What If Darth Maul DEFEATED Palpatine On Mandalore

During "The Clone Wars," the galaxy was engulfed in a devastating conflict between the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Republic, a war that resulted in countless deaths. Orchestrated by Darth Sidious, the war aimed to dismantle the Republic and obliterate the Jedi Order. But amidst this turmoil, a third faction emerged, combining forces from various crime syndicates and the Death Watch, a group of Mandalorian warriors.
Led by Maul and his Mandalorian cohorts, they devised a cunning plan to overthrow Mandalore's pacifist government. By staging an attack on Mandalore's capital with the crime syndicates, they set the stage for Death Watch to heroically expel the attackers and claim leadership, thus restoring the traditional warrior ethos of Mandalorian society. The plan succeeded, and Mandalore fell under the joint control of Death Watch and the syndicates.
However, perceiving Maul and his brother as threats, Pre Vizsla, leader of Death Watch, betrayed and imprisoned them-a move Maul had anticipated. Breaking free, Maul challenged Vizsla to a duel for Mandalore's fate. The clash was intense, with the combatants' lightsabers-a blur of red and black-dazzling the onlookers. Ultimately, Maul triumphed, decapitating Vizsla with the Darksaber and proclaiming, "Only the strongest shall rule."
This victory split Death Watch, with half supporting Bo-Katan and the other half siding with Maul, sparking a civil war among the Mandalorians, undermining Mauls rule over Mandalore and his plans as a whole. In the midst of a mandalorian civil war cuased by this split, Palpatine seized his moment, imprisoning Maul and killing his brother.
But what if Maul was able to defeat Palpatine? This video explores how Maul might have defeated Palpatine and the wild timeline that may have taken place if he had. The point of departure for this timeline concerns Bo-Katan, and her decision to reject Maul as the new leader of the Death Watch.
As Maul stood victorious, the Darksaber raised high, the room resonated with the chilling sound of Pre Vizsla's body and head tumbling down the steps of the throne. Bo-Katan, amidst her shock and grief over her comrade's death, faced a monumental decision. Could she, should she, acknowledge an outsider as the ruler of Mandalore? Her entire life had been dedicated to upholding Mandalorian traditions, yet here she was, contemplating breaking them to prevent an outsider from ascending to the throne.
The Mandalorian crowd, eyes fixed on her, awaited her decision. With a heavy heart, she concluded that if Maul had rightfully won the Darksaber, then so be it. Afterall, the humans that now made up Mandalorian society had also once been outsiders to this tradition. Thus, reluctantly, she and the remaining members of Death Watch knelt before Maul, signaling their acceptance of his leadership.
Maul, seizing this pivotal moment, got his proxies to address the anxious crowds gathering around the palace. A new dawn for Mandalore was proclaimed-an era devoid of pacifism, where their civilization would reclaim its might. The crowd, invigorated by the promise of strength and renewal, erupted in cheers.
Turning his attention to the leaders of the various crime syndicates allied with him, Maul outlined his grand vision: the creation of a new Sith-Mandalorian Empire. This empire would harken back to the glory days of the Old Republic, signaling a return to prominence and power for Mandalore.
In this alternate timeline, with Bo-Katan's reluctant support, Maul's rule could have heralded a significant shift in the galaxy's balance of power. The establishment of a Sith-Mandalorian Empire would pose a formidable threat not only to the Republic but also to Palpatine's own designs. With Mandalore's strategic position and warrior prowess, combined with the cunning and resources of the crime syndicates, this new empire could have altered the course of galactic history. With no resistance from Bo-Katan's Nite Owls, Maul is able to enforce a stringent lockdown over Mandalore. Civilians are instructed to don their ancestral battle armor, mobilise their industrial base for war and stand ready for an attack from whomever that may come from.
With Maul able to focus upon matters other than the unification of Mandalore, he reaches out to the remnants of the disparate night sisters using the dark side, inviting them to Mandalore to partake in the forthcoming war. Maul also reaches out to hios Mother, who’s spirit was trapped within the spirit realm. With their minds focused, they come up with a plan that would alter the fate of the Galaxy.

