i don't know if anyone has pointed this out, but i love how DarkStalker's ear and mouth flesh is purple, showing his blue-blooded IceWing father and his red-blooded NightWing mother. just a little thing.

I wish this actually happened rather than a villain and a dragon that could break the whole fandom in half with is he a villain or just broken

I’d be more sympathetic towards Darkstalker, but his first thoughts after literally hatching was to kill his father. He had some sociopathic tendencies and kept figuring out ways to tip the scales in his favor wherever he could. He spent his life hating Arctic, who deserved it to some extent, but also had moments of humanity (Dragonity?) Darkstalker was scarily aware of his actions, the consequences they had, and how to avoid them

Nobody asked but here is Arctic's death word for word "Cut out your tongue" Darkstalker said coldly. Arctic's eyes became round holes of horror as his claws(or talons i don't remember) reached and pulled out his long forked tongue and sliced it off. (Im not putting the part where Darkstalker is thinking fear me) "Now" Darkstalker said his claws gouging deep into the wood of the stage," Take your talons cut open your stomach and show us what your are like on the inside, pour your life onto this stage." Sorry if some of it is wrong i had to do this by memory ( here is clearsight's prophecy, " Beware your two queens Beware of your power For your talons will betray you in the final hour." Once again sorry if some of it is wrong )

Why didn't Darkstalker ever just enchant Arctic to be a good dad?

Darkstalker could have been a tragic character, but instead he's a genocidal maniac that grooms children and likely would have done things to that one dragon he enchanted to be Clearsight in his own vision to likely have kids with. Doesn't help that even when he was "good", he was manipulating everyone and antagonizing those he didn't like. Arctic was a better written tragic villain than Darkstalker with his backstory and how both tribes used him like a tool. Darkstalker just acting like his life sucks when in reality it's not the case.

@@mykittenisaferociousnugget Specifically, the way he talks to Moon is telltale signs of grooming. He says things like "because I like you, Moon" and purposely left Winter unaffected by the plague to keep her on his good side as well as other interactions that would be very creepy if an adult said it to a child. I know Darkstalker's technically dragonet-minded himself thanks to how old he was when he went to sleep, but he is still a straight up old man trying to have literal children be his friends.

I don't necessarily think Darkstalker needed to be a tragic villain character tbh. I liked seeing inside the head of a manipulative murderous dragon because it contrasted well with both Clearsight and Fathom.

New headcanon, this is darkstalkers voice

For some reason, something I wish also happened in the book is that dark stalker wouldn't become peacemaker, for some reason I find it sad, and with what happened with him and clearsight

I think it was cruel how they turned him into peacemaker. Think about winters brother after he got out of the spell imgine how mutch worse it will be wen he dies. Or maby darkstalker is gone gone like when he dies it will be like he newer existed witch is just sad

@@AlbatrossWCUE Given Darkstalker's magic works on him, any number of potential spells could've been used instead. Erasing his personality, his memories, everything that made him who he was is worse than killing him, and rather spits in the face of every lesson we've been getting in each book of Arc 2. Make him powerless, turn him to stone, trap him in one of the moons, there's a host of other alternatives. But the one we got has a whole lot of baggage.

@@Refractionary Thing is, as we established with Hailstorm and Pyrite, it isn't him at all. Darkstalker didn't get a second chance. He ceased to be. I feel like the 'Darkstalker will return if something else happens' stuff also ignores how easy it'd be to revert those changes, too... Though admittedly the nature of such things is odd, as evidently with Darkstalker's experiments with Fierceteeth, you can just create a perfect copy of someone anyway. His issue was mostly the parts of Clearsight worrying at what he has become, after all.

I really wish this happened. If Arctic was simply there to guide and comfort DarkStalker then he wouldn’t have gone insane. In my mind DarkStalker is a misunderstood villain that did what he did simply because he was blinded by his own grief and pain. If someone like Arctic that was supposed to be there for him actually was then things might have gone differently.

It's hard to say. I think Arctic did try to do his best, by Icewing standards albeit, but Darkstalker hated him from the very moment he hatched. He looked inside Arctic and saw the twisting pain of guilt, of regret, of betrayal, and doubt, and instead of recognizing a damaged and hurting dragon, he viewed Arctic as rotten. Darkstalker went out of his way each day to torment his father, bringing him birds knowing full well it'd remind him of his home, and would cause him just a little bit more discomfort. Honestly, if anything were to change for a 'good' end for Darkstalker, Foeslayer should've never convinced Arctic to go to the Nightwing Kingdom. If they just went with his plan, to go to an island or even the Lost Continent, Darkstalker and Whiteout would've both turned out better. As is, the war only encourages Darkstalker's villainous attitudes.

@@DogEfoRnexTgoD2024 It's not so much the bond, as it is that Darkstalker looked into Arctic's mind and saw the trauma as 'rotten'. He straight up wanted to kill Arctic, but held his hand because he also saw Arctic did love his mother, too. The feeling described is more than just a bond or a dislike. Though I'll grant, it's not a deeply thought fare from Darkstalker, given he was literally just a hatchling at that point.

If only. Darkstalkers story is the saddest in the whole fandom. Clear sight and him both saw beautiful futures. Clearsight watched who Darkstalker could have been but it ended up he went crazy. He turned evil. Clearsight gave up all of her chances of having a good future with him to protect everyone else. For darkstalker grew up with two tribes for a family. He was a great person at the beginning with protecting his sister, standing up to his dad, and protecting Clearsight. Unfortunately his anger of his father and his sorrow of his mother and all of the power he had got to his head. Clearsight gave up everything for darkstalker. Her time, her happiness, her help, but in return darkstalker enchanted her with spells and went crazy trying to become king and she gave up even more for the tribe, she had a chance of dying, her futures with darkstalker, every potential thing she could have with darkstalker, and I do think this is how it should have ended instead

Poor Darkstalker, he didn’t ask to be born, to have animus, or the be sinister….and through his eyes, Life served him and betrayed him.

I still don’t blame Darkstalker for wanting to kill the queen, like Clearsight said the queen was provoking Darkstalker to kill the queen. He didn’t deserve it. (I still think killing Artic was not good) I imagine Darkstalker to be singing this song to Clearsight (if that makes sense)while he was put to sleep: In the Middle of the Night (It matches soooooo good)

Darkstalker's story is really sad. He slowly went mad.

I thought it was going to be something like "I know that you're mad but-" "I'm not mad, it's just that I'm trying to cope, please! You are what got me here so just please!"

1. HOLY SHIT LOVE YOUR ART THAT LOOKS SO COOL 2. FRRRR, wish Darkstalker's story turned out better for him. Bro made horrible choices, but i honestly can't blame him. Arctic hated him, caused Foeslayer to 'die' (or so he thought) AND THEN brainwashed Whiteout . Oh yeah also the fact there was an attempted assassination on him from his Queen. Honestly the worst part is after being betrayed by the last people he had left, 2000 years later he was betrayed AGAIN by the closest dragon he had to a friend, and Foeslayer. AND the betrayal wasn't even simply his end, he stripped down to a dragonet, erasing his existence and will.

Ah, but did he? Sure, he REALLY screwed up, but... His parents, especially his mom, were pretty terrible. He was never shown what a good parent should be. And he was fully alone where he was, he only had foeslayer by his side.

Personally, i like how he didn't. it paints him as an even worse villain. as weird as it sounds, im glad he made his dad die, because it caused everyone to run in fear. if he had tried talking with his father in any way, it would have changed his father a lot, likely.
