I do not do English shows but I do rodeo, and I have been in several situations where there has been no one around me with a hose so I would possibly bring that if you want. Also, you can also use hay cubes that expand in water if your horse does not drink, but electrolytes work perfectly as well! Good luck with the show!

And I agree you have to have showsheen. And I have a video suggestion "you should do a GoPro video soon"....?

Lunge line, pins, hair ties, Hair nets, hair spray, Bobby pins, advil, healthy snacks, jugs of water, electrolytes for your self, extra socks, extra breeches, sun screen, show makeup, makeup wipes, phone charger, hoof polish, hair rubber bands for horses, and I can't think of any thing else right now. Haha.

Don’t bring Bute! It’s illegal (not actually) to have it in your horse’s system (at a show). I would only give it to your horse 2 or 3 days before a horse show to it has time to get it out of system. Just a tip. You could still bring it because I doubt they will drug test horses since it’s a schooling show. Love you! Everything else are great thing to bring at a horse show! ❤️

A fly spray I highly recommend is called “horse and pony.” It’s oil based and won’t come off with your horse sweating or if water got on him. You get the big jug and put a little bit of it in a spray bottle then mix it up. Ultra shield is expensive and does work but will rub off easily. Horse and pony is on the cheaper side but literally works just as good at ultra shield

Maybe a lunge line I find it really helpful to lunge before a show as my horse really loosens up relaxes and it calms her down because she doesn't like crowds and loud noises good luck you will be great 😊👍

Yeah my whole family brings those shavers for all the shows we do

I would suggest using waxed braiding twine instead of yarn. It works a lot better it stays in better and is easier to do the braids

Garlic causes anemia in horses, (Heinz anemia). I’d avoid feeding Garlic; it’s not worth it

Correct me if I am wrong as I am from Australia, but I have never heard of the trimming of vibrissae was something "needed" to show. Is there is something on a scorecard or rulebook identifying whiskers needing to be trimmed? Or is it just a cosmetic preference? Just purely a question, no hate :) Also love how decked out your first aid kit is! Such an essential. Best of luck for show season!! xx

It isnt in the rule book, it's just a preference. I highly doubt getting less of a score because you dont trim whiskers. Especially at non rated shows

I imagine they were in there for First Aid use rather than feminine use. They are super absorbent and if you have a cut that’s bleeding bad, wrap with a couple of pads over the wound. They work great.

I got double ads I got 2 so far not even halfway though the vid buy it was two at a time so I basicly got 4 ads 4 mins in the vid

It’s not a dumb thing, it’s actually now illegal in Germany and Switzerland, based on horse welfare reasons. It is still clearly an emotive topic and there are mixed views, not necessarily that it hurts the horse, but that the horses whiskers provide essential sensory functions. Of course everyone is entitled to an opinion

It isn't dumb. Horses need their whiskers to feel around. You can cut them as long as they aren't completely shaved off.

Rated shows it is. I dont believe the show they are going to is rated??? It seems like they have in case of emergency, so when you probably had an accident and you'd have to give, by then you wouldnt be showing that weekend anymore

Kimberlyk12 even if it isn’t rated most shows still do not allow it and they should not be ridden on beaut because they can’t feel their leg and therefore will make it worse they might not do a drug test but you shouldn’t do it
