I am a woman in my 70’s and this video has left me speechless. You are beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. All I can say is that you are the epitome of class. There is not a woman here who can’t be empathic to what you are going through right now. You are the ideal modern woman who faces life with class and grace. Dominique I want you to know that in late 2019 my eldest son passed away, he was a firefighter medic. It was the beginning of the pandemic. I became very overwhelmed with grief. One late night I was on my phone and came across your channel. You saved my life, you saved the rest of my family. You made me get up, get dressed, put on makeup, and so much more. I've been a marriage and family therapist for over 30 years. Believe me when I say that outside of your immediate family, you don't owe anyone else an explanation or justification for decisions made in your personal life. Sharing too much just opens the door for judgment and criticism from those who don't have a clue. Be true to yourself, talk to God often, and don't allow the noise to drown out your spirit.

"Influencers" and others in the public media walk a fine line in terms of giving personal information. The desire of the content creator to be "relatable" combines with the interest of some viewers/listeners for personal details. When too much personal information is given, and especially when the information involves family members, the unintended consequences can be very painful. Often, young and innocent people are affected. As a public relations professional, I have seen the result of poor boundary choices and (worst) TMI, "letting it all hang out in public". No healthy purpose is served, in these situations.

Please treat yourself to some nice experiences, and buy yourself a snazzy, new outfit that makes you feel like a million dollars. My ex-husband was having a 5-year affair while I was battling aggressive breast cancer. He was the love of my life, and it was devastating for me. A loss I’d never felt before..only when my dear dad passed suddenly 3 years before I was diagnosed with cancer. My faith is what gave me strength to continue battling major health issues. I am a survivor after three cancer journeys and the loss of my husband. God bless.

Dominique, in November 2018 my husband passed away. I found myself alone in my home, starting anew. During that time I discovered the content of KZread, and of YOU. My life changed. You became my friend. Almost every night after dinner I would look at not only your current release videos, but I think I watched all the previous videos ever released. You changed my life. You encouragement me to get my life together so that I could successfully reenter the world after a 34 year marriage, with most of those years as caregiver to a disabled husband. I'm so happy to share with you that I now have lost over 60 lbs,, get compliments on my hair style and makeup AND I have the most loving man in my life. Most of this joy I attribute to YOU! My oldest daughter, 31, passed away in November 2019. By the grace of God, I discovered your KZread channel at some point during lockdown. I live in a remote, isolated area on Lake Superior in the Upper Peninsula, Michigan, so I'd never heard of you before. And because I live in such a remote area, where winter lasts 6-7 months, there are no resources, such as grief groups or gyms. Winter is a very long, dark, lonely time under the best of circumstances. I just want you to know you have played an integral role in my recovery. You've reminded me to not abandon self-care. You've inspired me with your class and grace. You've helped me not turn to the bottle to deal with my pain. We're the same age, so you've helped me navigate menopause coming at a time when I was already struggling. You've allowed me to pretend we're friends and I didn't have to feel so alone. I admire your beauty, inside and out. It's almost 27 months since my daughter left, and I can honestly say I'm doing well. Losing a child is our worst nightmare as mothers. I couldn't have made it without my Lord, and He used you as an instrument in my healing. Thank you. This is yet another season in our lives as women and you'll come through it just fine, too. After my divorce I met the Love of my life and next month we are celebrating our 36 anniversary. I had to end my prior marriage and I’m glad I did. Dominique, I wish you all the best, you are stronger than I was and I am sure you will be happy again. You are a true inspiration!

My husband died suddenly in December 2021. My 31 year old son died suddenly on February 2nd. As I heard you talk about life going on and getting criticized for smiling or talking about something happy it occurs to me that the pain and judgment is similar. The pain of losing my husband was so bad. But losing my son is just a horrific nightmare that I can’t wake up from. I can’t control what happened. But I can control washing my face and brushing my teeth and putting on makeup. Wanting to look as good for my son as possible, I went back to a video of yours from years ago … the KVD Shade and Light and used it as a reference for putting on my eye shadow. I didn’t follow it exactly, but I want you to know that your videos, this one and countless others, provide help and even comfort to hundreds of thousands women. I am one of them. I understand why you felt the need to post this video, but I also hope that you never put out this type of video again. You don’t owe anyone an apology or an explanation. You said it best … if they don’t like you they can unfollow you. If they don’t, I hope you will unfollow them. The people who post such things are not worth your time or space in your head. And I know that those people are just a teeny, tiny, minuscule number of your followers. I miss my son and my husband every minute of every day. I have discovered what it is like to have a panic attack. Whether you are doing a video or tutorial on blowing out hair, makeup, skin care, whatever … the kindness that you exude is a comfort. And that far outweighs the morons who post insults. When we smile or take care of ourselves, we are not diminishing our pain. We may live in pain, but we don’t have to put it on display for the world.

