where he can manipulate his children's DNA before they are born) so if Cooler and Frieza are capable of transforming than King Cold definitely can as well (it would also mean that Cooler IS a mutant like King Cold and Frieza despite XenoVerse saying otherwise) also Frieza was given the opportunity to revive King Cold (in Ressurection F) but he had denied it which makes me belive that King Cold was stronger than Frieza (before training obviously) and my theory on why King Cold didn't transform when he fought Future Trunks is because he either forgot how (because he had been in his 2nd form for to long because he hadn't met anyone strong enough to push him into transforming) or because it would take to long to transform and King Cold knew Future Trunks wouldn't give him the chance to transform.

If Frieza is genetically identical to King Cold and his "final form" is actually his unrestricted true form, then that means that King Cold should look similar to Friezas true form, but he doesn't... that means that king Cold is already in a restrained transformed state and is capable of transformations...

We also have to remember that King Cold had no way to gauge how powerful Trunks actually was and he just saw him kill his son without even trying... and powering up to transform takes time and Trunks wasn't giving him any...

@Qaaman if your asking where I found the picture than I can't tell you because I honestly forgot but if your asking who it is than I can tell you that it's supposed to be Ellie from TLOU (The Last of Us) Part 2. King Cold could have known that Future Trunks wouldn't give him the opportunity to transform (not to mention that it takes a while to transform) and he already knew that Future Trunks was more powerful than his 2nd form AND he knew that a 2nd Super Saiyan (Goku) was on their way to Earth so it's possible that he was just trying to buy time to transform by pretending to be scared but Future Trunks killed him before he could.

I only want Cooler. Take it or leave it

He probably can't transform because Cell would have been a lot more overpowered with access to Colds hypothetical full power

@@QaamansLand if we assume he has a similar multiplier from his first form to his final form as Frieza did then his full power would be absurd. Given how Cell needed to absorb tens of thousands of humans to surpass everyone then he probably doesn't have that crazy "final form" strength that king Cold would have had if he could transform

Cell didn't really get his physical power from the DNA specimens that he's comprised of... he basically got his abilities and personality traits from them... and when you think about it, it doesn't really make sense how you could extract more or less power from a DNA sample...

@@ojpickle5923 Not really sure if that matters as much. Contrary to most people believe Frieza's forms aren't straight forward like the Saiyans. While the Saiyans forms constantly increase their power and revert to base to return to 'normal'. Frieza's forms are like limiters to his power, like his final form is implied to be his birth form, but he couldn't control his power as well so he devoloped the other states as a way to contain his power in a more day to day scenario. Of course, Golden Form and Black are actual transformations that do increase his power, Like Saiyans and their Super Saiyan Forms. Though at this point in super it seems he has made it abundantly clear he has improved his control in his over all power that he's seen walking around in his Final Form now on and not his First Form.

I welcome Black King Cold Fifth Form 🎉
