We tricked our son into loving reading. Instead of pocket money for chores, we gave pocket money for books read (on a scale). His language subjects have improved at school and I sometimes catch him reading past his bedtime. He now reads in the car in the way to and from school and his reading level has really improved. He loved Awful Auntie and Slime.

Good day, Pippa and the CapeTalk family, A few years ago, our daughter struggled significantly with creative writing, often experiencing panic attacks during assessments. My wife and I decided to focus on nurturing her love for reading, and now she spends more on books than we do collectively on internet and streaming platforms, Pippa. She does however win academic awards for her achievements in language across her entire school. 😉
