Yes!! And I like Matthew Posa , if you like outdoor adventures like canoeing camping fishing cooking over the fire ( and doggies)... He is so positive and also funny without trying to be an expert. Hes just doing his thing. I will play his videos for hours some days as background ambiance...thats how un annoying most of it is. Learned alot too.

Hi Derek I watch you and Crystal all the time. I live in Melbourne Australia. I have been fully plant based for 15 months now lost 15 KGs and am committed because I have heart disease. I love the chickpea recipe and just made it. I am learning to throw together ingredients that I like. It has certainly been a journey but I haven’t given up because I feel so good. Love not having food cravings now that I don’t eat sugar or processed foods. I love Canadian maple syrup - its quite expensive but it one of my staples. Keep up the good work. I work in a hospital. It’s been very busy but all is good with us. Stay safe.

Buying a Vitamix was the best kitchen purchase I made. It's right up there with good knives, an instapot, and my kitchen aid.

No doubt the Vitamix is sort of a gold-standard and I might even get one next, but more affordable options can be found. I got an Oster Pro 1200 over four years ago for like $60 that I've used almost daily and handles pretty much anything I need it to. One nice thing is it has a smoothie preset that alternates the blade direction several times and negates the need to prod things around. It also has a glass pitcher for those who prefer that. The vitamix is actually too high powered for them to use glass even if they wanted to (at least that's what they say). The vitamix is higher powered and probably lasts longer, but I know when I first started there was no way I was going to spend that much on one, so it is an option to start with a cheaper one if you're on a budget.

I have the same blender...! It does a good job on smoothies. I’ve done hummus too, but I usually have to make it a bit more liquidy to get it to mix. But overall, it’s a great blender. Also, the smoothie button always impresses my friends and family. 😆

You have no idea how much you've helped me Derek. Not just these awesome recipes but also the nature hikes (that JFK reference made me lol) I've never been a very athletic guy but you've inspired me to at least get in some exercise every day. Friggin' love you man!

I love how straightforward you are when cooking you keep it simple you're not using crazy fancy-schmancy ingredients stuff. Your using spices and sauces everyone pretty much has in their kitchen or that's affordable so people can buy. I have to thank you for that. I'm definitely going to try those Jackfruit tacos
