The biggest think I hate is that Chevrolet knows they have thousands of people that want to buy the car. Yet they are allowing unscrupulous dealers like Golf Mill Chevy, Napleton Chevy, and Dominion Chevy pricing the car $90K over your build price. Considering my build is over $ 160K were talking $ 250 or more for the car. Golf Mill was so bad they told me that they will pick the build and sell the car to the highest bidder? WTH For that price we could buy several other established exotics. There are HONEST dealers out there Leach Wilson being one of them. I'm hoping that Chevy gets the hint from all the complaints and stops allocating to the thieves.

Because dealerships are not owned by the car manufacturers usually. Car dealers are privately owned in most cases. And there’s a bigger corporations that owns majority of car dealerships

As the other person said manufactures leagally aren't allowed to sell cars direct to consumer which is why they can only suggest a retail price (MSRP)

It’s a luxury good in limited supply that should sell to the highest bidder. It’s not food or water. If you don’t want to pay what your neighbor is willing to pay for a luxury good, it’s not the car for you.

@@anonymous..- manufacturers build these cats at a specific price point for a reason, they made a new engine for it and need to sell a certain amount of units to recoup their costs. Dealer markups don't count towards Chevys bottom line,or any manufacturer for that matter. So a dealer selling a car at a 200% markup isn't what the company needs. This is why companies are reluctant to make cool cars anymore

The aircraft community has known for years that hydroplaning speed is directly related to tire pressure. Works for more than just the cup 2's.

Average of 14 MPG yes sir lol that's the smiles per gallon equation there.

Hi Eddie! considering now you own both the R8 gen2 and the C8 z06, I would love to hear your take on comparison between them. I am mostly interested in 3 areas that I found my base c8 a little bit lacking 1) body rigidity (still hearing a bit popping noise around removable top going over uneven surface, better than c5/6 of course but still there) 2) steering especially just off center, not as crisp as my alpha platform Camaro 3) throttle response (not turbo lag of course, but has this feeling that the moment you have 100% throttle the throttle body is not actually at 100%, with half a second delay). Thank you!

Have you driven a non Z07 package C8 Z06 Eddie? If so, how different is the stiffness/harshness of the non Z07 suspension vs Z07 suspension?

Cool to see you driving around North Phoenix just like I did with my vettes. Ever do White Spar to Prescott through Wickenburg and Yarnell? Really fun. Please bring that beast up to Prescott for their big Corvette event next year too. They shut down the whole square for it.

Amazing thing is all creature comforts work because they are from GM with Apple car play standard. And can get serviced at your Chevy dealer. Amazing.

Love your Z06, and that two tone blue interior, and matching blue wristband. 4:20 ... As for the trunk volume, based on the official Corvette numbers, the HTC has one of the largest capacity trunks of any sports car convertible. It's over 50% larger than a Bentley Continental GTC's, for example...

What I hate is no lap times from GM. It still has not been determined (officially) how this car stacks up against its own previous generations and the competition. It has been labeled a "track monster" without a lap time.

Would love to see you compare the car to others far outside of its price bracket, with the owner driving or in the car. Get the others owners perspective and how it compares to things like GT3s and Ferrari’s

Speed phenom have been doing this, Ferrari, R8, Lamborghini, and 911 videos so far.

Why does the exhaust note sound computerized from inside the car? That really bugs me in all the C8Z vids I’ve seen.

I drove a Huracan with an aftermarket exhaust that was exciting and then a regular C8 that was so boring, so I bought a GT350 shelby since I just couldnt wait anymore!

I'm trying to get one but it isn't going to happen quick for me. I have faith it'll be worth the wait

Track Super Car v. Daily Driver... I think the Hybrid with all season tires and a soft closing Frunk appears to be the perfect combo for you Eddie, though you have to get over the "well its not nationally aspirated" stuff. Nevermind, nobody is gonna take that blue one away from you. We can tell that you are emotionally attached to it.

Be careful here in North Scottsdale... We have a lot of photo radar and attentive Police Officers 🚔🏜🌞 Been that way since the 1980's here....

I'm hoping by the time my build comes up, GM let's you spec the PS4S for the Z07 package instead of forcing the Cup 2Rs on you.

I really doubt that would happen since the Z07 is designed around maximum track capability. Easy change tho!

