There may be a minimum lot size allowed for indices. Trade position size rules vary from broker to broker.

U sure can....if the minimum lot for that broker is 0.10 and u intend to trade with 0.01 for example. U just open a position with 0.11 then close immediately 0.10 u will b left with 0.01 lot open. I believe this was helpful...
