    I can’t get my head around anyone thinking you married Nick for his future earnings potential, let alone actually taking the time to post those thoughts. What ever happened to old fashioned civility? I’m afraid I’d have to block those callous commenters immediately. It’s your life, your marriage and your money, and you’re selfless enough to share details with the world. They don’t deserve a response. Wow…just wow. Have a wonderful day and thank you for the transparency. Super interesting content.

    @@smileycitrus You do such a great job varying your content and keeping it interesting. I just watched the umpteenth budgeter stuffing cash in envelopes like it’s 1950 and somehow that’s actually supposed to make sense. You’re truly a breath of fresh air around here. I don’t live in Australia (or even work anymore), but I still find your posts entertaining and engaging. Some of these trolls really cross the line, but you seem to take it all so gracefully and maintain your composure in the face of shocking thoughtlessness. You’re truly a social media pro. I’m confident there are many, many more of us out there who appreciate your candor than the few whose envy is so obviously apparent from their tasteless remarks. Keep doing you, and please don’t start stuffing any envelopes!

    Love your videos Ella! They bring me so much job and I love to put them on while I’m doing things around the house so we can do things together 😂👏🏻 I wanted to ask if you had any tips on saving on groceries that you’d be willing to share in a video like this? I live in Tasmania with my partner and we spend at least $200 on groceries each week and have cut out a lot of luxuries (potato chips lol). I guess we don’t spend barely money on eating our each week, maybe $25 max so maybe it’s not too bad?? Idk I’d just love to see how you do a savvy shop 👏🏻 We also do not have stores like ALDI. Can’t wait for your next video! ❤

    In the same boat here. I feel like my partner and I spend SO MUCH on groceries but we rarely eat out (like literally once a month, which is usually brunch) and we are both very health conscious so we don’t really buy lollies/ chips/ biscuits etc. I need help decreasing our food shop.

    @@ashlee1408 Yeah its difficult hey! Maybe this comment can start a little forum on how to be a little more savvy when grocery shopping 🥰 Buying in bulk has helped my shopping (if you have space to store the food) and it also fulfils my environmental side hehe. Only going to the shops once a week helps heaps too, ensuring that I dont buy things I dont need though I completely understand that it is preferred to purchase fruits and vegetables fresh on the day of eating. Maybe we should cut ourselves some slack if the only food we eat is what we but on groceries idk 😂 I just thought Ella may have some fab suggestions seeing as she is a financial queen 👸🏻

  • @smileycitrus

    Hello lovely! I have a few tips that I'll share in a vlog soon but shopping at Aldi definitely saves us a lot of $$ every week. Also meal planning, cooking enough for 4 so we have leftovers for lunch/dinner the next day, having as many vegetarian meals as we can (buying meat can get very expensive). In saying that, we do eat out at least 1-2x a week! So we may spend less on groceries but more on eating out

    Hi Ella can you explain how the Australian tax system works in relation to KZread payments? Do you just declare the second income and pay the tax owed at the end of financial year?

  • @smileycitrus

    @smileycitrus

    Yes! I have an ABN so act as a sole trader and then declare my second income at the end of the financial year. I've tried to set aside an appropriate amount of tax every time I get paid from KZread so i'm prepared. Hope that helps!

    I don't know if you noticed, but for your Monday total, you put that you spent a total of $100.07, your grocery shop total for Monday was $95.08 and your coffee was $5.00, so that should have been a total of $100.08. I really enjoyed this! It’s so interesting seeing what others spend their money on 💸 I am curious though - do you think you would still be just as passionate about money etc if you weren’t as “well off” as you are? If you get what I mean? I hope I am not coming across as rude! It’s not my intention 🫶🏼

  • @smileycitrus

    @smileycitrus

    not rude at all 🫶🏼 It's hard to say really but I have always been super passionate about finances and saving/budgeting ever since I got my first job in high school. There's no denying that I've had a fortunate start to life but I have also had many periods of being unemployed and financial stressed. I've always found budgeting and talking about money made me feel so much more empowered and in control. Hard to answer but a very valid question! xx

    You're bad with money. You spend $12,000 per month as a couple. $146,000 per year. You are terrible with money. No one should take your advice unless they wish to be poor forever. You need to first save 10% of your income at minimum and then reduce your spending

    $93,282.80 spent per year if we average it out. As explained, our current fixed expenses are much higher than usual as we are paying for rent AND a mortgage. If you care to watch any of my other financial videos then you would know that we are consistently saving 30% of our income every month