Z07 package is still on constraint, and even when the aero becomes available they will fulfill Z07 builds of guys that have been patiently waiting and the Z06 with aero will still be constrained probably until 2024 models at minimum. I was a non Z07 with aero guy. They won't spec different tires because of the suspension. FE4 vs FE5 suspension and tires are really the only differences between Z06/Z07 and that's why it's only $500 difference between a Z06 with CCB and a Z07. I wanted a non Z07 with aero and didn't want cup2r tires but went ahead and ordered a 150k spec Z06 and will add some aero bits later. The splitter looks amazing without canards on it and I am 50/50 on the high wing anyways.

Also the guys that do a lot of tracking are getting 1LZ Z06 (lightest) and keeping the steel brakes and keeping ps4s or buying other tires. Smart and probably quicker than Z07 especially depending on track length.

Great car. Wonderfully informative review. Respectfully suggest having a outward facing camera when driving. The two "driving selfie" camera shots are a bit much!

The investment definitely should go to the buyer, not the dealer. Definitely the hottest sport car I’ve ever seen. I have a friend that had all the hottest foreign sports cars in the 250-500k range. This to me is right up there and better. I would get this model but in the gray and black interior. I’ve seen their all red interior. That is so ugly a little red in the middle is classy. But all over is too much.

Great car and video. Personally, I really like the sound of the Z06, but I still think the R8/Huracan sounds better.

Make a comparison video with the zr1...

GOOD One Eddie. Have you noticed on your wheels that the spoke design doesn't make sense for strength? As for ultimate strength they should be equally spaced. Always wondered how much wheels were designed by taste vs. pure design engineering..

Corvettes have always been expensive. I recall C4 ZR1 was so expensive for its time. That is part of the appeal.

Any recommendations on get a new set of wheel and a set of 4s tires. Mine with z07 package delivery is around the corner, but I don’t feel comfortable to drive on the road with the cup 2R, I will keep them in the garage for track use. I would like to get a set of wheel that gives an aggressive look😊

I find this ironic: For decades auto enthusiasts have complained the Corvette is not 'like a Ferrari or a Lambo or a Porsche or a McLaren'. All of those cars see higher than MSRP prices especially for their limited production models. Nobody whines about that. NOW - when we see highly desirable C8s hitting peak market prices - we cry foul. 😢. We got exactly what we wanted: The C8 is just like the exotics. Do I like dealers gouging? Of course not, and I hope GM can stop it somehow. "No Chevy Bolts or Silverados for you!!", sorta thing is needed, I believe. In the meantime I support the MSRP dealers and there are lots of them out there. Place your deposit and wait - just like the rest of us did.

Clearly the DOHC flat plane engine sets this car apart from others at the price. I have real trouble with the comparison to the E-Ray at nearly the same price. The blue interior looks great. I note that it is "different". Colors on side seat bolsters is different from other two color seats. Plus the headrests are blue instead of the seating area color of black. I have to wonder why that is not available on the other colors. I also note that I have seen interior shots recently of cars in two tones that have a large color panel in the door panel which yours does not. I wonder if these could be special ordered. Could any of these differences be special ordered? I'm sure curious what we will have following the E-Ray...another flat plane? a LT7? Will the old GM Authority "leaked info" continue?

The door panel is a mid year refresh that the vendor did. My rapid Z06 will come with the new door panels in a few weeks. Luckily I have the carbon level 2 package so it won't be too much of the tension blue.

Do they sell all seasons for z06? An OEM. I found the fronts not rear

Is it me , or does it seem like the shifts are not as fast as the standard stingray?

Z06 tires and alignment. The cars leave the factory aligned for track. This means they are cantered in/out for handling. This also means poor wear on the inside of the tires. If you plan on not going to the track have the dealer realign the car for NORMAL wear. This is better for drag strip and normal driving.

Congrats again on that beautiful car Eddie! Can't wait to see the new wheels and tires. If I was to nitpick top the the list would be the steering wheel shifter paddle material and the sound they make...they are so bad to me I would never use them. I don't think the real wing with the lower swoop part in the middle will ever grow on me after seeing some straight and taller after market ones.

