As a Notre Dame WBB fan, I followed Caitlin's recruiting at Dowling Catholic for two years, and when she narrowed her choices to Iowa and Notre Dame in the fall of 2019 I was literally checking Twitter and the message boards every day LOL Have to admit I didn't know she would be this great, I was just impressed her how smooth she was with the ball and her passing ability. I was devastated when she picked Iowa (Even more so when I learned she was a silent ND commit) But I think it all worked out the better for Caitlin. She wanted to represent her state and Iowa was the perfect place for her game to grow the way it has. Maybe if she went to ND she would have won some championships maybe not. But i'm not sure she could have elevated the sport the way that she has at Iowa.

Notre Dame finished strong in these last few weeks of the regular season. Hopefully that carries over to the ACC tournament this week and for several rounds in the NCAA tournament as well. The best part though was that men’s basketball was failing in the 1980s but due to Bird and Majic coming in they saved men’s basketball and here we are talking about how Caitlin has the ability to save and revolution the game of women’s basketball and make it popular for the first time and do just as Bird and Majic did in the 1980s. It will be interesting how they stack up against teams like Stanford, UCLA, Iowa, OSU, and even now LSU now that HVL is playing better. I can tell you after playing division 1 basketball, it's very hard to play when you have an undefeated record to protect. It's much easier to be underdogs because you can play with no fear. . . . Which is exactly why Clark had the game of her life last year.

she's going to be the greatest offensive player ever when its all said and done. She's a very unique player and I can admit this as a man. She has steve nashs court vision and iq, alongside steph curry range and quick trigger/volume shooting ability. (from a womens level standpoint. Cant compare her to men) Her biggest weakness is her defense. She's a great rebounder but her defense is nonexistent for the most part.

@@Tony-jo9qr completely wrong! Clark is a much better scorer than the above mentioned. You cant compare them to her just because their white. They have different styles of play. Tbh the closest comparison in terms of style is steph curry but a womans version though she is a bit more selfless than curry and a little worse at off ball scoring ability than him. It's a small trade-off which makes sense considering the amount of assists clark averages. She has greater range and volume than ionescu as well as better off ball movement which closely mimics steph currys style of play. Her biggest weakness really is her defense. Reminds me of nash defense where it is pretty nonexistent tbh.

The question that must be asked is, "What is the attraction? Caitlin Clark or women's college basketball?" The answer will only come next year when we see the attendance at Iowa games. We also have to recognize the impact of social media and the saturation coverage of Clark this season. When Bird and Magic finished their careers in the spring of 79, ESPN did not exist. I knew who Larry Bird was through the Sporting News and other publications. Living in Denver, I could not see him play before the regional final of the NCAA Tournament.
