When Stallone left NYC to try and make it in Hollywood he drove all the way with his wife and dog. As soon as he got there, the car broke down. He didn't know anybody except a guy he had been in a movie with a few years ago, Henry Winkler. Winkler was *huge* at the time--Fonzie! Winkler drove out to help his old buddy and the rest as they say, is celluloid history.

I think the movie you're referring to is The Lords of Flatbush. Perry King is in that movie. I saw an interview with Perry King where he talks about Stallone being one of the smartest people he's ever known. A lot of times public persona obscures the real person behind it. I don't think most people think "Stallone... Genius!", but if you think about what it takes to make it, and the choices you make to get to the very top (and Stallone was at the very top), it all makes sense. Same goes for Arnold, however he's got the gift of gab and the insane personality, so it doesn't seem as such a stretch.

I guess that after the University of Miami , where Stallone studied Filmography, he went to NYC. Also when he wrote Rocky, most of the the big pictures companies turned him down. There was no offer to make Rocky for some time.

The code on the telephone poles is to identify it in case of emergency. And used to keep track of maintenance done on the pole.

As for jaywalking laws, they've been changed in CA as of Jan 2023. Now if a person crosses the street even if not at an intersection or designated ped walkway, but does it in a safe manner, it's no longer an infraction.

At 2:35 the GIV is next to a gigantic Moreton Bay Fig tree. This species of tree is native to Australia. Several examples of these trees have been planted in SoCal at various plazas. PS - As usual a fun GIV video!

Red crowned parrots are everywhere. They like to eat the seeds on a tree in our yard in the East San Gabriel Valley. There’s also a group that studies them. I first noticed them over 20 years ago. Back then the story going around was that a pet store in Pasadena caught fire so the birds were let go and that’s how the parrots were introduced into the San Gabriel Valley.

GIV I grew up in L.A. I know every place you go. Its so awesome watch you walk around. I love it. Those nuts from the palm tree taste like dates. Just not enough to them. The edible fruit trees around town is mind blowing. Tons of things you never seen before. California is paradise in more ways than people know.

I rarely go to movies, but I did see Sound of Freedom. Very good, worth seeing.

*Barbie* : I agree ... "Thumb Sideways" .... The story concept is very clever. Some set pieces are good. Production design is excellent. But overall the level humour is like what I imagine a 12 year old girls' slumber party would be like. Very juvenile. When I saw it, the girls loved it. The guys were like "really ? this is so lame ... ". But GIV's store can be seen in the background !

The History of the Different Birds in L.A. county: While I was living in Pasadena I mentioned to someone how Pasadena has several different types of birds. They told me that there was a bird store that caught fire many years ago in Glendale and so they let all the birds go so they wouldn't get hurt. Not sure if that's true, but it sounded good to me.

I LOVE the LA palm trees...what a huge contrast between downtown and Beverly Hills. I wish you would do a video about the Union Rescue Mission..its the oldest in the US. I know its funky down there, but the URM also does great things for people.

Your never supposed to tell your wish or it doesn't come true! But maybe you'll do better and get 1 million and 1! GOOD LUCK! ❤😊
