Good morning Corie... very wise words; 'you don't have a feeling, without a thought first!' It does my heart good to see young people going to the Lord for answers. Turning to God before just reacting has always worked out much better for me, than not. Sometimes we want to run to others for validation or whatever... when He alone can council us. 'Go to the Throne, before going to the phone.' Thank you for your words of wisdom and encouragement, Corie. God bless you and your family as the year goes forward! 🙏

From a fellow NC girl, thanks for sharing this. The things you’re learning are part of a lifelong Christian journey where we realize over time and experience that what we really want is to be increasingly connected to Christ. We begin to figure out that our guidance and comfort can’t be found anywhere but with Him, and all the thoughts that pull us away from Him are just that: lies. I’m still learning some of the same things and I’m, hmmm….probably about the age of your mama. But I think the older we get, it’s like peeling layers of an onion to get to the center of God’s will, and It takes a minute! It does my retired-teacher-heart good to see someone so young with the maturity to reflect on life as you’re doing. This post definitely touched my heart and made me smile.😊

I too, love the verse that says God holds us by our hand. Every time l come across a verse about God holding us by our hand I draw a little hand. I am 66 years old and am BLESSED to have had a strong father who is still alive. God has left me with a precious memory of my dad holding my hand in the ocean when I was a little girl, jumping over the waves. I needed his comfort then, and I need God‘s comfort every day as an adult. You’re exactly right; we are like little children who need to snuggle with our heavenly Father- the need never goes away! And he is always there for us. You are a very dear gal!

Young lady, you are wise beyond your years. It is so refreshing to see in these crazy times a mature, thoughtful, Godly women not caught up in the world. I am soon to be 74 years old and it took me years to get to the point you are. You have been blessed beyond measure to have such wonderful parents to love, guide and direct you and instill the love of God into your life. Satan is always at the ready to swoop in and misdirect our lives and it is wonderful to see how firm and strong you are in your faith. You are not just lovely on the outside but also on the inside. I know God will continue to hold your hand today, tomorrow and always.

Thank you for words of wisdom. Christmas is always a struggle for me because we’ve lost two sons since 2017. Also, we have several family members that are, let’s say difficult, to deal with. Before Christmas I was dealing with anxiety and depression and as usual I kept it to myself. But each morning I spend time with God in prayer and reading scripture and one morning God really spoke to me through His word. He showed me that my part in dealing with others is to forgive and to love them, and He takes care of the rest. It was like a light coming on and a weight off my spirit. Ever since if those feelings start coming on, I say to myself, nope I forgive and love them. Our God is so good and cares about everything we go through. Blessings to you.

I ask the Lord to lead me and show me the path He wants me to go down now instead of just choosing a path based on my thoughts or emotions or what anyone else gives me as their advice. Excellent message, Corie....THANK YOU! Several verses came to mind while listening to you. First, Jeremiah 17:9 - "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" You're so wise to recognize this at such a young age. ❣ Second, 2 Corinthians 10:5 - "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;" I also thought of James 1:5. You're obviously seeking wisdom from the Lord. 🥰 You mentioned Psalm 32:8...and I thought of something I hadn't before. In order to follow where the Lord guides by His eye, we have to be focusing on Him and His wisdom, not the world's! So, thank you for that. I pray that God continues to bless, guide, and teach you!

Thank You! Don’t diminish your best and don’t try to fit 10 things where only 5 will fit. Your first year of marriage is difficult. People talk about the honeymoon phase. I feel that is real to a point. Being with your soulmate is Wonderful and also very trying. They know you so well and you know them. I have found that if you are upset, count to 3 and then say something. Don’t over analyze. Take your time. Enjoy where you are Now in your marriage. Love changes and grows. Anyone who has been married for any length of time will tell you that. Lastly, actively listen. Put down what you are doing and look into your spouse’s eyes and listen. We all want to be loved but we really want to be heard too.

This video reminded me of Billy Joel's song "Vienna", especially the lyric "You've got so much to do and only so many hours in a day". Also, the expression "trying to fit ten pounds of potatoes in a five-pound sack" came to mind. It's important both to remember that creating content is your job and thus should be your priority on some days, but that other aspects of your life (your health, your marriage, your faith) demand your attention on other occasions.

Concerning the negative thoughts, AMEN! 🙌🏻❤️ This is very important for Christians to understand. The Lord has also shown us that when we have negative thoughts, that it's important not to give them a voice. Because when we give them a voice by speaking them, we reinforce that thought and give it power. Thank you for this food for thought, Corey! ❤️ I know that we've never met in person, but we think about y'all frequently, and watch your videos every day! You are not alone. Welcome to Grownupville. It's certainly not easy & many of us would sometimes like to go back to the simpler days of youth. Lots of us take it more gradually, living at college, apts. with other single friends, less drastic, but still hard. Just remember that the new feelings & thoughts, although sometimes scary, are signs of growth & will help you decide what is important, what you want, what you need & how to move forward. It's important to talk about your feelings with the people you care about. From what I see, you seem surrounded by wise people who love you & can help you find your way. Your husband, Mom & Dad, your sister, your Grandma & I'm sure, close friends, each have shared your experiences in one way or another & each would love to help. Good advice I've received or witnessed in others 1. not take yourself too seriously, learn to laugh at yourself & at situations that come up. 2. Challenge yourself. Learn something new, work on a project, work toward a goal; with the emphasis on the process, the learning, the steps achieved along the way, not only on the finish line. 3. And finally, do for others. I find my greatest joy in giving. Doesn't have to be much, spending time with others, helping out without being asked, give someone flowers, make a favorite meal or dessert, volunteer in your community. It's all about growth. You'll do fine.

Awesome advice! I’m listening to an Audiobook now called “ Don’t invite the enemy to your table” this falls right in line with your message today. Blessings to you and yours

Probably a terribly shallow comment to drop onto such a deeply profound video but that is such a pretty top that you have on today! It flatters you very much.

Your first thing you listed was one of the big problems I faced when I moved out and got married too! Definitely! Before, parents and teachers and people were telling you how to accomplish your goals and telling you what your goals should be. But moving out and getting married- you have to make it up as you go and decide for yourself. So many options. It’s hard. Also “You don’t need those thoughts. Just tell them to leave.” 😂 yessss You’re speaking all truth in this video girl. Philippians 4:4-9

Great and wise video for the new year! I just had my ten year old son listen to your message and it brought comfort to him, especially the bad thoughts and the direction one is going. When he has a bad thought kind of day, he likes to open his bible to Psalm 91 and place it on a chair in the middle of his bedroom. Blessings to you and your family Corie.

So awesome! Your best is all you can do. Your best might not be as good as someone else's best, BUT, your best will be better than someone else's. Your best is enough!
