    That's a really good sounding baritone! And even with the stock strings you get a really nice note definition and sustain.

    Great review. Baritone is my principal instrument in our band - The Grand Old Uke of York. I can highly recommend Worth clear baritone strings - a little more forgiving and less harsh than wound / metal strings. The Flight Uke sounds lovely. 👍

    Wow, your playing is very smooth and melodic! I liked the Aurora the best. One thing I noticed was the scratching sounds when shifting position were very much muted or non existent on the Aurora. Was this due to the strings, the instrument itself, or the playing technique on a higher quality instrument?

  • @4stringboy

    @4stringboy

    Thank you and great question - it’s the strings, on the Aurora I’m using smoothwound gold uke logic strings, they’re a wound string smoothed over so that they make much much less noise.

    Your pick solution is kinda genius. I suggest you patent your thumbpick idea and get a company to make and sell good quality products with your name on it.

    For being laminate sides and back it sounds rather resonate. That's probably got a lot to do with the saddle and bridge. Inspired playing, friend.

    Can you tune it to a normal uke tuning, like the tenor with accompanied strings.

  • @4stringboy

    @4stringboy

    You need specific strings to do that, but they do exist! As standard it’ll be DGBE and you can’t tune it to GCEA.

    I put tenor strings on a baritone banjolele. Problem is the A first string breaks before I can tune it. Any suggestions Thanks.

  • @4stringboy

    Because the scale is different the tension is higher, you can get strings that are specifically made for GCEA on a baritone, a normal set won’t work (especially your A)

    Would you be able to do a comparision on the Aurora VS fireball I am still unsure on which to purchase. Price is a big point but I also want a great sound out of the instrument. I have bought instruments thinking only about the price and over time regret adding them to my collection.

    I don’t own a Fireball baritone but would love to review one - when I do it’ll very much be vs the Aurora. I’ve played both, the Fireball is definitely worth the extra dollar, but the Aurora is a stunning baritone on its own.

    great info... i'm looking for a baritone ukulele that has smaller nut and bridge string spacing (similar to a guitar, but even smaller). even though ukuleles are smaller instruments, the string spacing is greater than the average guitar.

    That’s true, the string spacing on these kids is much greater. Have you looked at a tenor guitar? Similar size to a baritone uke but smaller string spacing and nut.
