Actually in todays world there are still around 45.8 million slaves. Slavery still exists but not in any civilized nation. The nation with the highest populous of slaves is India with roughly 18 million

No, another civil war would have occurred in the future anyway due to sectionalist tensions and animosity between abolitionists and supporters of slavery. Abraham Lincoln's election was a direct cause of southern secession but the root cause was sectionalism.

Yeah, Abe was all about Federal government power and that is one of many reasons why he and others wanted the south to be theirs because all that land and oil(plus power). Now the south did fire first but only because the north kept going after them and didn't like them splitting away.
