A lot of people hate Milwaukee that are from Milwaukee. Yes there are problems in the innercity but out of it the city is beautiful and truly a destination. The innercity can be helped by actually making a change with better leadership, more access to jobs and public transportation and better innercity education, instead of throwing hate towards it. Shades of grey will never change if you condone

People blast home and places they never visited! I learned how much I miss the mil once I moved to AZ!!! I miss the convenience, food, culture, the ppl, my Milwaukee bucks games, the occasional pull to a backyard bbq, the summer, bars etc of course the inner city bad, but name me 1 city that doesn’t have a rough inner city???? Fact of the matter is, you lay your head outside the city, and come to the city to enjoy the fun it brings! Period! I’m thinking bout moving back

One of the bestest cities eveh! All should try to visit during "Summerfest", the largest outdoor music festival in the world, right by Lake Michigan. There is also great fun to be had during the annual Harleyfest celebrations, carried out in Milwaukee and many surrounding communities. Bikers from all over the world come, and there isn't troubles, just good times and some great country to ride around. It really is "a great place by a Great Lake", and they don't even pay me to write it!

This is the most chaotic good travel video I have seen

The summers in Milwaukee are the best, however the winters and mix spring can be awful, gets dark early and rains a lot, the public transportation sucks, buses are the only form.

I'm trying to narrow down where I should move to between Denver and Milwaukee (I know, strange choice set)...to me it's coming down to culture and my future as a mid 30's something...I just want my life to be chill, though I do have career aspirations as an entrepreneur. Denver seems great in a lot of ways but it also seems to have that douchey hustle culture somewhat. Is that present so much in Milwaukee, or are the people very authentic? I get that feeling from my two visits to the place--that the people really don't suck and you can rely on them. Yet the city is cool enough to be able to scratch the creative itch and also not have to give up on your dreams. But maybe I can just take the hustle culture down a few notches to the point that I don't feel overwhelmed. Am I wrong about this? I am originally from Detroit and I had always thought Milwaukee seemed like a less threatening and more lively version of Detroit...but upon visiting it seemed impressive in its own right. Are the beer gardens and beautiful public parks worth some of the cons that are common to both Michigan and Wisconsin? I would love to hear honest thoughts...I'm sorry this turned into such a long comment.

Film one for Madison WI, I grew up in Milwaukee, but lived in Madison for 6 years of my early-mid-late 30's, Madison is an excellent town, and in some ways I feel better than Milwaukee. That is, not to take anything away from the positives of Milwaukee.

Lotta people hate winter in Milwaukee. I've just always been used to it, I guess, cause I never really had any problems with it. I'd walk home from school holding my coat in the winter, dead-ass serious.
