SPOILER ALERT DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED EPISODE LIGHTING THE WAY!!! Yeah Reynauld was my favorite character and it truly broke my heart when Dismas got wounded so badly that they had to retreat. In his final act of valor Reynauld sacrificed himself so Barristan and Junia can retreat and take wounded Dismas with them. And his final words? "On the old road we found redemption, you will survive I judge it so" as the rest retreat. (Though it is not confirmed if he is dead as his body was never found or shown, only his sword and banners)

Dismas’s arc is learning to accept people into his life again beyond simply being mercenaries with aligned interests and accepting that these people are indeed his friends.

The heroes here, aren't powerful. Aren't meaningful and obviously aren't know to the world. They go to where anyone would be frozen to the spine, just at looking to the horror of what they face. But here, it's a story, that maybe is worth mentioning. This 4 people... they were the beginners, the first to accept their fate and probably the most brave people out there. They inspired many others to follow their path, to help an Ancestor, a man who tried to discover the true world, but only unleashed disgrace upon his very land. Our story begins with this two. They received the letter to help Ancestor. They dint know him, but the letter was convincing enough to make our poor souls go check the place. The first one, Dismas, a normal bandit, a Highwayman to be precise. He could perfect his skills, nothing to lose. Also he could make money wich is very welcoming.

@@CrossBorderNerds I always call my first Vestal and Plague Doctor Meredith and Mortimer respectively (I know PD is female but I'm sticking with that name). I get too attached to my faves and when they die... back to square one.

@@1Thunderfire I do the same ifnsct I tried to do a safe edit but trying to and knowing the game will still be hard I haven't bought it legally but I want to and I am going to try for a first playthrough go not make nobody die at all! Also the first one who always died was a hound masters for me which is a shame as that also counts as two deaths if you consider the Dog as well But slowly I am improving even if I appear to being clearly to anxious to delve in the darkness I will persist!

@@MineSlimeTV I recommend the DLC. My favourite characters are the Antiquarian, the Musketeer, the Flagellant and the Shieldbreaker. Shieldbreaker is my absolute favourite.

Maybe the Flagellant willingly sacrifices himself to buy the others some time, but Dismas and Reynauld team up to beat the Heart as it tries to take the Leper? I would like to say that the Leper pulls off Rain In The Forest here, but Dismas and Reynauld are kind of the main characters so it may be a tad unsatisfying if they didn't contribute more directly.

Damn, please make an extended version of this soon. Really well made as always, keep up the amazing work

I don't play the game but you're making me get attached to all these characters. Especially the one called Dismas, I think.

Yo this is fucking great, this just makes me think how amazing a show involving these characters would be, a bunch of adventurers teetering on the brink of insanity and trying to keep each other alive. Only problem I can see if that making every class a single character sort of makes it hard to kill one off... ...but oh god the impact when you do.

If Darkest Dungeon was an anime, my favourite character would die :')

Got DD from the 2020 Summer Sale. I am liking it so far. I recently got the Grave Robber and during a quest in the Ruins. The party encountered a pile of books. I realized I could use something from my inventory to interact with discovered provisions. By both idiocy and curiousness. I forgot I had the Grave Robber selected when I wanted to use my Dismas. So she burned the books with a torch. Her stress level maxed out because she felt guilty for burning the books. Then by some sheer stroke of luck, she immediately became virtuous by feeling Powerful. She didn't like burning books but felt empowered for doing so. It was a 100% Kill quest and this Grave Robber calling herself "Norman" carried the party to victory. I was laughing so damn hard, it woke up my relatives. I did not expect that to happen nor to happen ever again.

Bruh, dismas (who i renamed to reynauld for the funny) died TWICE in the 1st darkest dungeon quest After the 1st death i got "from beyond" event immediately (could have also saved ballard the musketeer but she wasn't cool and she also died there, but to help caunter the hellion escape)
