Rosalina Mayers they would just do a mix between normal Toad and some Captain Toad moves. Some things the regular one can do is spores, Mario Party dice, powerups, bubbles, and Spinning mushrooms.

Toad is really fast so he could play as a small speed demon with short jumps but fast air speed. Toad is also surprisingly strong so I think he should have a lot of power but be light and easy to knock off the stage with short ranged attacks. To be faithful to his source material, Captain Toad would have too many drawbacks such as lacking mobility in all areas aside from fall speed, likely having a mediocre recovery, short range etc.

There lots of characters in smash who never jump in their own games. A character not jumping is a really foolish reason why a character should not be on the main roster.

Villager, Olimar, little mac and others can't jump either

I would like that he had some mechanic kind of like Robin, in which when he uses his backpack he becomes faster and lighter(Cause the backpack loses som of his stuff that he had in there), chanching some of his moves and his play style, but you can then by doing certain move you can make you backpack heavy again if you want for more kill potential(the bagpack could be charge like inkling ink).

I would LOVE if Captain Toad got into Smash and got a sequel. I think that Conker would also be a really cool character to see

I like the idea of Toadette having alts based on mushrooms from the series.

I have a good idea for the reveal trailer: Toad is on a TT level, he finishes the level, then the star turns into an invitation

New subscriber here. I think it'd be really fun if you included concepts for their reveal trailers, who are they fighting, how do they show up, what's their reveal music, splash card quip, etc.

Blue toad actually wasn't cut from NWSBU Deluxe he was made into an alternate skin for yellow toad. The game doesn't really mention it that much though.

I have some cool ideas for the victory screens 1. Captain Toad collects a star like his victory in his game 2. Captain Toad gets shot out of a cannon to the victory screen and stumbles to stand up 3. Captain Toad is seen putting a gem into his bag and looks at the camera like Lucas does when he is caught with his stick Also an idea for the logo could be a gem Loved the video!

I'm in love with the idea of captain toad being a super heavy fighter purely due to how much he has in that oversized backpack of his: "Knowing this would not be one of his usual adventures, you'd expect captain toad to have packed much more lightly than is usually required. Judging by the size of his bag however, it seems that he has decided to come prepared for anything" I also love the idea of the turnip attack but also had another idea for its use - perhaps when plucking up the turnip toad has the option to either throw it or to store it in his bag. After storing in his bag he could then later pull it out and eat the turnip to restore health? Another idea I just had is for his shield, where he would quickly jump in his backpack with only the top of his massive shroom head poking out.

Great to see this back, Siiroth! :D I really did enjoy GameXplain's concept on how Captain Kinopio could work in Great Fray Smash Brothers (of course, this was before Special was first revealed at E3 2018), but, I think I like your take on his potential functionality a lot better! I mean, yeah, he can't technically jump in Onward! Captain Kinopio, but the Inklings never punched, kicked, or grab their opponents in their games, and those were added in for some reason (which makes you wonder why they still won't allow Little Mac to kick at all), so I think it'd be fine for Captain Kinopio to jump. I actually think Kinopiko could be her own separate character thanks to her recent appearance as a playable character in a main Super Mario title like New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, and that game's introduction to the Kinopeach power-up could even be her Last Trump Card since it's exclusive to her. :) I really look forward to the next Smash Concept!

Quite nice! Toad is my second favorite Mario character, so seeing him as he appears in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker would be a great treat for Smash. Not to mention, we'd finally have the entire Big Eight playable in Smash! The alts are creative. I was thinking that he'd get the rest of his brigade, Toadette as a special skin, and a couple of Smash originals, but the ones in this video are cooler. If Toad ever makes it in Smash, that'd be amazing.

Captain Toad is by far my most wanted character for Smash and this video made me want him EVEN MORE. I've watched many videos on creating a moveset for Captain Toad in Smash (heck I've created a few myself) and this one has to be one of, if not, my favorite one. HERE'S TO CAPTAIN TOAD GETTING INTO SMASH

Awesome vid, can definitely see this moveset in the game!

P.S. if you hold the right trigger while at yellow toad for the deluxe select screen it allows you to play as blue toad, i have tried this and can confirm it works so no, blue toad was in deluxe and wasn’t cut

I really like this concept but I would like to expand upon it with victory animations but since I have never played these games anyone could offer a better suggestion. 1. Captain Toad comes riding in on the dragon (can't remember it's name) 2. Captain Toad receives a star (also forget it's name) and either claps or grins (I think it would be better if you took away stars from his taunts and just left the animation of road being happy) 3. Toad looks up from his map with some binoculars in the background

This is a really cool concept. I personally would want to incorporate the Double Cherry somehow, since it has a major presence in both 3D World and Treasure Tracker, and because I think some kind of duplication ability would be really cool in a fighting game if executed properly.

Blue Toad wasn't cut in the NSMBUDeluxe game, he just needs to be activated with a certain input. Just check on KZread.

