After training to support children with hearing impairments it really opened my eyes to how they deal with the world around them. It was also mentioned about the controversy surrounding the cochlear implants which I never knew was a thing. It's great how you are spreading deaf awareness and I think more and more people should be educated on hearing impairments to support both children and adults. Xx

I like that you are so open to chat about it and don't get offended with people's questions. Why would people criticise?! Surely you're just trying to help your little one hear? I can't believe that. Unbelievable. lots of love to you xo

My daughter is getting her implants in one week, on her 1 year birthday, thank you for posting this! I know we're making the right choice, but it's so great to hear what life could be like in a few months, a year, etc. 💞💞

Tristen Dodd That is a bit too young...suspiciously too young. I got mine when I was 2 but she's your daughter, the choice is you're.

I just found you on instagram. My son is 18 months old he had perfect hearing up until a few months ago but now can't hear at all, we're in the process of having tests done & to be honest I'm having a pretty hard time coping with it all and have probably cried more in the last few weeks than ever before but after watching your videos I feel so much better about the situation, I was scared shitless at the thoughts of Freddie needing hearing aids/implants but after seeing Harry & how happy he is has brought me a great sense of relief x

My son is 2 months old and was born deaf, it's genetic. He was fitted for hearing aids at the age of 2 weeks. It's amazing how far hearing equipment has come.

Love watching your videos. I also think it's so great that you're so passionate about raising awareness about cochlear implants. Can't believe it is a controversial thing. That surprises me a lot. X

It would be nice to hear about unexpected challenges you've had and how you dealt with them. I'd also like to see the night time routine you have with your son when the processors get put away for the night, particularly how he adjusted to the change when he was younger.

I would have thought that you'd have learned that captions are a good idea for the deaf. I have a CI and still rely on captions.

I wonder if you've watched "switched at birth"? One of the girls in that had meningitis as a child and lost her hearing and her mother didn't go for the cochlear implants. Might be Interesting for you to see the other side! Your videos about your sons deafness have all been really interesting! :)

Loved this video, was so interesting seeing it from the cochlear implant perspective! Im 21 years old and have worn hearing aids in both ears since the age of 3! I am so protective of them and without them I am so moody as I am profoundly deaf and hate not being able to hear! I also lip read a lot too! Was just wondering why you chose a cochlear implant over hearing aids?

Hearing Aids don't work very well for profound hearing loss. My daughter has severe to profound loss in her left ear and she wears a hearing aid in that ear. She doesn't hear all speech sounds properly in that ear. She has a cochlear implant in her right ear, which is profoundly deaf. It is amazing how well she hears with it!

beautylovefashion1 have you considered cochlear implants? My daughter had to use high powered hearing aids before she got her implant, and still uses one for her left ear.
