As a florida native two things of note 1 bait you missed was a 10 inch culprit worm in any purplish color absolute must have and also those baitfish thing is only accurate down to southern palm beach county anything south of that there's cichlid, Oscar's, peacock etc so the bait color change

  • @barryhowell9

I'm in broward county, south of Palm Beach, I have never seen a golden shiner or a shad in any small lake or pond. They do definitely eat bluegill, but mostly small tilapia and cichlids. Maybe on the larger lake like Lake O, or Headwaters. But south of Palm beach nope! But love your content 👍🎣

Buzz bait, Jackhammer Chatterbait in black and blue, junebug or grape senko style worms. I like Berkeley gulp in purple or watermelon. Just let them sit. Top water black Choppo or frog. These simple three are what I fish in the panhandle about 95% of the time. When it’s windy, 1/2 ounce white spinner bait with trailer hook. I catch a lot of 3 to 6 lb bass and get the occasional big bite.

Very interesting and informative video. This was my 1st video of yours that I have watched. I watched it completely through 2 times as a check and recheck. Central Florida (Harris Chains and Kissimmee Chains, etc.) have such finicky fish at certain times and even the Pros find those areas to be odd for finding patterns. What you said in this video was Spot-on about where they hang out and what baits and colors they like to bite on. The exception s that were not mentioned was Bubble Gum Pink and Black/Purple or Blue/Purple stick baits, especially Trick Worms. Anyway, glad I found your channel! I could see myself subscribing at some later point, liked it that much. Thank you for a great video.

Nice presentation. I fished with a guide in December (Dora). We was catching fish on worms dragging the bottom. He then decided to go to another area for 'other' fish. NOTHING. Then he made a profound statement. "Never leave fish to find fish." My buddy landed an 8 pounder that day. Several in the 3-5 lb range were boated.

Or no maybe it was down here Florida… It’s a good thing no one played “buy your buddy a new lure everytime Florida is mentioned,” cause bass pro would’ve been wiped clean 😉😉☺️☺️

I live in north Florida and fish every week and kinda not in agreement with certain things. Baits spot on. Except square bill crank if u know how to fish it through the hydrilla But cold fronts is some of my best fishing for major bigs. But that’s Florida and everyone finds there own grooves. Deep deep in summer works wonders (15-25 is deep deep in Florida).

According to JT Kenny, a FWC biologist told him that 75% of a Florida bass diet is bluegill. Of the remaining 25, 15% was crawfish. Crawfish are very prolific in waters with vegetation. The remaining 10% is shinners, shad and frogs. At the same time remember we have large he populations of tilapia which bass are getting attuned to eating.

Yep! Not saying they don’t eat crawfish just that they aren’t the majority forage as they only are about 15 percent they spend more time eating other types of fish mostly!

So I have to laugh. You know your stuff yo. I been fishing this pond down from my house in Fl and I know there are bass in there. I saw a dead baby when I first went there. I been fishing it for a long time and never got bass to bite. I used worms crawdads buzzbaits frogs. Texas rigged Carolina rigged. After watching this I tried my silver lure with the chatter weights in it. I found the one that looked closest to a silver shad. 5 casts caught biggest bass I caught yet since I started fishing again. I knew they were in there. You sir are a Florida bass fishing guru.

The absolute easiest way to catch bass is the Wacky worm. While it's not 'covering water' it is very successful at getting bass. I think VMC makes a Neko Weedless hook. It has a 50lb. fluorocarbon weed guards that work in hydrilla. Oh.. Side Scan does work in Florida. It will help find brush piles that hold good bass.

You can 100% catch bass in the summer time here in Florida but you need to be out there at first light these fish want to be in deeper water and so find grass in deeper water and remember you could make 2 perfect casts and not get a bite. That third throw in could put your bait exactly how they want it and trigger a bite. Just because you don't get bit on the initial couple throws doesn't mean there isn't a fish down there willing to bite

  • @dhjhawk

There is good fishing in cold fronts here in Florida... I fished Florida my whole life. Born and raised here. The trick to catching big bass in Florida in the cold fronts it to slow down and fish deep pockets. Don't tell people they can't catch big fish down here in the winter or during cold fronts because that's just not true. The season best known for charter bass fishing is in the Florida winter time.
