I love this so much! Waiting for my police application to get accepted so that I can move to the next phase. Currently stressed to make sure I am prepared for the fitness exam prior to the academy but I am not giving up! Would love a video on tips for running and breathing as well as the push ups and sit-ups portion of these exams to ensure success! Love the fact that this is available! Thank you stay safe!! 💙

Do you think you get respected as a female police officer? I worked as a dispatcher for state trooper briefly and my supervisor who was married to a trooper said something like she doesn't trust a female to protect another officer. I thought it was ridiculous.

I'd like to think I am. The atmosphere is different now than it was 10,15,20 years ago, the good ole boys club isn't what it used to be (thankfully). My co-workers see me as just an officer not a *female* officer. We all get the same training and at the end of the day they know the situation is going to get handled.

Been an officer for 3 years now. The academy is indeed the best memories you'll have. It's a rewarding, but exhausting job.

Great video! I’m going to the police academy on March. Is there anything you think that I can start practicing for academics? That’s the one part that I’m more scared of. Or do they teach really good? I wasn’t a good student in high school but I’m determined to be a good student now! Thank you again, keep up these videos!

Congrats on starting the Academy in March!! They'll teach you everything you need to know but make sure you review your notes nightly..they quizzed us A LOT while in formation at the flag poles so make sure you review the laws and codes they teach you in class.

Plan to go to the academy next December. How much running did you do at your academy? I hear some people say they did 10 mile runs a day and others say that there wasn't as much running. Did you guys do daily runs or was it only on certain days?

Hi Amritjot! You’ll need to figure out what department you want to work for and reach out to a recruiter. This is the best way to ensure you have all the information you need regarding written tests, physical fitness tests, etc! Good luck!