I don’t expect you to share your intimate details of your life. I totally respect that. You are a very awesome person and I have learned and grown so much through you. I’m 73 years old and have been blessed to be married 58 years. Yes I was 15 we I married but thank God we made the right decision. Has it been easy absolutely note! Each day even now there is a struggle for me. I retired 5 years ago and worked 51 years. It has been very very hard to retire and have a 24/7 relationship with my husband. Some days I just want to have me time . Everyone has their own personal struggles. God Bless you and prayers for much better days ahead.

Maybe I am selfish, but I love your transparency on this channel whether it is a lot or a little. It is so beautiful. Marraige is complicated, life is pure pain sometimes. There are things that you talk about that really help women and for women that do not have a positive female influence, you are it! I believe you have a gift in this work and you share that gift with the world. We need you! Please ignore the negative and hate. I watch , but I don't comment much because I am not brave, but lately I am so exhausted of the hatered and misery in people willing to go slap another. I knew that you had separated from your husband and I started watching you because it also happened to me. I admire you and you give me hope.

Dominique, as Denzel Washington has said, "some people will never like you because your spirit irritates their demons." You are beautiful inside and out! Many of us here on this platform have walked the steps you are now walking. I am wishing you strength through it all. As you always say, "Be bold and be blessed"!!!!

After watching this video, it is abundantly clear that even at your lowest moments, your grace and class still remain. My grandmother always said, that we can bear the dark clouds in order to grow. For they produce rain and cleanse us. I have no idea where she found that inspiration, but I know I kept it close to my heart during all of my life’s trials.

I was widowed suddenly at age 52. My life changed 180 degrees in one day. Yes, one can “carry on” in the midst of loss and pain. Bless you.

Dominique, you've made me cry. You had no idea the impact you've made on me. I just went through a sad breakup of 7 yrs relationship. I gave it all my unconditional love & loyalty. He ended in just 10 min with dirtiest words & betrayal. I never revealed my hurts to others. Unlike you, I am not brave enough to show others my cuts & bleeding. Keeping myself busy was the only way I could survive. If not, I would sit cry & asked why. It has been 60 days now, and I feel a lot better. Having you on it's like having a good friend nearby. There are days I wanted to cry, but your videos always me smile & laugh. I'm not just your audience, I'm your friend. You inspired me to live on & be stronger. Your hurt makes me sad. I do know you pain. You deserve a sacred moment for yourself. It's ok to cry when the camera is off. You're beautiful & you're so loved by us all. Thank you for sharing us your intimate story. Dominique, I once was very near you in a hallway at a doctors office. We were not formally introduced but I was so impressed with you for a very important reason. You gave eye contact and a smile to everyone around you. A gentleman held the door for you and your baby son in a stroller. You looked him in the eyes, smiled and said thank you. You looked at me too with a smile. I was struck by how polite and genuinely nice you are to everyone, no matter how we’re dressed or have makeup on, etc. I wish everyone would treat you that way. I don’t know why anyone would want to be so unkind. I wish you all the best.

Nothing is worse than a broken heart, especially around the holidays when the world seems to be so happy, and you’re the only one that isn’t. It doesn’t matter your age, it is always gut wrenching. One day you will feel “normal” again, but in the meantime, do whatever you need. Anyone can see that you are going through your private turmoil. Why do people have to be mean and judgmental? I wish you all the best as you navigate through this maze.

Hang in there. You do not need affirmation from us, you are our inspiration. Your private life should be just that, and it’s not anyones business unless you ask for support. Anticipate the lows ( first Christmas in a new situation for example), and set yourself up to win by making sure you will spend the day with supportive people and being busy. And don’t forget to be there for your kids who will also be going through mixed emotions. This too shall pass. Been there, and as one person said.. it DOES get better, just get through each day with class and grace, not matter what everyone else is doing. Sending you hugs and hugs.