I wonder if instead of Palpatine going to mandolor, he decides to message Maul, congratulating him on his achievement of becoming ruler of Mandolor and decides to let him back in on the sith grand plan. After some careful consideration, Palpatine decides to go the route of the sith triumvirate, him in charge of the republic, maul in charge of mandolor/crimson dawn and Dooku in charge of the CIS.
I'm loving these "what if" stories, can't get enough! Now I'm wondering what would have happened if Greedo had have shot first rofl

nah grievous always gets done so dirty in what if type stories. people really underestimate him because of how wrongly he was depicted in the 2008 clone wars.

Im not going to lie the final fight didnt really make sense. Having maul and kenobi in a final showdown is poetic, but an empowered maul could have easily killed pre grievous kenobi, but at the same time he would have lost to windu

So regardless of the outcome, Maul dies by Obi-Wan's hands. It would be cool to see a follow-up to this what-if on how the Jedi would react to Obi-Wan taking up such a role, and if he'd actually marry Satine with all of this happening

What if when ANAKIN SOLO died, he woke up in Zenoma Sekot just before the clone wars. Grandfather paradox. Obiwan&Anakin Skywalker found Zenoma Sekot and encountered the Vongs' scouts as well as Anakin Solo there. They returned to the Republic to warn them about the Yuuzhan Vong invasion.

that's good, but I think with Ol Palpy dead without his identify as the Sith Naster being revealed would meant one thing is missing. Instead of Measured Windu and Obi-Wan duo easily win over Mandalore after the trapped Dooku, it would be ANAKIN SKYWALKER who would run a desperate Vengeance Run against the one who killed his Beloved Mentor. Instead of Dooku getting easily crushed, the Battle would have little to no Republic Presence, with Lightsaber Battle between Maul and Savage vs Dooku and Grievous being CRASHED by a VERY ANGRY ANAKIN, who ended up corrupted by blind rage as he jumping in without much thought, perhaps with Obi-Wan being the one who tried to tidy up his mess following suit with a very confused Agsoka. ... For longer story, the three way battle shall ended up in both Maul and Dooku called off temporary truce as they beat Very Enraged, Dark-Side exuding Anakin back as they agreed to have CIS retreat over the agreement of Maul attacking Republic. That way the Clone Wars ended up becoming a three way proper, with Anakin getting his ass saved by Obi Wan, who manages to extract Satine... Only for Anakin to ve censured by Jedi Council an expelled... Anakin moved to Naboo and openly married Padme, who due to "Untainted Image of Palpatine" made the usually peaceful Naboo and Gungans very understanding and accommodating of Anakin's rage. The Palpatine Estate would be given to Anakin, and as he looked around, he found Palpatine's Sith Holocrons.... BAM, DARTH VADER with Padme still being his moral chain, as he vowed to use Dark Side to end all the other Sith. ... In shorter Story, have Anakin mow down Savage and Grievous with the Dark Side Boost, and while Maul and Dooku found themselves forced to Team Up, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka arrives to help the exausted Chosen One. Assuming writings REPUBLIC Victory at a cost, with teamwork, Anakin killed Dooku and Obi-Wan killed Mayl, but Anakin was so engorged in the Dark Side, he ended up censured and move to Naboo, with implications that he will eventually become Vader. Pr just have Obi-Wan never arrived on time, Anakin killed Maul, proclaimed himself as Mandalor and killed Dooku. Then have the Jedi deal with him.

I mean Ventress kinda fits the bill being trained as a Sith assassin. Sure not with the whole ninja look but I think Sith assassins are the best we get. (Though those quartzite ninjas from the clone wars could work too despite their lack of force sensitivity )

It would be amazing, but tragic. Maul surely wouldn't have much of an idea of what to do after his revenge succeeded, ahirt of killing kenobi. At the same time, I doubt he'd perform nearly as well as Sidious in the coming change, and would likely be defeated by the Jedi and/or republic in a bloody war. Maybe even by his rival, Kenobi. Maul is competent as a leader by this time, but not good enough to consistently outmaneuver the Jedi, even if order 66 went through, wiping most of them out. At least, in my opinion. Maul was powerful, but he was no Vader, and he certainly wasn't like Sidious. He didn't have either the power or the cunning to maintain his power - perhaps for a time, but eventually, the Jedi or the succesors would destroy him. Perhaps even his own amabitions. At least, in my own humble and potentially wrong opinion.