Most people are like you. They buy track package because they hey looks cool. But never and hardly ever take to track then are scared of driving in those track tires in regular roads. 🤦‍♂️🤷

I drove a 9000 redline Mazda Rx8 I owned that’s supposed to provide a lot of emotion when driving and used to own a large v8 5.0 fox body mustang Lx and I tell you I had just as much fun and emotion in in the mustang as in the Rx8 even more at times they are just different engines so the truth is magic of good marketing to make that extra 20 or 30 k more for a c8 Z06 it’s not worth it I drove a c8 and is a full attention getter of fun and emotion much more than the cars I just mentioned it’s all relative!

14 MPG!?!! you driving a Prius? I get 7 on my GT500 hehe

EddieX, yes tech is good; however, in a car, it can be expensive when things break, meaning another trip to the dealer, which equals inconvenience, money, time, etc. Moreover, more tech means more safety concerns when the driver takes their eyes off the road to look at their screens! I don’t like the direction of the auto industry…

Waiting for someone to come out with a throttle mapped Z06 sound track for the Stingray. What would all the people shouting about the sound do then.

Why does this sound like the R8 is about to get sold? 😂

Love/hate? Wishing you well. Do the stuff that is fun to you and others involved. Do a video at a senior's home and joy ride octogenarians. A rehab facility? Do videos with "outside humanity" who would never touch a Z06, but for Eddie X. Go find the lost, the forgotten, the ignored, the unlikely subjects. That is an unexplored theme. If you can stand deplorable flowers.

You still got passenger seat for your suitcase 😂 Or wait for one more year They might come out with a full electric version With No mid-engine All that space can be used for back trunk spaces or more room for the back passengers , That would be nice, look good and also practical and still have all the performance

14MPG avgerage....ummm, that's good! I'm getting 12MPG in standard C8 HTC.

This engine is for the Gods!!!!! But the cars' design is a missed opportunity. Corvette team had an opportunity to pen something stellar. Instead, they loaded the exterior and interior design with gimmicks and overloaded it with unnecessary complication, lines, creases....etc....It also keeps getting larger and heavier. The waist line is very high so is the massive rear end - partially because of an obsessions to fit 2 golf bags in the trunk....the best C8 is a 718 GT4 or Spyder with 6MT and short gearing kit 🙂

I heard the Z06 engine is bad, is that true?

I really don’t think there is a nicer car than this in existence. There may be more expensive or exclusive, but not a better performance car in the world.

Now the E Ray is much different and probably faster than the c8 Z06 and has that special wide body looks and handling feel over the stingray

LT6 motor over LT2 all day. That sound and lighter weight then the ele eray. Eray will be a cool daily but no contest IMO.

Agree. C8 is my 6th Corvette and have never needed front lift but seems everybody wants it. My salesperson said 90% get it.

Great track car ONLY......but the new 24' Corvette AWD E-RAY will crush you stop light to stop light !!!....And 1/4 mile to 1/4 mile..

Why are you complaining about front storage? You only have Two seats and enough storage for Two and bags up front. More than others for less $$$$.

Very nice cars but my only gripe so much is the sound. Ferrari unique, r8 unique, Lamborghini unique. This is too ferrari sounding to me personally. I own a 458 and 488 gets old I guess people saying oh should’ve bought a c8 lol wish the z06 was more like the gt350 and sounded unique.

Get an E-Ray and supercharge it.

Your wheels need to be replaced with carbon fiber wheels from Corvette.

I have nothing against the car , actually would like the Eray better , can’t afford this but if I could I would not buy into this craziness and go with a Porsche gt3 or turbo s

If, you are a Porsche guy go for the turbo S. The GT3 is not a great daily driver. The seats coupled with sound intrusion/noise becomes really uncomfortable after driving for several hours. The seats and noise level are great in the C8 Stingray. My ZO6 won't be delivered until the end of the year so can't describe the driving experience.

dont drive in the rain, this car is only good as a side toy

I’m rolling down the highway, looking good, looking smooth, looking rich. I don’t care about trunk space. Clean underwear and hygiene products is all I need.

To be fair, it is very satisfying for me to go to Costco and fit the mega pack of Toilet Paper and Paper Towels along with a giant jar of nuts, 2 dozen roses, a Kirkland T-shirt and 50lb box of Duraflame firelogs in my vehicle.

I like the engine, I hate the body design, the stingray looks way better .this thing is gaudy fat with horrible looking side vents and a chessy pumpkin face.

Too many words.

Who cares about MPG in a Z06 😂

I Would have done the AWD E-RAY i can't stand RWD Cars it's because of traction i love my 4 wheels pulling