One thing I have learned, in my 68 years Dominique, is that in times like this, when one feels at their most most vulnerable, you need to give yourself time to just be you.....give your emotions room to run their course. To me true strength is acknowledging when it's your turn to need support and guidance. Only then can you take that deep breath and put the other foot forward and continue your journey. Focus on the love and support of your physical family and friends and that from those of us who can only be there for you virtually. I watched this video six months ago and I’m watching it again and listening again and it still warms my heart and also touches me that you have been suffering and yet you are such a brave woman to move forward and explain in such a kind way the things that have been going on in your family. You are definitely a woman of class and dignity, and faith. I wish you well as your journey progresses forward, because truly you do make a difference in the lives of so many that you don’t even know. Make God bless you and your loved ones.

I’ve been divorced after 21 years of marriage , he even wrote a book lieing about who I was. Ugh, painful to know there are those who believe this crap. The only ones who truly know the truth are the ones who lived in our house. Details don’t matter but when you’re well known it must be incredibly hard. I hate how people judge/ question your life, only you who lived in your home know the truth. We need to find a purpose to keep going/ reason to get out of bed, continue to create for our own mental health. God bless you and keep going, keep creating❤, keep doing you hugs

I lost my son, who was special needs, in May of this year. My world has completely changed. Listening to you describe the emotional rollercoaster one feels when losing a loved one is exactly how I feel and that it's ok. Although we grieve, it's ok to laugh. It's okay to feel angry. It's okay to feel some happiness, especially when thinking of them puts a smile on your face. Thank u for sharing.😊

After 43 years of marriage I discovered I wasn’t going to sweep things under the rug anymore and became my own woman. Had to set things straight with my hubs and began a new respect for myself. Dominique, this is the first time I’ve written. You’ve given us all so much. I’ve been widowed twice and at mid nite when I can’t sleep I love to look at your posts. Your love for all of us, your happiness with Nick and your family, your beautiful home and your happy retirement - all lightened my spirits, especially over these terrible two years of isolation. Now you are suffering- and I can’t imagine anyone so cruel as to attack you now. Clearly, you gave your marriage your all. Maybe there are people out there who couldn’t stand seeing you be happy. People who were waiting for the shoe to drop. But you have been there for us- for me- and I am there for you. It’s OK (and very brave) to be vulnerable. And to share your vulnerability with us. As an older woman, I understand the difficulty to be open but to protect yourself and your family. Even your ex. Just keep going and share what you want and keep the rest to yourself. it makes me sad to see the pressure you're under and people are so rude behind their keyboard. I married my HS sweethwart when I was 23, had 3 awesome kind, sweet, hardworking kids, and he basically chose alcohol over us. Married 30 years until I had to walk away for my own sanity. I still miss how we used to be. I feel for you and all I can say is take care of you first. Dont worry about the viewers. They have their own issues too and I wonder how much they'd share. Unless they are close friends or family they have no business getting into yours. Just because you watch somebody on social media it doesn't make you their close friend! People watch too much trash tv (me included) , such as Housewives, 90DF, etc and think that it’s entirely normal to expect every social media contender to also divulge everything in their life. You’ve got to be really daft if you think everyone in the world owes you a detailed explanation of their personal life. We are slowly detonating every last bit of class and grace and it makes me rather sad.

I like how you said Decay and erosion in a relationship if left neglected can cause bigger problems. But as individuals we need to love ourselves first. Keep loving yourself Ms Dominique. We love you too🥰

Oh Domigue, my heart breaks for you. I truly understand exactly how you're feeling. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I too became divorced in 1988 after 10 yrs of marriage, was left with 3 small children, the youngest being only 8 months old. I picked myself up with a lot of bumps in the road, but raised them to be productive individuals. My Faith these last 10 years has given me peace in my heart and I'm extremely grateful for that. I've been there when my 33 year marriage crumbled. You are so open and come across as warm, friendly and "real". That said, don't feel (even if you are a public figure) that your followers have to know every last detail of your life. You do have a right to privacy and to guard your heart from more hurt. Stay real and focus on the positives and look forward to new experiences and joy. ❤️ Just be you ... it's working.

I can only dream of being as talented, caring, intelligent not to mention beautiful inside and out. She carries herself with a class and elegance that is hard to find anymore. I need not even hear any explanation on her part, as I would not believe that she would not be her 100% true self. After 19 years, my husband and I separated the first of this year. Exactly as you said, neglect/erosion, etc. is exactly what led to this. Not something I thought I would be dealing with in my 50s, but here I am...and doing well, just dealing with change, plus having my teenagers home has really helped too. Thank you for sharing :)
