This is a pretty scary thought, but at the same time... Earth without internet, for a few months will definitely be VERY interesting. Either leading to a lot of crimes, because theres no way to report anything (maybe mounted phones still work but i doubt it), maybe lots of people get together to help eachother, lots of people start farming, food becomes cheaper OR more expensive. And when the internet comes back on, everyones gonna share their own story.

Okay hear me out here, my dad and I, started talking about a apocalypse movie we made up called: Network Not Found. This movie we both talked, and gave ideas on was about the internet going down and only a total of 50 people max were allowed on a type of network. We even made different groups of people as waves. For example, wave one would be a group "trying" to refresh the network or even connecting back to it again. And it gets worse wave 3 would be the Facebook mums trying to post stuff like: meals, photos of their children and so on. And after making this up with my dad, I'm thinking it's becoming reality... 😂😅

Its called a Faraday cage. The aluminum foil is a makeshift one, but it wouldn't be strong enough to save your phone from a storm of that magnitude, youd need an airtight 3inch tick enclosure for it to be effective

As our magnetic poles flip (happening now), the electromagnetic shield around our planet grows weaker, allowing for lesser solar events to have an even greater impact on us than usual (re: recent aurora borealis events happening closer to the equator than usual). So over the next few years this type of event grows more and more likely, not really an “if” so much as a “when”. Short answer? Sooner than later, almost certainly within our lifetime

It probably would be way worse now than in 2012. We're way more dependent on power/electronics than ever, with hospitals, many jobs, lifelines, etc all running on power. We would be in a horrible situation for so many people. But in 2012, while we still were more internet focused than earlier years, we weren't as dependent on it. If it were to happen now, many people would die, go bankrupt, lose their jobs, etc