Blue toad wasn't entirely cut from u deluxe. I forget how you excatlu do it, but if you hold down a button when selecting yellow toad, he turns blue. I've tried it and it works but like I said I forget most of the details. If you dont believe me Google it and try it yourself

With Toad in Smash we'd finally get the full main Mario cast in Smash. Except for Waluigi, but I think we should just accept that Nintendo hates him

I think we should have toad but with references to every toad including captain toad so he can jump and use a lot of other moves too (most will be from captain toad tho)

It's about time for a sequel, it's been quite a few years. If this were to be announced this month as an E3 game (rip) it would be a perfect time to put him in as DLC.

I kinda have an idea, Either toad can be a semi clone of captain toad or captain toad can be semi clone of toad and toadette could be an echo fighter for either

I really like Captain toad he comes from my favorite game (Mario Galaxy) and Captain toad treasure trackers is one of my favorite games

@Joel Johnson man Mario Galaxy's is my favorite game ever, I guess a lot of it has to do with personal reasons but it's just a beautiful, I can go on but... Anyway I recommend the first one, people say the second one is better but I personally like the feel and story of Galaxy 1

There is a potential for doing very interesting mechanics with Captain Toad to make him very unique, In games like Super Mario 3D world he's the fastest but has the shortest jump, and combined with Captain Toad game themes, Cpt Toad could have a "treasure pickup" mechanic where he starts in a weight similar to other characters of his size such as Ness, but increases in weight, incrementing his air speed but decreasing his jump distance, and having Up Special or Side Special be throwing treasures out of the bag to decrease the weight again. even instead of "Jumping", Toad could just throw treasure downwards to propel himself up (A little similar to how Yoshi's Up Special does). another fun idea to reach higher places could be using a double cherry as an Up Special to create a stack of toads that disappear quickly, and use that for recovery

I don't know much about the captain toad game but I'm pretty sure there's a platform lift thing that you use. Maybe his "jumps" could just be platforms appearing Bellow him and lifting up very quickly, propelling him upwards and still ascending after the platform stops, It should still be a very short jump to reflect his games. It would act like a regular jump but still conform to his limitations in his original game

I had a way around the whole Captain Toad can't jump argument. What if when you press up, a music block will appear under the captain, and he manages to do a high jump with it. He starts to go up high. . .But he can only jump once, and the bag containing his items will start to make him plummet to the ground.

I think you’re forgetting about using the mine cart for the up air, dash.

I was picturing that Captain Toad should bounce off Hop Chop for his jump. Hop Chop made his debut in Super Mario 3D World, where he was a sentient Springboard. Plus, I think Captain Toadette would be an Echo Fighter. Also, I prefer to do Up before Side or Down.

It'd be cool if his recovery was a transformation where he would ditch his backpack as a downward projectile and would have a stripped down movement without it.

You probably could have done something more creative other than just say "he can jump now", but otherwise i loved this move set

For Captain Toad's down aerial he shatters his spine.

Heavy backpack machnic is pretty smart. His fall speed would be way fast so he'd be hard to juggle not to mention his low knockback. Kind of an opposite gameplay of little Mac. No jump, fast & light vs. no jump, slow & heavy. Ecco the Dolphin

The thing with the alts is he could have the color of the 2nd player that was put in, in the update of treasure tracker for switch.

Character Gimmicks No jump,but using a ladder when every time you click jump button Captain Toad will climb a ladder if it’s one jump he will climb half a ladder,if it’s double jump he climb all the ladder and the ladder wouldn’t be to long to climb. Move Type Descriptions Neutral/Jab Captain Toad would use his fists for a three hit jab. Dash Attack Captain Toad would run while holding his backpack(reference to how he runs in Captain Toad Treasure Tracker) and use his head to hit the opponents(smash original for the head attack). I honestly thought C.toad would have a down b like peach except he pulls out diamond and coins and can put it in his backpack for future ammunition but it would add to his weight and make recovering harder. I also thought his special would be like villagers except he would put it in the bag adding to his weight but if you press down b twice he would pull an item out of his bag there would be nothing telling you what you pull out though if you didn’t pocket or down b to get an item thought then he won’t pull out anything this would also have an aspect of rng because you would pull a random item in the backpack out and not just pull the first thing that’s in there out.

Blue toad wasn’t absent from NSMBUD he was just a secret character.

I like this move set but i feel like he should use the toad brigade in his taunts or his final smash.

Technically blue Toad is in Mario U. Deluxe if you go to Yellow Toad and press L or R I believe he shows up and you can play as him. And if we're going by the logic that blue Toad is less popular because he was taken out of a game then we should say the same for yellow Toad since they aren't playable in Mario Maker 2 while blue Toad is.

You could have the up special be used multiple times, then not send Captain Toad into free fall, and then also take out the jumps.

I know there's so many Mario characters in Smash, and possibly more to come, and I think 1 game in the future should possibly cut the roster in half, but Captain Toad would be so cool in Smash.
