Thanks for making this video, it’s so good to find an Aussie youtuber ! This video didn’t make me feel stressed, but just more prepared and open to what things may be like once baby comes in few more weeks, Thanks ☺️

This is the most honest video on this topic I’ve heard… no body really tells it how it is for those moms with dragons (what I call babies that are more fussy and high maintenance than the norm)… what you described was everything I experienced too… it gets better, but you have to have patience and change your expectations because only now my son in 2 years and 9 months and because he can talk, it’s a little easier to work with his temperament… but we still struggle to get him used to transitions and so I’m still in that phase where life still revolves around his schedule and when he “feels” like it … but I have a very empathetic boy, so there are positives that come with the emotions and sensitivities of a temperament like his… keep up the real raw videos xox

I appreciate your honesty in this video! Like I’ve told you before, I’m expecting (I’m 20 weeks! Half way!) and no one has ever told me any of these things. I also can’t wait for those heart melting moments like the first smiles and laughs! As always, love your videos! 🥰

I can relate to every single thing you have described! Parenthood is so challenging! Regarding breastfeeding, you pretty much described my baby! I started exclusively pumping because Anika used to get so cranky and fussy! Good on you for persevering and not giving up! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 The newborn phase is so hard with all that crying and you feeling so helpless all the time! I do miss those beautiful cuddles though 😌 I don’t get them enough now! You are doing a great job mamma!!!!

Omg I relate to so many things you said! Particularly the hour long breastfeeding sessions and inconsolable crying. The first six weeks had me in tears with the crying. The newborn phase is SO difficult and it completely blindsided me. My baby is now 7 weeks and things are a bit better, but still not easy!

yesss the newborn phase is SO difficult! I was even afraid of being left alone with baby because I'd anticipate all the crying I'd have to try and settle on my own. You got this mama and you are doing amazing! xx

It’s crazy how different everyone’s experience is. My best friend told me the best part of their life is when they are a newborn because all they do is sleep. She said when they hit 3 months is the hardest part. Then other people say the complete opposite. I’m 36 weeks and wondering which kind of baby I’m going to get!

This has been my experience too.. with everything that you have said! (busyness, pumping, napping - all of it!) Nora is a cat napper too and it's only recently that she'll give us an hour or two nap here and there and she's almost 7 months... but it'll be random. It's like she does it to keep us on our toes and keep us hopeful that she'll nap for longer haha.

Emanuel gave us 2 hour long naps out of the blue the last two days and got me hopeful but today it seems he's back to his usual self haha

Thanks for sharing the video. Im almost 25 weeks now and a bit concerned abt the newborn phase because I know I will only have myself and my partner for support. Just wondering do you have a lot of support in the newborn phase? Or is that necessary to organise a nanny if my parents or in-laws are not able to come to help? Thank you

I just had a baby and I feel like we have the same baby 😭 I also had the expectation pre baby of all the things I will not be doing but end up doing anyway. Also had a vry fussy baby, won't nap and just feel like he's either crying or sleeping or feeding. I went out for a walk for the first time and felt sick after from feeling anxious with a crying baby. How do you bring a baby out who is so hard to nap 🥲 love the video!

awww I feel for you mama! You are doing great! Just be reassured knowing that it's just a phase and it definitely gets better! I basically couldn't bring him anywhere in the early days because of how fussy he was!

Pumping wastes milk too. I'm so against pumping natural breastmilk into a plastic bottle to feed a newborn. It's just not right. Mother & baby mainly connect while breastfeeding.

although it's a good way to ensure baby takes a bottle so that if for any reason mum can't feed there is an alternative x
